It’s great to see this engine starting. These old Listers are real workhorses, built to last.

Great stuff. Glad you didn't chop bits out - it's good to see the whole journey of trying to fire up these old engines. Thanks for uploading. 👍

When removing fuel lines try using two spanners - one on the top nut and one one the flair-nut, same applies to all line fittings like that..

The tank is a add on. This engine would have been supplied to fit in a factory or works of some kind. It's tank cooled and the fuel tank may have been very large and fitted into the building along with the cooling tank. I've got a lister A, and a B and a D type. All are hopper cooked though.

You need another wrench to hold the end towards the float bowl and then the spanner you were using to undo the fuel line.
@WidowUK3 жыл бұрын
Oh that little pusher thing as you called it is there to put a load on the main jet adjuster so it stays in place once you’ve set it depending on the rpm and load so you get the right mixture

You need to use two spanners, one on the fitting thats in the tank or carb and one to undo the fuel line nut
@stevevogelman33603 жыл бұрын
You have to hold the fitting while turning the flair nut. Don’t try to hold the tubing with pliers.

I’ve just bought a petter av1. I’m new no stationary engines. Can’t wait to get into it. Good to see the process on your one. Who did you get the build age details from? Maybe get some information on mine. Thanks

For a moment I thought you were gonna be airborne when the motor fired up lol... Think you should keep it as original as possible. Somebody's already tried painting it but why add to it... Interesting video - really like the fact you don't edit ...even if you are lazy lol. Keep up the good work mate
@NorfolkMancave3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes I didn't expect it to race away quite so much lol.. and yes I'm going to keep it as original as I can. Thanks for watching.

Well hell man I can't believe how quickly she fired up after standing all that time. Are you goner carry on and get her in a driveable condition as that will be a good video to watch. I love your videos but not so keen on the music I would rather listen to your commentary. Well keep up the good work wishing you all the best from Suffolk. 👍😃

Nah, leave it in its working clothes. A good rub or spray with a light oil or a bit of diesel or paraffin lamp oil from time to time, and leave her be.
@WidowUK3 жыл бұрын
Don’t paint it clean it up and use an oily rag over it to stop it rusting and to bring the colour of its paint back like what I e done with my old mower that’s on my channel there worth more unrestored but working. Leave it in it’s working clothes as they say
