This was all wrong. How can an eleven year old child, a victim of an unscrupulous pedophille, be charged as an adult?
@gmimi26 ай бұрын
Don't you just love how the state gets to decide who's an "adult" and who isn't when the LEGAL age of becoming an "adult" is 18. If this 11 yr old was murdered, media and state would call him a child, because he is one, but if said 11 yr old kills someone they'll say he's a murderer and an adult and should spend life in prison. Hypocrisy.

These boys NEVER should've been charged, and instead, treated for their traumatic experiences. This is yet another case of the system failing children. If a random man brought 2 boys to a police station to confess murder, shouldn't the detectives have thought, "We need to start by investigating who he is to them and if he has any ulterior motives"? Chavis's record of pedophilia would've come right up, correct? Also, if their attorney did not fight to keep prejudicial language off limits for the prosecutor, then he was negligent. And if the judge refused to limit prejudicial language, then shame on him. Alex did NOT have a "relationship" with that disgusting POS. Law enforcement publicized their identities and questioned Alex on the stand like he was testifying against his ex-lover. A little boy was victimized by a known predator and brainwashed into hating his father, who seemed to be doing his best despite being impoverished. I cannot imagine how that affected Alex for the rest of his life, especially since this took place during a time when homophobia was rampant. Also, Chavis probably exacerbated Derek's likely feelings (hurt, shock, abandonment, disappointment, anger, resentment, etc.) to being rehomed (like an animal) for the second time in his life.

I absolutely agree 💯! Ricky stole Alex's purity, youth, security & in essence, his life. I can only think of what abuse Alex had to endure as a child, in an adult prison. Especially after his testimony of abuse he suffered from Ricky. Outside of the judge who vacated the original sentence, he was most definitely, failed by the system. Rip Terry & Alex

I read they have since said that Chavis killed their father while they waited outside in a car. Why wasn't anyone banging on about the fact that a child the size of the eldest could no way overpower a man with a baseball bat. You have to be big and strong to wield a bat enough to kill someone. I hope this sentence would never of happened today those boys were raped again in court. Horrendous. I sincerely wish them the best.

As with most of these docs on this story, only those who deep dive and LOCALs from this area, know some of the more telling truths. Such as even the Prosecutor and JUDGE did NOT believe their story about Chavs involvement. Those 2 were SO much more autonomous and, very devious. It's ALL in the court transcripts., legal opinions and notes. When you do read them, you'll realize how most of these shows are near worthless for really understanding what happened here and why the original verdict for Chavis and the flawed, but at least "SOME justice for the dad" verdict of the 2 others. Was the right verdicts, changed by public pressure and mob rules. The Dad got very little justice in this case

I'm absolutely shocked. I double and tripled checked the date of the crime because everyone in that court room looks and behaves like it's 1982. The shoulder pads, the hairdos, the boys who look like they are 12, but talk like they are 30. The whole world has stepped into the 21st century, but not Florida. Trying an ELEVEN YEAR OLD as an adult??? Calling that 11yo on the stand to ask him in details about "sexuql relationship" he has been having "- for several YEARS at that point - with a giant pedophile??? What in the hell is wrong with Florida??? That judge and that prosecutor should ROT IN HELL for what they have put these kids through. I mean, can you imagine - Alex was in 5th grade when the murder happened, and likely has been raped by that POS since the first grade or earlier.... Why didn't the governor intervene, the Supreme Court, anybody??? This is the worst case I have ever heard of, by far.

Well the, and the format in which the text messages are is important I don't care what the alleged experience attorney has to say because it is significant for the reason that that's not how cell phone data is put when dividing dates and times to show significant time stamps for these messages, doesn't make sense in normal format for goodness sake. And for the sake of argument I left out punctuation marks on this huge run-on sentence to prove how significant commas are LOL
