OH I love the lights! these huge ships with their Christmas lights all sparkling, the fog and water, the wonderful Missouri zooming around and the grace of the Wilfred Sykes, it's all a perfect winter's scene. I'm so glad you were up there filming, and we get to see it as if were there right alongside. Wonderful!!!

My first girl was built in the 1950s. The first 1200 psi carrier. She had Rosie's parts all over her, but she ran like a swiss...car. I loved that old underestimated ship with her absolute top of the line crew. They taught me how to be.

The Wilfred Sykes may have had top billing but I think Missouri stole the show. Those artistic close-ups with floating ice crystals, and let's not forget the understated Captain's salute with light signals ... a true professional, leaving the fanfare for the big star!

Love how that diffused light gives everything a cinematic quality. Nice to see the Missouri in a supporting roll as she helps to keep the Wilfred Sykes on the move. And equally nice to see the Sykes dressed up for Christmas. Oh, and I wonder what was the reason for the Sykes making a noisy departure with the hissing steam.

Actually, your post is the first I’ve heard about it. I was wondering why she was no longer headed towards Duluth. I suspect her season might be over if she needs some work done. That’s too bad if so. I was hoping to catch her once more this season.

Umm, you made the Missouri a little older than she actually is. She was built in 1927, which will make her 98 years old. I remember her build date because it's the same year my dad was born.

Thank you! I’m currently using a Nikon Z6 II which is now a few years old. I picked it because it has pretty good low light performance. There are better cameras now, but they are $$$. I operate on a thin budget. 😁
