The navy uses fluid film on all exposed mechanisms and electrical connections. Grab a pail next time TSC has a sale.Love the old Massey, Jim

Glad you got your Massey Ferguson running. I have tire chains on my 1958 Massy Ferguson 50 and it helps a lot in the snow.

Yes indeed I've been on the look out for a set of chains but no luck yet. I hope your 50 runs as good our 35

Let me know if I can be of help, Some of the stuff is a bit odd on these old tractors

@@JimsNBHomestead I replaced the grounding strap and voltage reg. the key switch is coming in today. Next I may need to delve into the dist.cap and all that as she runs rough when she runs. Gotta re-rout the exhaust too. blows right in my face.lol I got her knowing I'd have to work on her but I'm not a great mechanic and have little to no experience so it's an uphill battle.lol
@raymondhoule61082 жыл бұрын
@@JimsNBHomestead Well, Key switch wasn't the issue. Was in need of replacing anyhow but I still need to figure out what could be causing her to not get power to the starter. Weird.

Mine is giving me hell. Cranks... Good fire.. no start
@JimsNBHomestead Жыл бұрын
ok if you have good cranking it must have good battery. Do you spark?, Do you have fuel?. When did it last run? You may need to check for compression as well. The fuel system is prone to having issues caused by dirt. The brass fitting at the carb has screen in it which can get clogged.

@@JimsNBHomestead all of the above.. was moving a 350 into Garage. Died.. wasn't sure what happened. Coil was swollen...but I still had fire.. looked weak. Replaced coil. Points where fried tho.. cleaned them all little fired right up. Ran 2 minutes and died. replaced them still no start.. so I check fuel bowl for fuel. Plenty. But thought maybe broke timing chain.. valve ect... Pulled tank and valve cover to check rockers ect... Didn't have compression gauge with me. But all functional. Ect... So maybe I got junk in needle seat valve in carb.. lol I even checked timing.. 6 before ..points barely open on distr cam... New cap rotor... tested condenser. Leaving now to get new solenoid switch and key switch. Will the governor stop it from firing. Clean carb next ...great fire to plugs.. crazy man

@justicebruno5249 did u figure out? I'm having same problem. Was running perfect. Then shut off next day nothing has spark.

@@wilsonbobcatservice4151 yes I replaced points. But the condenser was bad. Kept burning the points up. And fast .
