I wonder if you would be willing to restore the car and then sell it back to the original owner. He seems really heartbroken by it's loss.

I am the last owner of the car. Man; watching that video makes me sad and happy at the same time. Happy to see it revived but sad I had to let it go. I really loved that car; maybe too much. The video was excellent and I can't wait to see it finished. So glad that you posted the pictures so everyone could see how magnificent she was and will be again. Thanks!!!!

Fire inspector said he thought it was carburetor. That's all I was told. It always ran and drove fine. No problems. It sputtered and stopped running that day then came the smoke so we 3 senior citizens jumped out with a quickness. I had it 4 yrs. Came from Kentucky from 82 yr old who brought it from family that owned it originally. Was not a funeral car although 82 yo said a funeral home tried to buy it off him before I bought it. It always got attention anytime I took it for a drive. I've been looking for another one but they are hard to find. At least I got to enjoy it as long as I did.

I gotta tell ya. The last minute was all it took to keep tears back. This is not a '63 Corvette split or a blacktop-and-gold '66 GTO... but the previous owner really enjoyed his pride and joy and took excellent care of this exceptional ride. I feel for him not being able to have the kind of luck that should go hand-in-hand with wonderful car care. It is now in the very capable and caring hands of a pair of pros - and I can't wait to see this black beauty rolling down the Carolina backroads in all her classic glory. Happy trails!!!

Those old nailheads sound so good. These new cars with modern V8s just don't have the same sound as the old stuff. Nothing like a good old carbureted V8 without cats. I miss the days when you got to see and hear those cars on the road every day. Now it's rare to see somethign even from the '90s still on the road.

One of my favorite cars was my old 67 Electra 225. This car appears to deserve a full restoration. What a beautiful car! Once you get it running and driving you will never want to give it up. These old Buicks are so smooth and powerful with just the right amount of luxury. You were fortunate to obtain this amazing car for $1200.

Even with the damage, this is a beautiful car. I would love to have been able to see it before the fire. The previous owner clearly took good care of it and loved it. I know they were sick over letting it go. I am surprised they did though. Put a few grand into this one, and you will have a show piece.

For the intensity of the fire in that engine compartment it doesn't look that bad. Was in an accident in 67 Wildcat back in the 80's, drunk hit in the rear sitting at stop light at about 35mph, no real damage felt like someone bumped the couch.

Having owned several 401 nailheads Rivieras, LeSabres etc. An old school set of Corvair type 'Turbo' muffler duals produces the deepest sweetest sound you ever heard from a V8. My 63 LeSabre convert is still remembered as being called 'Thunder' by those whom heard her 30 years ago.

I purchased a 1964 Electra 225 when I was in high school in 1970. The owner couldn't get it to run right and refused to take it to a shop. I purchased it for $500 dollars, which was a lot when new cars were only $4000 dollars then... Turns out it had the 401cu. in. and would run and stop... I found the carburetor was loose. I tightened it down correctly and it ran perfect. Took off that giant muffler and put dual pipes on it... Amazing how fast that big boat was... happy gas was only 29 cents a gal. in 1970... enjoy!

My friend’s dad a 1964 Electra 225 in 1964. It was a dark green exterior and I think a gray interior. I had a ride once and I remember the comfort and smoothness of the ride. This brings back some memories! Excellent as always Mike and your Dad!
