Huge props and thanks to Will for coming on here and not only breaking down verbally the concepts and "techniques" he used in this song, but even going so far as to demonstrate them unfiltered live. A lot of screamers are timid (which I find very amusing) and shy away from impromptu performances, so it was really great of Will to jump in on the spot. It really helps as someone trying to refine my harsh vocals to hear "clean" examples to help me compare to what I am doing and have a better understanding on if I am close or not. Will is great!

My vocal folds felt this comment. It has been so difficult to find good examples of clean, healthy vocals, to practice with.
@mitrikgaduk3479 ай бұрын
@@DeadDrunk2 Back in my day there was a few reasons why a lot of people didn't demonstrate the sounds they could unfiltered or in a "private setting". For some it's due to the fact that many times they'd be asked, it'd be after a show, and they'd be exhausted. Another example is there's a lot of people who have "prep work" before they scream, I know a lot of people who are incredibly cautious, and are very careful. Some people also need warm-ups, it's not that they can't do it second nature, but "burning in" so to speak sometimes helps them, it can also be a placebo, or a mental thing. There's also the "volume" issue, back in the day, if your "scream" wasn't "loud", it wasn't a "scream", which was one of those stupid "metal elitist" things you heard a lot (there were a lot of immature opinions and statements), so some people shy'd away from doing there screams in front of people. A lot of people kept their techniques more close to their chests, this was because, I know, it's kinda crazy, bare with me, but, uhhhh, screaming didn't have a guide. Yeah, information on how to do it in a healthy manner wasn't exactly "public information". Everyone had a way how they "got there" or whatever weird thing they were doing, whether it was healthy or not. Then there were the anomalies who did things that were "perceived as unhealthy" but never had any issues or problems. I could list dozens of different reasons actually, some people just got tired eventually of being asked at every show across every country to scream off-mic because idiots thought it was some kind of "gotcha". I've watched tons of interviews, watched bands rise and fall, become the inspiration of entire generations, and have heard every reason under the sun. Yeah, people doing "one take vocal performances live" is a rather new concept, especially musicians performing their own work in an incredibly dry setting. (For some perspective, "The First Take", a channel dedicated to musicians in Japan performing songs in a single take, has only been around since 2019. Before this channel went viral with massive performances by literal legends and some of the biggest names in the Japanse music scene, it wasn't exactly easy finding many musicians doing something similar. A single take, dry, live recording.) (I did screaming for roughly 6 years of my life, I still do it on and off again, mostly for kicks nowadays or if I want to have some fun. I started back in 2009, well, that's when I first got the hang of it. Also, to all those hopeless and desperate to scream your lungs and chords out back in those days, I fucking salute you, we went through hell figuring this shit out, cause' the tutorials on YT were dogwater. We all fucking winged it, no joke.)
