28:21 Wow. That's an outstanding job. It takes some real stones to look at a boat in this condition and say, "Yeah. I can bring that back."

It’s a testament to the durability of fiberglass & Resin ! It’s a labor of love and it keeps you young and active ! I had to check your list on your other videos before I kept watching this one to see if you completed your project ! 👍

That 90 Horse sounds so good when it revs up. Nice boat too. My first resto was a vintage runabout also.. fun boats and they get attention everywhere you go.

Great video! I love these types of boat and outboard restoration videos - especially when they were free finds like this, where the previous owners just want to be rid of them. I'll bet that old girl had a lot great times on the water back in the day, and is doubly excited to get back on the water to make some more great memories with her new owner!

I wouldn’t put back to back seats in it , I’d put pedestal seats in with new carpet ( carpet is cheap ) and your going to need a bilge pump ! Lol. They make a universal Bimini top ! Nice projector for your first boat ! Boat motor and trailer were FREE ! SCORE !!!!!!! Leave the center open for drainage !

Good catch. That is a good motor. They do have some issues with uneven heating and top cylinders running hotter. There are some schemes to run distribution hoses to to cylinders before the tell tale discharge ... As far as the transom goes, there are alternatives. You can drill the bottom of the transom and hook up a vacuum bottle/pump to draw all the water out of the core. Then shoot it full CPES. Shoot it in from the bottom and vent it along the trailing edge up top. When it comes out the vent holes, you are done. Add a strong back plate of 1/8 aluminum on the back side of the transom. Bed in 5200 all over and screw it around the perimeter and in the field. The motor will go right back on and you don't have to cut the fiberglass. The problem is that the fiberglass is structural as long as it's intact. If your patch job is not feathered and re-bonded with the appropriate schedule, it weakens the transom from transferring loads to the hull skin ...
@NOT_FOR_HIRE3 жыл бұрын
I'll look into that thank for the information!
@stevenreissr19383 жыл бұрын
might want to think again on cutting the 'transom from the outside , better to set saw blade very low and cut from inside then clean it up to the fiberglass ... now you can do all re-work from inside and you don t mess up the integrity of the hull and overall construction ... no matter what dude , you scored .... eh

This is the awesome video man. Got yourself another big project. I can tell you stay busy. This is going to be awesome watching you rebuilt the boat. Question? Did you just recently get this boat. I have a kayak right now. I wanted to get a boat or a jet ski but the wife said it's either the jet ski or boat or the truck. I was born and raised around trucks so I had to go with the truck. I was able to save up enough money to buy a kayak to get me on the water so I'll look at it as better than nothing. Man that filter had you dirty from head to toe. Good video man. I look forward to part 2.

Composites like coosa board are becoming industry standard instead of marine ply, they’re a bit more expensive but well worth it. Wish he had used that instead of regular plywood for the stringers, they’ll rot out in 10 years

I’ve lived in Fl my hole life & ive been right where you are now. Take the motor off throw the boat away. Find another boat, it will be cheaper & way less time. Going to bed every night with glass on your hole body is not easy to sleep with. It looks like a good motor! Put it on another boat!! Plus it looks like an old turd of a boat if you ever go to sell it you’ll never ever get any of your money & time back out of it. Wood & fiberglass are very expensive. Don’t find out the hard way.
