Any legal action should start with the ACC. The protocols (a contract) were signed off on by all the conference commisioners. The committee ignored their protocols. You've got video of them talking about criteria that are supposed to be "tie breakers" between teams with similar records. 13-0 and 12-1 are not similar records that need a "tie breaker."

You may not even need to win a lawsuit either to destroy the CFP. If a lawsuit happens, and this goes through discovery, the inner workings of the committee would be revealed. If this uncovers things such as ESPN influencing who gets in, that would de-legitimize the CFP as a national championship. Even if a lawsuit goes nowhere, the reputational damage will have been done anyway. It would be a lose the battle, win the war type situation.

How does UGA who won 29 in a row and had their top 3 pass cathers, top O-lineman, leader on D(Dumas Johnson) hobbled or out in the SEC title game and they get left out? Georgia had a November for the ages. Beat Missouri and blew out Ole Miss and Tenn on the road. Ole Miss also beat LSU and only loss to the 2 SEC powers. People think a CFP w/out Bama and Georgia who are the 2 most Proven teams should be left out? These are the 2 top programs, 2 best coaches, and 2 most talented rosters who've won on many occasions on the field. My point is this argument needs to go somewhere else and NOT the SEC. Greg Sanky the commissioner of the SEC has been promoting the idea that the SEC MUST be represented in the playoffs by at least two teams for the last three weeks. ESPN bought into it and promoted it as well. - The ACC commissioner Jim Phillips has been silent and invisible. He has once again (remember his "aliance?"} shown himself to be incompetent and a step behind and clearly making bad decisions. Boob Cardigan is a comic figure who is in his position at NC State because of family ties and is the sort of no backbone clown who makes a living attending meetings and just going along. FSU, UM, Clemson are only tarnishing their value as a brand by remaining in the ACC. All serious football programs in the ACC are poorly served and MUST LEAVE as soon as possible. I find it a little hypocritical FSU fans complaining about a process they benefited from many years ago. Firstly, They have every right to be upset, because results on the field should be the only factor weighted, unless there is a tie breaker needed(which should be strength of schedule). WINS is all that matters, in every other sport known to man, that is whats used to determine playoffs. When one allows subjectivity, thats how corruption takes hold. It should always be the most deserving teams. Knowing the "4 best" is impossible to know. Until last week UGA was the fav against Bama, Michigan was the fav over TCU last year, thats why the games are played, because "WHOS BEST" cant be determined by looking at paper. IN 1993, a 1 Loss FSU replaced an UNDEFEATED BIGEAST Champs WVU. FSU Lost to Notre Dame. Notre Dame Lost to Boston College the next week. WVU BEAT Boston College the very next week after their big win over Notre Dame.... Those 3 games happened in sequence, week to week to week. No unbiased logical human would look at that and rank a 1 loss FSU ahead of an undefeated WVU. WVU had 10 P5 wins + Eastern Michigan, including 4 ranked teams Louisville #17, Boston College #11, Miami #4, and a 9-3 VTech that ended the season #22. However FSU was a more popular program, so they was put ahead of WVU. People like Danny Kanell talking about "popularity contest" is hilarious, since that is why he has a ring.

I have no beef with the 93 Mountaineers and your points about WVU are true but 1993 was 5 years before the BCS era and sports writers did like Bobby Bowden, WVU should have tried to keep him. I have seen the 1993 issue brought up a few times and I think it was a contributing factor for bringing about the BCS system. Common opponent scores from 1993: FSU 28 Miami 10, WVU 17 Miami 14 both teams were home for Miami. FSU 49 Maryland 20, WVU 42 Maryland 37 both games at Maryland. FSU had 11 P5 wins in the season including #21 Clemson, #13 NC, #3 Miami and #7 UF FSU on the season had 518 point for and 113 points against and Points/G: 39.8 (1st of 106 teams) also FSU's defense posted 4 shutouts and 3 games the opponent only scored single digits WVU was good but not that good. I didn't include the last common opponent above since WVU played them in the in the bowl FSU 33 UF 21, WVU 7 UF 41

1. WTF is wrong with the people who assume W/L records are the only determinate to rankings? By that logic, the 4 best teams should be Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Liberty. Therefore, W/L is ONLY one criterion. 2. The people arguing that FSU should have been 4th already defeat their own logic. Don't even come saying that FSU is the 4th best team and then argue W/L record because in that scenario you are accepting a 1 loss Texas to be over you. You MUST start your argument with how FSU should have been ranked 3rd and that the 4th slot should have been between Texas and Alabama or again, you have ZERO credibility! 3. FSU is the ONLY Top-10 team that did NOT play a current Top-10 opponent ranked in the Top-10. Therefore for the sake of SoS comparison, their schedule is as relevant as Liberty because they are unproven and a P5 schedule only matters if you play Top-10 P5 talent. 4. For all of the talk about wanting better OOC football matchups, it is better to reward a team for playing the most high level competition than penalizing them for losing. By rewarding FSU with a weak schedule, future teams will schedule weak. By establishing a precedent to keep 1 loss teams who schedule heavy relevant to undefeated teams who don't will incentivise better matchups in the future. 5. The standard for the Top-4 is BEST. No FSU fan can logically say that FSU is the 3rd best team. Therefore, making Texas No. 3 automatically neutralizes the record between Alabama and FSU and brings the 2 teams to par. This means that undefeated FSU is = to 1 loss Alabama because the ONLY team Bama lost to is No. 3 and No. 3 has a loss. If you are an FSU fan, please tell me that you understand the mathematical consequence of accepting a rank less than a 1 loss Texas team? Therefore a 1 loss Alabama directly behind a 1 loss Texas can now be compared equally to an undefeated FSU for the 4th position. 6. Alabama has the MOST Top-25 wins and contests among playoff contenders and the hardest SoS. 7. If FSU wants to PROVE that they belonged in the playoffs, go PROVE the committee wrong by WINNING the Orange Bowl. When Alabama got snubbed for TCU last year, Alabama didn’t cry like FSU about it. In FACT, the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft went with Will Anderson on the field like Champions do, and played their last bowl game to make a statement. Bama IS the standard and IF you want the benefit of the doubt, don't act like a 8!tch, FSU! 8. Literally, the ONLY qualification that FSU has for the No. 4 spot is record and I already debunked that myth. In fact, Georgia should have been ranked 5th. Talk to Auburn (Undefeated SEC Champs going 12-0 in 2004 but was left out of the championship game in favor of USC and Oklahoma) or TCU and Baylor (Both undefeated in 2014) but were BOTH snubbed in favor of Ohio State (a 1 loss team who did not even compete in its Conference Championship that year) or UCF who went undefeated in 2017 and was snubbed for the playoffs. No committee should be involved. Each P4 conference should get the same amount of teams in. No deciding by a poll, or committee. The top 2 or 3 from each P4 conference should get in auto. The committee is nothing but a cover up for the favoritism and cheating. The Acc, and Big 12 should not agree to participate unless it's on equal grounds with an equal amount of teams. I will state the facts. This always happened every year since this playoff started 10 years ago. You know better than that--5 goes for 4 spots and one must missed the party. During those 10yrs they had plenty of time to fix the problems. People from other conferences are blocking them from fixing them. There is 2 main reason that we still have this problem.
