Thank you, Magnus Team. You're products are fantastic. The 2 blade stinger is still my favorite. Check out the flight of the stinger in this video, I think you'll like it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6DIpYOOjrxkecUsi=M0kvH_Ajdv45uvmV

Using Magnus 150 gr. Killer bees out of my Ravin R29x X-Bow. With my own arrow build they are around 525gr. Launched at about 400fps the accuracy is incredible but until you dull one the bolt is going to probably blow right through any target you use !

Do you happen to remember the stock insert weight of the pile driver ? Im paper tuning this weekend and failed to plan accordingly when it comes to the inserts . Have to order some but i would prefer not to order the same weight as the piledriver
@draggindeeroutdoors Жыл бұрын
I don’t for the pile driver. That HYPR SWAT insert I removed in the video was 65 grains, replaced with a 110.

I've got a KI 370 and use pile driver bolts with a NAP spitfire, I tried fixed blades to start with and couldn't get them to fly straight, but now I might be able to, im shooting the magnus stinger out of my Elite Valor and they are killers!!!

I notice with all my testings i got going on 110 brass is perfect i use cheap china bolts from amazon i also use slightly thicker aluminum inserts as a flat nock for the rear. Anyways something i am noticing and will be testing in better detail soon is the thickness of the carbon shaft should be cocked vane as close to centre as possible. Helix offset left right is bow dependent but if you can put the stiffest side down you will have better tuned bolts. Such is my current experience.

What stopped me is how do you get them out of target???
@draggindeeroutdoors3 жыл бұрын
They pull out of that block 6x6 fairly easy
@chrisruzsa2798 Жыл бұрын
Some lube on the shaft and heads work very well for that. You also do not need much. Depending on your nock style you can also use a T handle extractor or arrow puller.

As you have learned, the broadheads will shoot lower than the same grain field points. I wonder how that may impact the paper test if you were to do it with a broadhead.
@draggindeeroutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Of the broadheads I've tested, Magnus Stingers fly the closest to field points.

Great video and lots of details, but I"m just not sure the Ranch Fairy's paper tuning is really necessary for crossbows, (and I love Troy Fowler)! That said, I've had great success on hogs with the Magnus Black Hornet Serated broad heads 125 Grains flew well in my Barnett Jackal (around 310 FPS). Hope to use them on my Raptor FX next.

@@henrymaccus Could be true Joe, but for me paper tuning is just really not that necessary for crossbows.

Paper tuning is definitely something to try with your x bow. I found out with mine that bolt length with the Broadhead of my choice had different results. Obviously you shouldn’t bare shaft tune due to the greater speed. My R26 shoots bullet holes with a 17” inch arrow and a 150gr Magnus killer bee. However I had to refletch all my arrows because the sweet spot was in between the factory set up. Worth the work! All tips now are incredibly accurate!

I recently purchased a Barnett hype whitetail 410 that shoots micro arrows. I have built my arrows for my compound bow using the Ranch Fairs method. I want to build some bolts but the bolts they sell with the crossbow come with aluminum nocks. I want to uses a lighted nock. The nock they uses on these bolts are more like our traditional nocks we shoot with our compound bows. So I'm wondering what's your thought is as far as a lighted nock that could handle being shot thru my crossbow?
