I think this is how they should progress the story to bring the rest of the primarchs back. All of them. Bobby G finds Corax hunting Lorgar in the Eye. He finds Russ in Nurgle's Garden getting the Tears of Isha that then allows the Big E to have more of a focus to affect things in the material world and the Eye (but not enough for him to come back fully cuz that would end the setting IMO), he finds some Eldar relic that allows him to cross into Comorragh to rescue the Khan from being stuck in some Dark Eldar webway or portal realm. The anger of the Chaos Gods stirs the remaining demon primarchs to action. You can see where I am going. This invasion ultimately leads wtih every remaining primarch loyal and chaos entering both the lore AND the tabletop with models and rules with various campaign books. I think it would be glorious.

@@maxwellfujs6124 No. Primaris are designed to be 100% loyal to the emperor. Their loyalty is part of their indoctrination, their programming. The firstborn were loyal to their primarchs due to their genetic bond. Primaris are created differently. With the emperors knowledge available to him, Cawl most likely used similar techniques as used for the Custodes to guarantee their loyalty to the emperor. So dont expect Chaos Primaris anytime. They have their choosen and maybe some heresy veteran units as future pendants ingame.

@@Fackeldackel I respectfully disagree (but I like your name!). Can you cite where Primaris might be immune to chaos? I couldn't find that anywhere in the wiki, nor could I find it in any book I've read. The only thing I could find that corroborates your position is that Primaris gene seed has exceptionally low deviancy, so there is a virtually-but-not-impossible chance that they will never suffer a genetic mutation. All space marines, loyalist or chaos, are indoctrinated, and while I personally think it's a double-edged sword in the first place, indoctrination can be broken. The sway of chaos was too much for half the primarchs, so it follows that their sons are also susceptible. I think a good example of the potential (not overt turn) for heresy is in the short story about the Brazen Dragons Primaris chapter, which was attacked by the Custodes and Sisters of Silence for their refusal to follow an order. The seeds of heresy are sown quietly. I completely agree that the Primaris are not loyal to the chapter like the Firstborn, and that's demonstrated in many stories. I'd also head-canon give a pass to the Custodes and Grey Knights for their close ties - proximal and spiritual - to the Emperor. But just because the Primaris are closer to their Primarchs and to Mars than they are to the Emperor doesn't mean they couldn't hypothetically turn. It's only a matter of time before Fabius Bile gets a hold of Primaris gene seed and creates some abomination, or begins to splice it with the current Emperor's Children seed to create stronger warriors... just like any art, as soon as it's out in the public, it's fair game for anyone.

And just because Bile might get his hands on Primaris geens doesn't mean he will understand it. Compared to Cawl he is an amateur. From a gameplay and merchandise perspective it doesn't make sense either. Chaos Space Marines are archaic, compared to their loyal brothers. This ancient character is part of their charm. Giving them the new shiny toys of the Imperium as well would ruin their flair, something GW has been avoiding for several editions. Chaos Space Marines get their sorcery and demons to even out their lack in technology and industrial capacity. So again: No Primaris Space Marines until GW explicitly says so. And i see no reason for them doing so. The new codex will be out soon, then we will see.

@@Fackeldackel the ornate nature of the power armor is a huge draw for the consumer, I totally agree, and it's probably one of the coolest aesthetics in the game. Lore-wise however, Chaos scavenges armor, gear, and gene seed whenever they can, so I can't see them existing in a Primaris-free bubble, even if the Dark Mechanicum has to reverse-engineer stuff. Also Bile made viable Primarch clones and has devoted the last 10k years to immortality... I can't write him off!

While the idea is interesting. The imperium does not have the forces to win a full scale war. Dante still needs time to rebuild his area for new war. Then both sides should fight to restore the passage to each other. While building up the imperial navy to go attack the Tyrannids in space. A new ship type made of super dense armor mounting vast numbers of plasma cannons to burn away the fleet. Only attacking as a fleet once a worlds biomass is ready for transfer to the fleet. Then as much force as can be used to destroy the planet. Slow down the tryannids as you build up the navy and Space Marine chapters,and imperial army.

It would be awesome for Guilliman to find any one of his Loyal brother. But Dorn, Russ, and Corax are somewhere in the eye. So without and invasion into the eye I don't think any of those three will be found anytime soon. And Dorn is possible KIA as only his hand was recovered. The Lion location is only known to the chapter master of the Dark Angels. And we all know that the Dark Angels are very good at keeping secrets. Jagatai is lost in the webway so using his eldar allies it's very likely he might be the next you found as well as the easiest to find for Guilliman. As for Vulcan he was last seen falling into a planet core. So no trace to follow but he is a perpetual so he could just pop up somewhere at anytime. So all in all the only brother he has a way to look for is Jagatai.

Right up until Mortis, Abnett had been running his own show, but I guess he's big enough in BL to get his concepts and plotlines canonised in general lore by other authors. It's just.... Valdor is too Big a Name. If the Beqiun storyline really gets to fire all its guns, it will become absolutely central lore. That never really happens for Black library novels. They catch up to codex's and campaign guides, not the other way around.

I don't see it being Greyshields but veterans from Chapters who pass a Chaos resistance test of some kind, along with some other Imperial factions. I don't see the Eldar joinning unless it was to fight specifically against Slaanesh, though he might find a way to get the Tau. More likely he will already have met Corvus and it is meeting this Warp changed brother that would be what gives him the idea to invade. This could also count for a a Warp changed Leman Russ (just assuming what happened to Corvus happened to him as well). With one of these brothers at the head of the Crusade.

I feel like at this point they could shut the eye without ruining the story because they could just say the Maelstrom zone got bigger or something. It would just push chaos into a different location while still having a nice advancement of story that doesn't have to imply an end times.

IMO The Monoliths of Cadia is the answer. The Imperium needs to find contact the one Necron who activated the monoliths of Cadia. Maybe he can show the Mechanius how to build them.

It’s a fools errand to invade the eye, but at this point, he may not even have a choice. With most of the imperium within literal throwing distance for the chaos gods, I could see him contacting the tau or far sight colony, signing treats and forging alliances so as they can have a united front against the maelstrom and hopefully clear it out which Guilliman would hopefully get another Primarch at this point. If he hasn’t, then he could still plan an offensive which could see a locking down of warp routes which could potentially connect the two halves of the imperium. Invading the eye would be a HUGE RISK, but could potentially give out a much greater reward if successful. I think he should hold off until he establishes a few more alliances and at least makes it where he isn’t standing on gravel.

This will most likely open up the possibility of not only seeing traitor primarchs but also missing loyalist ones too. Would love to see GW play with the prospects of bringing back Russ, The Khan or Dorn (one can only hope). Corax will also be perfect to see in this story line. (we need more ravenlord and his legion/chapter). Another good story that would be good is the Ynnari and that believed crone sword to be in Slannesh's domain. GW should really explore this avenue as it is perfect for the setting going forward.

Interesting concept. You’d need a lot of forces to pull this off. Firstly, I don’t think the Astra Militarum should be sent in - regiments of regular humans? Easily corrupted in a dimension full of daemons. You want Astartes (new founding of Primaris would be ideal), Custodes (probably in short supply), Sisters of Battle and Sisters of Silence. Guilliman would need a lot of force to execute it.

@@Ishkaga02 Read savage Scars, a white scar novel about Jagathai getting to Terra to learn more, the wiki does not really say much details about it, but basically its smaller, portable version of the golden throne made out of black crystals, most likely Eldar tech, works exactly like golden throne. Jagathai used it to find a warpway to Terra throught a warp storm. Also, it uses psychers as bateries, a powerful white scars librarians sat on it for a short time and died, drained of life/soul. Neither Scars pr GW tells where does it come from or who made it. Most likely its an old age of technology tech mixed with Eldar tech found by and experimented by Emperor to create psychic beacons in the warp. It literally shows ships/navigators where to go. Its implied Emps wanted to use these things to someday invide the warp itself.

BL and GW have to play the long game. If they go too fast and all Primarchs return immediately, they’ll officially start a doomsday clock. But I think your series of events makes sense - you can’t keep Cawl away from tech. He’ll ultimately be the one to contain the warp storm, perhaps with the help of the Silent King. I’m hoping each returned loyalist Primarch is changed by time somehow, Setting them apart from the Horus Heresy minis. Like perhaps Russ is part wolf or moldy and Corax is like half a whirlwind of Ravens. I’m so excited to see Angron’s new model whenever that drops, he looks so badass in the art. And a Fulgrim v Fulgrim story would be so cool too…

@@maxwellfujs6124 you are right, they will not release all that in, let say, a year.. probably it will spawn over three years.. but they have so much material that, even with a primarch a year, it still is a 10+ years of material.. not to mention that a primarch is "just" one character.. every one of thaem has a lot of named character, like chapter master, heroes and the like.. really, just the emperor and the tree of life theory can bring 10 years of development into the story.. plus there is some extra stuff they can do to widen the consumer base.. like an animated series OR, a serious budget TV series or movie.. can you imagine Hanry Cavill (which probably has enough money and contact to bootstrap the production on his own) playing.. Valdor? or Valerian? can you imagine a two movies Valerian and Aleya movie? that will bring millions to the game.. sure, not all of them will stick.. but they have so many possibilities that it is exciting just to sit around and watch

We have seen that since his reawakening and massive spike in psychic power, his mere psychic presence hurts Chaos, and can banish demons or at least cause then to willingly leave the material plane. I wonder what sort of mischief he would cause simply manifesting within their home turf?

Have you been following? Guilliman might actually have a shot with custodes and the emperor backing him. If they don't do anything like they've been doing, it's just gonna continue to get worse. he's got eldar on his side too, and his mechanic working on the black crystals. Personally I hope we get some Luther action. Maybe get lion in the game too.

My head canon is that you can’t kill their primarchs - they psychically transfer consciousness between bodies when it’s convenient, similar to the immortality of a perpetual. I can’t wait to see what crazy crap the Alpha Legion will be up to in the future.

I don't think that would be a great idea for them, not unless they get a better way of navigating the warp storms. The Chaos Legions are at home in those storms and would ambush the crap out of them. And I don't think besiegingThe Impossible Fortress on Medrengaard is a great idea either. It would be the Iron Cage times a hundred!

I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of the idea from a narrative perspective. We've just had Cadia break and that was absolutely cataclysmic in terms of the lore. A multi-legion invasion of the Eye is some seriously apocalyptic shit and as such it could only possibly disappoint. The Imperium Vs Chaos IS 40k so it's not like Guilliman could be allowed to win. Likewise, Guilliman has (understandably) become the literal proxy of the Emperor, so it's not like they can kill him off. So they'd be left with yet another cheap stalemate to go along with Octarius, Vraks, the 13th Black Crusade and Armageddon. Lol Armageddon. Remember when a few Orks on some backwater world was enough to get every Space Marine and his dog to turn up? From a lore perspective it just doesn't seem feasible. While the "population" of the Eye of Terror is never given, it could theoretically be greater than the population of the Imperium. Why? Because the Eye might be a fixed location in realspace, but it's really just a door to the Warp. Inside is not only (I think) a Chaotic mirror of at least our own galaxy, but it's a galaxy in which the rules of reality don't apply. You don't necessarily need an infrastructure sufficient to support the number of people that live there because Slaanesh can just magic up a pocket dimension full of food and water. Their buildings aren't limited by physics, their leaders don't need to worry about politics and resource management and they're presumably not forced to go where the natural resources are. So long story short, the Eye of Terror could entirely feasibly be home to a higher total population than the entire Imperium. And that's just the humans - there are entire alien races that have been fully corrupted by Chaos and I can't see why they wouldn't also take up residence in the Eye. The Saruthi, the Laer, the Enslavers, etc. So you could end up with several species occupying an unlimited amount of space, completely independent of natural resources and inherently suicidally aggressive. Even the Primaris will run out of bolts eventually! If we must have an invasion of the Eye, I'd like to see some very limited objectives. For instance: 1, Destroy Chaos shipyards and forgeworlds. 2, Capture Lorgar in a silver cage made from the melted down icons of Monarchia and bring him before the Emperor. 3, Find and catalogue any evidence of the existence of any Loyalist Primarch still at large in the Eye. It would cost millions of lives and take the Imperium centuries to recover (at least) but at least it would be somewhat feasible and actually have a net positive effect for the Imperium.

the necrons, space elves, and space marines should all join the crusade. elves get soul stones, necrons rebuild pylons, and humans destroy 1 or 2 traitor worlds before withdrawing. at the end, the eye of terror should be recontained, abbadon should be wounded for a couple thousand years so someone new can take his place and the necrons should double cross the humans and do something idk

I can see a defensive line formation around the Eye but the risk of going into Chaos dominion with choas dripping in and having Choatic choke up the only way out would be devasting.

The warp doesnt really have any mass, its more a realm of thought than anything phisical, Like the chaos gods even dont feed off actual warp energy but simply actions

@@informationyes warp mass was just a term to describe their being, don’t think of it literally . They have an essence , soul , whatever we want to call it they exist . When they die in our reality their essence is banished for a period of time until they recover strength . What if tyranids discovered this and adapt to consume it 🤔. They would have access directly to the warp with the cicatrix wide open
