As a mailman, I am pretty sure people are overspending this time of year with the insane number of packages some people get!

This was wonderful information. I have talked to families and coworkers and we have decided to just have time to enjoy each others company instead of the stress about buying gifts and getting more stuff that we really dont need. All I had to do was start the conversation and I could see everyone's relief on their face when I started to talk about it. Thank you again for all you do.

You need to get your link added to the Dave Ramsey YT videos. It wasn’t on the Dave Ramsey video that hyped this video👀

If your friends or family ostracize you over materialism, they're showing their shallow character and doing you a favor.

"Jiggle All the Way" that was a great movie. My kids love it also.

As one who was working in a toy department of a retail store when the Power Rangers first came out, let's just say your reference to Jingle All the Way brought back, ummm, memories. Yeah, that's it 😂.

My husband and I budget and save for Christmas. We are careful. We begin saving money aside in September. The we pay cash and there are no bills that follow us into the new year. Budgeting really works!

My family does a draw for all of the adults so we only have to buy a gift for one other person every Christmas. This year we have even added a limit to the cost of the gift. You can buy more if you have the means but there is absolutely no pressure if you don’t. I’ve already told my friends/boyfriend not to expect any gifts from me this year and to not get me anything either. I’ll cook and host of they want to come over and have a fun Christmas but I’m not in a position to buy much.

There won’t be overspending but over anxiety because kids would want things for Santa that won’t be available! And yes, you gotta bid more to get them so there will be overspending

F that and FJB. My budget will remain the same. It will be most unfortunate and UNNECESSARY that products ordered well in advance aren't able to arrive in time.

Budget and do not overspend. Your families will actually survive if Christmas gifts are simpler and not costly. In fact, here in CA I suggest giving people GAS gift cards! 😅

we always buy all year,

how do people spend thousands?! I set a limit of $50 for each me and my husband, and $50 for my kid. And both our families do gift exchanges where we pick names buy for one person, with a $20 limit. Anything I buy on Black Friday is something we have been wanting over the year and saved specifically for. $50 might seem cheap but I get so sick of buying things every year and I usually can’t find something I actually want that I don’t already have.

Sooo, the supply chain issues is affecting all sectors. This means that there will be either limited items OR the manufacturer may not even make the item you want currently. More than likely, people will face the predicament of either choosing a different item in same category or choosing an item from a different category that is available. Inflation - the beast the gov has been feeding with stimulus packages and overspending - will increase the price of ALL items in ALL sectors. Yes supply chain is causing some inflation of items that are shipped or require parts to be shipped, but Inflation from gov spending is the real Grinch that will steal the holiday deals. Cant blame it all on supply chain issues. Remember, when shipping costa go up, companies simply spread the cost over all items in container, fire unnecessary employees/labor, reduce number of goods, reduce and redirect monies for advertisement to cheaper avenues. Gotta think deeper into the price increases and not jump blame things on surface issues or "low hanging fruit".
