In my struggles with sin, I always fear the consequences when standing before the Lord. Though I do not live in this sin, it sometimes rears its ugly head. I am thankful for the grace of God that both grants me God's unmerited favor, and his guidance from day to day. I always say, the good that is done through me is the Spirit of God at work. I can only take credit for my sin. It is by grace through faith alone. I am ever grateful for his mercy, that is renewed every morning.

Son of Nun When I think of the sovereignty of God, and how he allowed Adam to make the wrong choice, my question was: why Lord? His response was clear. 1Jn. 4:19. If love is to be true, it must be a willing response. The scripture teaches us that we love him because he first loved us; so we know our love for God is responsive and never forced. If he made Adam obey, we would never have known his great love for us. How would we know healing if sickness never existed? How would we know love without hatred? Without evil, would there be any good? The difference between the believer who sins occasionally, and the sinner who lives in sin is the finished work of the cross. We can only take credit for our sin, any good that we do, it is the Lord doing it through us. If we continue to study his word and seek his mercy for our sin, we will find the grace and mercy we need. Heb. 4:14-16 When we fall, we should get up and go to him, confess our sin and believe he has forgiven us. My prayer is always a plea, to take that desire from me, or teach me to master it. The latter is our course in life. This is the sanctification process. It is called growth, and we can only learn by experience. Praise God for his mercy! Pastor Brett

You are correct. There are different levels in heaven and hell based on your deeds or performance on Earth. "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:19)." "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater damnation (Matthew 23:14)."

All of this is speculation on your part, give scripture to back this up or don’t say it please. And KWEEN you completely destroyed those verses. @@CatfishHeaven777 I maintain what I said. I study the bible in depth and have read the entire book annually for several years now. Just because you lack biblical comprehension does not mean what I stated is incorrect. I am very well versed in the utilization and application of context, which you clearly lack. As the bible says, "My people perish for the lack of knowledge," and " You do err, because you do not know the scripture." You are free to believe as you wish. Most ppl that argue with what I state normally do not and have not read the bible in entirety for themselves, nor do they know the word well and they (YOU) read it looking for things to substantiate their own personal desires, not the truth...because they don't desire the truth since it hurts. Your efforts here on Earth will determine your level of reward in Heaven and level of damnation (punishment) in hell...PERIOD. Ask God for direct confirmation of what he put in the scripture regarding that. Moses, who worked very hard to lead many to Christ as opposed to the thief who waited until the very last minute to repent (and therefore more than likely failed to do God's work) are definitely not enjoying the same LEVEL of experience in Heaven, although getting into Heaven is a blessing regardless. This same concept biblically applies on Earth as well. However, believe what you like.

I've been asked to explain the call to seek forgiveness for our daily sins by those who fear that they have not confessed all their sins before they appear before the judgment seat. If we are called to confess our sins, what is the potential for unconfessed sins to be judged when Christ returns? And if I explain that Christ's righteousness is imputed to us, I am asked why we are called to confess our sins at all.

It's these often wet messages that never convict anyone of the Lord's detestation of sin. If we do not abhor our sinful condition and continually ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, we sit on the fence. Therefore hoping God will intervene with His Grace, we become slothful and even complacent. As for the crown, we cast it staring back to the throne as unworthy worms before Him.

I’m not sure I can agree with this at the moment. There are a number of verse as to why but primarily the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Some were hired in the morning to face the brunt of the day, and some were hired in the afternoon and worked much less. At the end all received the exact same payment regardless of the amount of time they worked or the amount of work they gave. If our righteousness is Christ’s then regardless of the fruit we produce we are all still equal in righteousness and standing through the righteousness of Christ being given to us. And if we are all equal under the banner of his righteousness then how can some receive any more crowns or different crowns than the other? If you say by what you’ve done with what you were given here on earth then the merit of a distinguished crown comes from your works and not by the Christ’s. I could be wrong.

Paul makes it clear, that while we are in the flesh, sin works in it. If you think it, you have lusted for it, even if it's just for an instance, so you might as well done it. Those are the Words in the gospel, from the Word. If you have accepted Him, and truly believe the Gospel in your heart, and you are not ashamed of Him, then God, also, will not be ashamed of you. WHILE WE ARE ON OUR KNEES, we will hear, My great and mighty servant. This is not because we deserve it, we did not earn it, because we all are deserving of Hell, for there is no one good, no, not one, including me. But, it was earned, and bought and paid for, in Blood, by the Crowned Lord of Righteousness. Lay your treasures up in Heaven, because receiving eternal life, being given the Gift of Salvation, is the Treasure!! Any other crown I'm given, I definitely, will be laying mine, at the feet of Jesus, and that will mean more to me, than keeping it for myself.

Yes, for with sin, there is both Eternal and temporaral punishments, such as King David, who was forgiven, but punished for his sins by having his firstborn child die to Bathsheba. Here on earth, we can atone for the temporaral punishments due to our sins, ( 1 Perer 4:8, Daniel 4:27, Proverbs 16:6, James 5:20), as Jesus Christ our Great and Kind God and Savior, teaches, "Give alms and all shall be clean within ", ( Luke 11:41), as we must all strive for that holiness without which no one shall see the Lord, ( Hebrews 12:14), for after death, we shall each be held accountable for every careless word we have uttered and shall be judged as we have judged others, ( Matthew 12:36, Luke 6:37,48), for after death, some shall suffer loss and be saved Only as through fire, ( 1 Corinthians 3:15), where the Spirits of the just are MADE PERFECT,, ( Hebrews 12:14). Most Christians who teach about sin ignore that not all sin is forgiven, and (2) that serious sin which is forgiven shall without fail receive proper punishment or discipline. 1. 1Jn 5:16-17 DRC 16 He that knoweth his brother to sin a sin which is not to death, let him ask, and life shall be given to him, who sinneth not to death. There is a sin unto death: for that I say not that any man ask. 17 All iniquity is sin. And there is a sin unto death. 2. 1Co 11:32 Darby But being judged, we are disciplined of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. Heb 12:5-6 Darby 5 And ye have quite forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when reproved by him; 6 for whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. It is through such discipline that the Christian learns to avoid sinning. 1Pe 4:1 Darby Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, do *ye* also arm yourselves with the same mind; for he that has suffered in the flesh has done with sin, If the Christian does not learn to avoid sin, but practices serious sin, damnation occurs. Heb 10:26-27 Darby 26 For where we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and heat of fire about to devour the adversaries. This is where Jesus' words to cut the offending body member off applies since some sin may be as hard to avoid as if one had to cut off a physical body member: Mat 5:29 WEB If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. Of course, the point of damnation is decided by the Lord. Though it might be obvious to an individual.

Yet, we have no record of Adam's repentance. Go figure. Amen. I'm SK & I Approve This Message (ATM) Amen

1 Corinthians 11:26-32 KJVS [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. [30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. [31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. [32] But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

If You Have Been Forgiven For Your Sins Why would Almighty GOD Make You Answer For Them ? If You Owe me a hundred Dollars And I Forgive You The Debt ! Do You Still Owe me A Hundred Dollars ? No ! And When Almighty GOD Forgives Your Sins They Are Completely Forgotten !

That was spot-on very well put. If ever at any point your salvation depends on your behavior then it is not of Christ that we are saved.

NO-ONE should compare themselves with the Lord Jesus Christ irrespective of your justification. We are SAVED BY the GRACE of JESUS NOT by anything we have DONE. I would NOT DARE say that in front of God!!!

The Lord Jesus suffered approximately 2000 years ago, long before any of us were even thought of in life, never mind committed any sin. Christ His own self, bare our sins in His own body on the tree. When He had by himself purged our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. The Lord Jesus has bore the wrath of God against sin, and He has purged them. That means they are gone for good. God who foreknew the sins, laid them on Christ, so there are none that God did not know about. The Christian is judged for his service, as to whether in the flesh or in the Spirit, whether good or bad. Sin is not in the question. There is a condition however in Life. We reap whatsoever we sow. If we steal, and become a Christian, that deed must be owned and paid for. If we commit murder and become a Christian, then we must confess it to the police and suffer the consequences. We reap what we sow.

Why do none seem to be able to grasp the true "moral of the story" in the parable of talents/minas/pounds?? One reason is because that parable is so simple everybody gets it or so it seems, and that is just it, people think they get it, and in thinking that they look no further and, if need be, most will settle for the preachers interpretation as was expressed in the video by Ferguson because it seems to make "minas/cents " to them. Whoa now, not so fast. In verse 21 the man referred to by his Lord as a wicked servant mentions some unfavorable things about his Lord in honesty which would require a good amount of courage. such as gathering where he does not lay down and reaping where he does not sow. Does this not seem indicative of corruption present in his Lord's ways to anyone?? in the following verse the servant's Lord verifies this by his own words and even reveals that his Lord is also a partaker in obtaining gain by engaging in usury as well!! The so called, "wicked servant called his Lord a cheat and a thief and his Lord verified it and then some!! And, what does it profit a man, as seen through the eyes of God, to be raised and praised by the immoral and corrupt??

Stupid question, how can what has been divinely forgiven be subsequently judged??? the Born Again child of God will be judged/rewarded on what he has done with his gifts as scripture tells us in the Parable of the Talents. The unbeliever stands before the Great White Throne to receive sentence of punishment, the believer stands before the Bema Seat to receive judgement or reward.

I agree with your conclusion. But why is it a stupid question? If it’s a stupid question, why are there answers for it in the Bible?

Because he repented with a contrite heart and abandoned himself to the mercy of Yahweh, who is slow to anger and abounding in mercy. Contrast that with Saul , who when faced with his sin, chose pride over humility, and was stripped of his kingship. Yahweh weighs the heart of people.

Babylon manipulated them to sin. The only thing they answer for is their strength to resist the inclination of defilement. God just wants us all to get some gains. The devil is the force in which we push back, maximizing our gains each time. Do you even lift? (Lift your brothers, sister and elders up) god stretches down his hand and it’s swole with spiritual strength

We all answer for our sins.. The consequences are intrinsic to the sin..There is no escape..Except that we Repent. You cannot be saved from sin until you stop sinning! Jesus Righteousness Does Not Cover ours. Jesus Came to Teach us and Help us Not to Sin..and gave us Forgiveness in the meantime..because He knew this would be difficult. When we Obey Jesus Sayings and Seek Jesus and His Righteousness..as He asked us..He will Give us everything we Need and Deliver us from evil." The question is: are you Humble enough to Do it Jesus Way? Or are you looking for easy ways, substitute ways, and excuses?
@chrisa69805 жыл бұрын
I think you might have missed the mark. Obviously, as believers we all strive to get better and better each day. But the idea that a person can stop sinning is impossible. He knows all our sins, past present and future. We ARE covered by the righteousness of Christ.
