Wilkinson EZ-LOK Tuners: Putting on the Strings

This video shows how to install strings on Wilkinson's EZ-LOK tuners.

I pull the string tight then wrap one turn then into the second hole, locks tight. I use all upper hole's first. String's using a string tree lower hole first.

Good job, I usually have the strings through the bottom first on both E strings and in the top holes for the rest so they are at a more consistent height behind the nut. But as you said it doesn't really matter as long as they don't slip 👍👍👍

Two holes, one hole, either way these tuners have a high ratio and hold pretty darn good for 20 $ tuners. I have a set on one of my el cheapo guitars and they are still in tune after two months in the closet and hold while thrashing on it. If you are short on money, buy a set.

"Featuring Wilkinsons 'EZ-Lok' system" This feature is essentially 2 string post holes drilled at 90 degrees from each other. Pull the string through one hole real tight, wrap 3/4 around the post, pull tight through the other hole. Tune to pitch, cut the string- DONE. Use the top hole first for the E, A and D, use the bottom hole first for the G, B and E. Or, you can ignore it and string your guitar the traditional way, the choice is yours.

It’s hard getting a tight wrap on the string and getting into the second hole. I tried this method but I found the tuners don’t hold tune and they are difficult to get the strings off the tuners. These tuners are going back.

I never reuse strings - Anytime I tried to reuse them, the thinner ones snap and they don't seem to hold tune after. Considering a set of earnie ball or elexir cost around £6 here in the UK, I just replace them.

This came stock with my Vintage V6P, funny some techs love them and some loathe them, but they work, for the money they are a great buy, but once you get use to stringing the low E and A it's becomes a natural thing,

I think at the moment I have not seen any guitar that sells them, they are bought separately, look for them like Wilkinson Ez-lok

Your low E string is way to high on the post. You need a 'break' angle.

I ordered a set of these. They are truly awful if you try to use both holes. Just tune it normally and spare yourself the frustration

When I opened the pack of these I took one look and said "NOPE!" Seriously, the audacity to make a post that ties strings in a knot and call it a locking tuner. They're going straight onto the closet guitar and I'm getting some Gotohs.

WoW! sorry dude, it is all wrong. For 6 in line staggered tuners - Top hole first for the E, A & D. Bottom hole first for G, B & E. For 3+3 tuners - Top hole first for all E, A, D, G, B & E. Be sure a string in through correct hole, pull tight then wrap 3/4 around the post, pull tight through the other hole. Tune to pitch, cut the string - DONE.

Biggest mistake guitarist make… giving slack to strings, I use zero slack on every tuner and they work great, who came up with this insane amount of slack concept.

You dont lock with string on string friction on this system, you lock with the second hole.
