The plain tulip bouquets need some kind of filler or greenery. Perception sells bouquets. I have been in the industry for more than 30 years and even though we know value, price point, cost of goods etc.... A buyer on Sees what they See. Simple tulips alone just do not have the perceptive value for a buyer. Juice the bouquets up with some simple filler or greens and they will go faster. I always enjoy your videos and get so excited for your market days. I wish you the very best of luck this season!!

Big YES to the white canopy!
@chillmcgren200 Жыл бұрын
The white tent makes a huge difference in how your flowers look! But it was a punch of color that was part of your brand and may have helped customers find you. Could you (in your copious spare time, lol) add a red border to the bottom or something else to give it that punch-from-a-distance? Maybe some red balloons on the corners?
@YouCantEatTheGrass Жыл бұрын
I've thought about a red banner along the front but haven't had time yet
@rccyberwarrior2267 Жыл бұрын
@@YouCantEatTheGrass I prefer the red roof tent as it coincides with your farm name and stands out at the market -- a white "black out fabric" liner on the underside of the red roof would keep the look of the flowers true to their colour (IMHO). All the best in this new market season.
@lindis2660 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with the branding. Could you paint the sign in the back? (The roof portion red?) or put the red cover over the white? Not sure if that would work, but you need “the red roof!” Love your channel! Best wishes for a successful season.

Hey... I was wondering: maybe the the branche with the leaves on them was the trick of last years success with the tulips (probably not hte timer for them yet?)? The one stick does look a bit lost for me, the few leaves last year filled up the space and made it look full even with the closed flowers. Just a thought. Anyways: I loved your flowers and I know you will be a success because your flowers are just gorgous. And you are great observers so you will find out what your customers want from you this year. Looking forward to your postings and following you along!

So glad to see these videos again! I love market videos. Congrats on your first weekend of sales! I wonder if last years bouquets sold better because they appeared to be fuller in the videos and photos. Is that because they were more open? Or more stems? Thats my guess, maybe the leaves last year drew folks attention in more.

The tulips are beautiful. Just a suggestion. Rearrange your booth so that there is a table on both sides and a third across the top (u shaped). This brings people inside your booth to see flowers on three different tables. Once inside, they may be more likely to buy because they will be closer to more flowers.
@YouCantEatTheGrass Жыл бұрын
We used to have that layout, but it limited how many people would shop the table. They would all wait to take turns entering the u, and so we would only have 1 customer at a time. With this layout, customers will engage with the stand 3 groups at a time. This layout brought up our total market sales. But, I agree, it's super important to keep trying out new layouts to find what will work best - I would have never thought this layout would be so successful, and I prefer the look of the u

Yes, I’d make the roof in the logo red.
@heyy13 Жыл бұрын
I agree with some of the others in the comments. The red roof may have impacted the colour of the flowers, but it was a massive point of difference and made your stall stand out. You either need a big red banner or some other solution as at the moment you've lost your branding.

@sandrajohnson9926 Жыл бұрын
Flowers will be smaller. If you use blood meal & bone meal to help feed them, that could help revive them. It takes sometime for that fertilizer to break down & is usable.

Funny because I would think that customers identify you by the red top because you're the Red roof family farm. The white definitely looks better on the flowers. I'm wondering if you could double them I know that's double the work. Where the whites on the inside and the red is on the outside for the customers.

hey guys! I was wondering if you thought of mixing fresh flowers with dried in the same bouquet? here in romania florists do this, and it looks very cool! also, in the spring, they sell pots of tulips, bunches of 3-5-7, depends on the pot size. this way you should be able to keep them longer and no need to pull them, as you simply sow directly in pots. hope this ideas inspire you
@YouCantEatTheGrass Жыл бұрын
We've mixed fresh and dry before - I like the look, but the dried stems can make a mess of the water so it's better for event work

I think it would be so so helpful to have a bouquet in full bloom - at the market and in the roadside stand - just folks can see what it is going to look like.
@thejealousmagpie Жыл бұрын
you can cut woodies with that flower cutter, you just have to push them all the way back. The further you push your stems back the easier it is to cut through more or more firm stems (tulips are so fleshy it doesn't matter of course).
@YouCantEatTheGrass Жыл бұрын
The thick branches fit the cutter. I also split the end of the branch, so I have to clip them anyways
