The monster in Nova Scotia was not a licensed gun owner, used illegal firearms, possessed an illegal RCMP uniform, and modified a surplus cruiser to look like an RCMP vehicle-which is also illegal. He then burned 9 people and their pets to death in their homes. Mr Trudeau's gun grab will not prevent a madmen like him from doing something like that in future. PS Justin's personal protection detail, the RCMP, are allowed to use military issue C8 "assault rifles" with 30 round magazines, and capable of full auto. What war do they plan on fighting? I guess there are two sets of standards for this regime?

By then it will be too late. Make them accountable, force them to defend themsleves on National Television. Call them out on things like the illegality of using an OIC - Order in Council - to push an agenda. Call them on using a Tragedy to pander to a group of vocal minorities. Ask them on National Television how is it that by viligying and victimizing 2 216 000+ Firearms owners will make the public any safer when in fact that the perpetrator did not have an PAL/RPAL, obtained his firearms illegally by smuggling them in from the US, shot and killed an RCMP Officer then stole her firearm and drove around in, by all appearances, an RCMP cruiser. They can not defend their position, this in turn will make them look like the idiots that they are. A Common Sense approach will turn the public against them. Any defense offered by them will appear weak, underhanded and malicious. Then make it clear that this is how this government does things. Everyone thinks it can't happen to them until it does.

let me jump in at this point. I FUCKING HATE DUMBASS ARGUMENTS LIKE THESE. ASSAUKT SPOON, ASSAULT KNIVES BLAH, BLAH BLAH. Dumbass arguments like these accomplish nothing because they have no point, there is no logic to them and they have no coherence. The simple argument to be made is one of FACTS and DATA. Legally squired guns in canada account for statistically ZERO gun related violence. So realistically, banning any legal gun will have ZERO effect on gun violence. Banning guns will NOT affect the acquisition of guns for illicit purposes because statistically ZERO legally CANADIAN aquired guns end up in the hands of criminals. Guns are imported from China, the US and Mexico through cross border trade in trucking containers and smuggled across mostly in Quebec so those are the places to concentrate on. Making silly assault spoon arguments are infuriatingly annoying since there is a legitimate class of rifles called assault rifles. Its not some shit ignorant people made up . It a real class of firearms and its just as ignorant as the morons who are totally ignorant of the gun laws to be claiming that there is no such thing, because there is. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle

Whether or not a gun ban will stop violence is irrelevant. If you're gonna live in a country with freedoms, you use your judicial system to punish the ones that murder others, while the rest of the people that did nothing wrong, continue enjoying the freedom to own guns. You shouldn't be trading freedoms and liberties for crime prevention, because if you go down that road, you'll end up living in a police state with no freedoms.

Used let's say, a pickup truck with a covered box as a mobile platform, and installed a slit to sight though and used a bolt action rifle of high accuracy to randomly shoot people up to half a mile away. How much carnage could someone inflict if they did something like that? We know the damage the DC Sniper did. What would be the appropriate response? Should we then ban all bolt action rifles? The point is this: if people want to be violent, they will find ways to be violent. Banning the tools people use for violence will never stop the violence.

If the shooter went to the meticulous effort and extent of obtaining and disguising a replica police cruiser as well as masquerading as a police officer in uniform, I truly don’t think it is an unrealistic stretch to arrive at the conclusion that he would illegally obtain firearms or any other means to carry out his objective. Nor do I think any restriction of the law on whatever - take your pick - would have stopped him from his intent. When a criminal is motivated no law is going to stop them. How about we institute initiatives such as addressing violence like Mr. Giltaca mentions? How about we improve and boost mental health programs, or create solutions to allow ex convicts to reintegrate back into society and contribute to an honest living instead of relapsing back into a criminal lifestyle as is usually the case? How about we instill a sense of pride back into hard work, positive work ethic, and a good attitude that motivates our youth to maximize their potential instead of attraction towards a gang lifestyle? How about we work together to have open and productive discussion to improve our society instead of creating division? The options are as limitless as your imagination. Let’s get off our asses and get to work instead of being lazy, which in my opinion, is what this government promotes - being lazy and undisciplined. Message ends.

People seriously believe the narrative on the NS event. A man somehow got what looks like a brand new cruiser full illegal RCMP decals how absurd. Meanwhile not one answer about why RCMP officers stepped out of their car and opened fire on a Fire Hall they were sure had no one in it due to lock down, while admin was doing the books. opps so unexpected for that to happen. Previously the RCMP had a huge fight with the Denturist over a parking lot dispute where they damaged his parking lot chain. No list of what guns the guy used nor answers to so many other crazy narratives the RCMP continue to put out on the event. Meanwhile the guy of course burns the cars (no evidence left there) he appears minutes later miles and miles away in a gas station to pick up a pop? Look I don't doubt for a minute that people were killed. I have a really hard time believing this guy did it alone. RCMP have become so corrupt I don't doubt one bit they were the perpetrators of this whole false flag event cause mass casualties. Think people think! There are so many lies regarding this whole event, it boggles the mind. All to take your rights and property. To all non gun owners. Let me lay it out to you. You purchase a new truck and pay it off for $80,000 the gov will give you $20,000 for the vehicle and demand you turn it into the RCMP or you destroy it. In the end you have paid the full price of the vehicle and you are going to pay in taxes to buy vehicles back from millions of owners. Anyone see a problem here??? Time to draw the line in the sand over this whole false event carried out exclusively by the RCMP and Liberal Government. What better time to do this than when no witnesses are on the streets. Please who believes the guys girlfriend hid out in the woods for 2 days. Come on people think this through. Its all BS.

Some people in Canada think that a chef's knife is designed to kill. Others think (and have shown us) that cars are designed to kill innocent people. These two alone have been responsible for more than intentional firearm homicides. Personally I call these people mentally unstable. If you think that, in Canada, a firearm is designed to kill instead of having fun at the range, hunting, for work or competition, then I will agree to disagree with you (but I respect your opinion). I would rather see our government work on actual crime and the serious issues of our society where people feel abandoned and more alone than ever. Going after those that are background checked every 24 hours (that's right), have exemplary records and never committed a crime in their life is not the solution (in my opinion).

Drugs kill way more people than guns in Canada. Watching how ferociously some people advocate for a gun ban while others advocate for drug liberalization with equal boldness really baffles me.

This conversation (THE TRUTH) needs to go on the streets to educate and sensitize the public not only on this subject but also, about what the real issues are in our current neoliberal - individualistic - class cabal - profit-driven social framework. Structural violence (poverty, unnecessary stress) coupled with there outcomes; (loss of self-esteem, mental illness, etc.) are the output generated and the problem. It will be tedious work, but it needs to be done to counter the false narratives that are currently being pushed with unfortunately the help of the mainstream media. it's really interesting to see that every time politicians fine themselves "the back against the wall" they tend to harass and disrupt the peace of innocent people, (in this case, law-abiding gun owners). They cowardly go head-on after everything but not the problem itself. I find this absolute mind bugling! So it is crucial to keep up with education because that, is the key.

I am sorry to say, I don't think we can stop terrible things like this from happening. These gun laws do nothing

Don’t watch one second of this video. I’ll give you the answer. “NO”. Removing legal guns from Canadian citizens will not stop criminals from perpetrating crimes. End of debate. Lol

April 23, 2018 there was an attack by someone driving a van on Yonge St in Toronto. Ten people were killed and sixteen injured, some critically injured. Should we ban the private ownership of vans? Banning guns about this is about the same.

Maybe do a study on what causes people to act in murderous or harmful ways, instead of just banning every damn gun in the country.

You can not ban a person's capacity for violence. These laws do nothing, but good people in harms way.

I urge everyone to read George Orwell's "Animal Farm". It's a short read (you probably can read it in one night), and although written in the 1940's is still very relevant to what is happening in Canada right now. The part I like the most is when the pigs write "all animals are equal" in their "constitution" at the beginning of the book but by the end of the book, the pigs (who symbolically portray the government) then (by their own version of "Order in Council") change the wording to "all animals are created equal but some are more equal than others"...

How do laws ending legal firearm ownership stop a man from impersonating a Mountie and using illegally owned guns to kill innocents? The impersonation was already illegal, as was owning firearms illegally, and as was murder. Literally, not a single thing about the tragedy is being addressed with the new legislation. The only thing being impacted is firearms that were NOT obtained illegally, and were NOT used by someone impersonating a Mountie, and who did NOT commit murder. Is it Opposite Day in Canada?

How about a ban on vehicles since Canada has had a few ram attacks and drunk driving deaths. That would reduce deaths in Canada far more than a gun ban.

banning a product based on its appearance vs what it's capable of doing by this gov't is the exact same idea that they used in dealing with tobacco. They banned flavours thinking that's the primary cause for what leads to lung cancer yet ignores the ingredients that goes into a cigarette! Like if you wanna do more for a person's health, why not ban the poisions and the benzene chemicals that are added to a cigarette!
