I really hope that they establish they’re not retreading old ground by showing how Joy has grown from the last film. Maybe she is hesitant, but accepting of the new emotions and wants to figure out how they can work with her just like she did with Sadness.

im really sure Inside Out 2 will do good if not better than the original. the animation has improved a lot and is more vibrant and the concepts and jokes being shown physically is very interesting and funny. I’ve been waiting for this movie let alone the announcement for the movie for years and so far it’s looking really good. but I do hope all 9 emotions end up being friends or something at the end, it’ll be really nice

Right. I'm not sure I'd really call Anxiety a villain, just a well-intentioned extremist who thinks she's doing what's best for Riley. Maybe Joy can redeem her (though Anxiety isn't evil) and they can all be healthy together.

One thing I hope for Inside Out 2 is that it will still continue the deep topics handling like the first movie giving that Riley has aged up a year to officially being a teenager and that there are four new emotions which are based around how teenagers show their expressions.

I really am looking forward to Inside Out 2. It’s actually one of those Disney sequels that I think can work and can tackle some more serious themes. I don’t expect to be as good as the first film but I could be wrong. I just hope this reactions don’t end up as divisive as the latest DreamWorks sequel.

I never thought they'd make a sequel, but I actually don't mind that they're making one. I can only hope for the best. Incredibles 2 was the only Pixar sequel I REALLY look forward to, but it was a HUGE let-down.

Great review as always Marngel! I too am intrigued to see what Inside Out 2 brings to the table. I do hope this sequel keeps the messages from the first movie and not cop out and make it meaningless. While I am a little disappointed that Fear and Digust’s OG voice actors didn’t come back, I think these new ones are actually ok and do a good job of filling in for them. I love the new emotions they introduced as well. I hope they aren’t annoying characters. Sorry that you had a rough March (mines wasn’t that much better) but this video helped me cheer up a lot! I can’t wait for your reviews of the other franchises (especially Cars and what you think of the franchise as a casual Pixar fan).

The concept of the 4th dimension is easy to understand. Think of a sphere in the 3rd dimension getting bigger then getting smaller. 4th dimensional beings could see through you, also they can time travel

The problem with movie sequels is that the original movies aren’t designed to extend the story

Well, Star Wars was designed to extend the story since the Empire is still out there and destroying their ultimate weapon doesn’t mean their automatic defeat. Plus, with Darth Vader’s survival, Tarkin mentioning the Emperor as the leader of the Empire and this Empire obviously going to go after the Rebels for the destruction of the Death Star and the deaths of thousands of their troops, officers, and soldiers including an important person in the Empire like Tarkin, it’s obvious the story isn’t over.

Inside out 2 looks promising. I don’t know if that’s saying much because, ironically, inside out never emotionally clicked with me, despite being a very emotional/sensitive person. I’m not hyped or anything but it does look like it’ll click with me more. Only complaint I have is that I don’t like how quirky they made this anxiety character from what we’ve seen as it’s something that’s seriously effected me before and I’d like to see it more portrayed in the way puss in boots 2 does

Inside out I think had ways to continue the story I would have done a story about driving a car , working a job, or falling in love and going on a date under pressure to do well. the problem with Inside out is they SAY on the commentary that They had ideas for using more emotions and they decided very wisely that you CAN NOT give equal time to more then 4 charters and get to know them in 2 hours. the LARGER the cast is the LESS we know about them. This is why Toy Story was always a Woody and Biz story why Monster's Inc was always Mike and Sully Toy story I feel needs to move away from Andy's toys and do other things in universe. Monsters Inc has the possibility to be interesting on a forward time line Incredibles can be fun if they really push the ages of the cast forward and grow every one up Considerably Cars never had my attention Bug life has oddly never had a sequel and it feel over due Finding Nemo feels done Coco feels done Soul feels done Wall-E could dive in to how humans return to Earth and rebuild it. Up feels done and the actor died too Buz lightyear was a horrible misstep but I would encourage a Woody film elemental, never saw Brave could connect to new stories Turning Red could do more Ratatouille I have no ideas for Luca could explore more ideas or it could stay done elemental never saw but it seems to have too few characters What I want from Pixar is to keep doing important topics while never talking down, never being easily quickly dated and never being so heavy handed with an in your face message that its strong bias and unwillingness to validate an 2nd opinion destroys your will to view it. The Best Pixar films deal with topics Puberty growing up having the love of your life die moving away too many lawsuits importance of family Pixar needs to continue to cover puberty relationships culture respect consequences fear pressure death loss Tackle subjects that we are afraid to discuss, that make us uncomfortable that are controversial and do it in a respectful way. Show people that certain topics are important to certain people and that discussing them didn't destroy human society moving forward means taking the 1st step in to stories we have long been afraid to tell. Do some thing that's never been done in kid targeted animation before. the moment we play it safe, movies die. As for other story telling rules Don't make the cast too huge don't make the cast too OP and flawless don't explain the joke be willing to cut when things go too long

@@jjtheraccoon61 Inside Out 2 was not nearly as funny, was much more childish, and much less nuance in its story. The villain was barely a villain of the week, it's ending wasn't great, especially one specific part of it, and the movie just wrote out the Furious Five. I hope that this movie keeps the same amount of maturity, humor, and great characters.
