I could see this doctor supporting a dog bite expert, but not being a dog bite expert. I read in the news today (1/15/25) that a young boy was killed by one or two dogs and that a expert in dog bites will be assisting the medical examiner. That is the type of expert that should be testifying. Dog bites probably took up .25 of less of her time as a doctor.

I think this second expert has missed the point. the point isnt to convict Chloe, it doesnt matter if it's a cat, a rodent, a wild boar or aliens. the point is to exclude the car from those injuries and looking at the photos it seems unrealistic to think those cuts were made by a plastic tail light.

I hope that she testifies so that Hank can chew up and spit out her theory from looking at a photo and reading an article in the Boston Globe, but never saw the dog or knew about all the other evidence. It was a simple boyfriend and girlfriend fight, drunk, dropped off, hit him, he came out of his sneaker and hat, fell to the frozen ground with the back of his head, broken glass and phone with him. No dog, no fight, no cover up. That was all made up by Karen and Turtlecrap, and attorneys. They wants to create doubt and stir the pot. It really is not at all. No deleted calls per Cellebrite and phones were upgraded. It had been 2 years and people can get new phones. It means nothing. 911 call got out of the car??? I watched the entire first trial and it's crazy hearing it restated again on here of what the defense theory is. Still it makes no sense to me and it seems entirely implausible that very experienced police officers would cover up a Murder by putting the body out in the front yard and just leaving it there. In order for you to believe that you'd also have to believe that they didn't entirely know everything that they were going to say to cover up everything because at the time they would have placed the body on the yard they would not have had the pieces of tail light from Karen's car. It just makes no sense that they would find pieces of her cracked tail light somewhere and then later place them only having come up with it once they found the pieces. The court showed a photo of Chloe's bite to a hand, showing the distance between the knine teeth. The CW can measure that bite to the teeth of Chloe now, to show if any of the teeth have moved. Dr. Russell didn't want to see the dog or bite impression, could not distinguish between a scratch and a bite, and gave her opinions without receiving the DNA and tailight evidence on John's shirt. I don’t think the marks were caused by a dog OR a taillight. I think the injuries were caused by the FIRE HYDRANT (sharp objects). Not only does it have sharp metal corners from a box on it but it has a plow pole. I researched those poles and they are made of the same thing tail lights are made of. The “microscopic shards of tail light” allegedly found in John’s shirt (now SLEEVE) are from grabbing the pole. The injuries are from falling on or slipping on the snow onto the FIRE HYDRANT. It is unknown if John was tapped or merely slipped and fell. It is unknown whether someone (Higgins) made a beeline to John and slugged him OR a house scenario. This cannot be known because the Police botched the investigation AND planted tail light. Karen Read should be free due to REASONABLE DOUBT and there will never be JUSTICE for John O’Keefe.

It shows them destroying (shattering) the rail light and then PROCTOR folding it all up and leaving. Higgins is clearly on the footage as well as Berkowitz. Why? John took a glass from the bar. There is footage of that. He could have gotten out of the car after they argued and when made her turn didn’t clip him but got too close making him angry enough to throw the glass turning quickly to get on the curb (slight hill) slipped and fell on the HYDRANT. What evidence is there that she knew he was there and left him? Personally, I don’t think she did. If she clipped him, it’s more likely that her drunk brain started asking questions much later when he didn’t return home. The problem is the botched investigation. You don’t like “reasonable doubt” but what is the alternative? Send potentially innocent people to prison or death? Ultimately, Law Enforcement failed John O’Keefe.

Vinnie, I think the judge will allow Dr Russell to testify in the new trial. I don't know if the Defense Team will actually call her. She made several statements in the Daubert hearing that can be used by Brennan to reduce the impact of her testimony in the new trial. Also, it looks like the Defense may change their strategy in the new trial. The jurors from the first trial that gave interviews have commented that the jurors didn't believe the "Corrupt Cops Really Did It and Framed the Innocent White Girl" Claim. So, if that claim muddied the waters and wasn't effective in the first trial, I don't think the Defense will use it in the second trial. If they don't use that theory then Dr. Russell's testimony of a dog biting John O'Keefe is not worthwhile. The FKR Fanatics were all so IMPRESSED with the testimony of "Lucky" Loughlan in the first trial. So many comments after his testimony on the YT channels covering the trial claimed he was the KEY WITNESS to Read's innocence. But, when you listen to the juror interviews, you find out "Lucky" Loughlan was the most insignificant witness in the jury deliberations, along with Trpr Paul. The CW seems to have heard those interviews and is now paying for an Independent Accident Reconstruction expert for the second trial to explain the crash data. I expect "Lucky" will not be called either by the Defense. However, the Defense Team may make the Cardinal Sin in Focus Group data interpretation. If they JUST USE the Free Karen Read Cult members as their sample set for their determination of Defense strategy, they will go with a completely wrong new tactic because the FKR fanatics do not possess the common sense most of us were born with. That is the reason they think Read is innocent. They are gullible. They are easy to manipulate. Their "Knowledge of the World" comes from a computer or cellphone screen and their desire to have the real world mimic their nightly TV selections. The Defense Team needs to spend money on a proper Focus Group sample set that represents the actual, potential jury pool in MA. Nine jurors thought Read hit John O'Keefe in the first trial with a mediocre prosecutor and poor presentation of the evidence. The Defense must be in a state of "Leaking Balloon Knot" with Hank Brennan leading the new Prosecution Team.

He’s a doctor of animal behaviour so I don’t see his opinion on a wound on a human being relevant. I also question his assertion of examine the dog behaviourally to determine if it would bite. Given the right recipe any dog can and will bite or attack, there’s no way to know the exact situation unless a witness comes forward. I feel like the defenses dog expert to me seems almost more credible because she has treated so many dog attacks rather then being a trail expert. I found it compelling that she reached out to the team because of the striking resemblance to the many dang attack wounds she has attended to. I get that it’s not your run of the mill “expert witness” - I would find it extremely compelling if they had this witness and also a more trial ready expert in tandem. Judge Cannone is unbiased and cannot choose a side. Anyone on the FKR side only wants to use that as a weapon but it is not true. Karen is snarky in court and the judge sees it. It is not appropriate behavior in court. It is televised for everyone to see and there has been no siding with either side by the judge.

It helps when they have been recognized as experts in court before. Dr Russell was not before the Read case. She also reached out to the Defense after the trial had started. So, the Defense NEVER lined up a dog bite expert BEFORE the first trial even though this is a KEY PART of their Defense. Did they drop the ball or couldn't they find ONE Dog Bite expert to agree with their theory? We all know the answer to that question.

Several weeks after Read left John O'Keefe to freeze in the snow, Chloe was in a dog fight where the other dog's owner was bit. It is reasonable to expect the Albert's home owner insurance carrier said get rid of the dog or we cancel your policy.

Chloe had got loose and went after another dog on her street, and when the woman walking the other dog and her friend tried to break up the fight, the woman's hand got bit. Mrs. Albert thought it would be good to give Chloe another home so that this would not happen again. Chloe was adopted by a woman in Vermont and has been ever since. The defense could have gone to see her, but never did. Wouldn't you want to clear your client and find out?? They know a dog attack never happened. Chloe did not like other dogs, but nice to humans per the owner.

The teeth mold could be very helpful and to determine if this dog did indeed leave these marks. Remember Ted Bundy left bite marks and his tooth mold matched precisely with the victim. ( which proved his guilt). This expert witness should NOT be excluded from testimony.
