This is such a massive scumbag move on Konami's part, it's already unfair as is with TCG product being hot garbage compared to OCG. I was part of the copium crowd, believing Konami is trying to fix the TCG and make fans happy but with the dueling mirrors tin bomb, and now a must-have meta card being printed in Secret rare, causing it to be EXTREMELY expensive for a play set, I basically quit playing and will just collect cards for pretty art work now. I think Konami should make it clear Yugioh isn't a "kid's card game" anymore, no normal kid can afford this😂 and while they're at it, stop censoring artwork as all the consumers of yugioh are grown adults with a lot of disposable income for such expensive hobbies.

I know it doesnt feel the same, but try to play on simulators like DB, YGO Omega or Master Duel. 2 out of 3 are completely free and MD can be played F2P without that many problems. Also tournaments are held on the regular in DB and Omega and you never have the feeling of being priced out.

I have the ability and the financial resources to buy a case, or to buy a playset of the non engine staples, but at this point it's the principal of the matter that I just don't feel like supporting to be honest. Like how they made Fiendsmith Lacrimosa, and then they further push the engine by giving it 2 TCG exclusive fusion monsters, oh and it wins in time, but since TCG won't fix time rules we just ban it, so you have exactly a month and a half to enjoy it. What happens when people realize Sinful Spoils Deception is a time card for 3000 life points? They're going to ban it too. I don't support when they print busted expensive engine cards only for them to be immediately banned, look at last spring when Cyberstorm Access released, Superheavy Samurai had 3 weeks to a month before they hit it, stop doing that, and if you know your putting out something broken give it time to breathe.

The reality? Maybe some quit but lets be honest, sealed cases are going to be bought and the whole cycle begins again. I see so many comments like "I bought 1-5 cases I really hope I get something good." despite knowing full well how horrible the pull rates and the rarity bumps are (leading to scarcity/higher price tag). Then proceed to complain they didn't pull shit on some other video/thread. It's absolute mind boggling how the fanbase/content creators are feeding into this insanity. Bottom line is this enabling Konami further to keep taking advantage of the players full stop.

i think people that are spending multiple salaries on decks that rotate out of the meta or require constant further expensive upgrades after each set just don't have a hard time earning money and don't know the value of money in general i also spend a lot of random cards, don't want to be a hypocrite, but not to such an extent spending, again, multiple salaries to be able to play on even ground at locals is crazy this is supposed to be an enjoyable time spent with fellow duelists who share in the same passion, not a competition on who can clock in more extra hours to buy copies of 200 euro cards to have an advantage over the other in a game where winning doesn't really mean anything, it is actual FOMO madness

Completely agree with you, but i mean if they activate shifter you also just lose. So what is the solution? Play floo /kash or tenpai (without fuwalos) and win off of 2€ shifter. (This is not fun i hope the guys at my locals wont buy 400€ fzwalos )

Yeah no I’ve moved to decks and strategies that just completely ignore or punish the use of this card (eg TTThrust into heavy slump) or just playing a deck like paleo which doesn’t care. @@pumpcards yeah the way it looks to me is that the TCG card designers absolutely despise maxx C, and while puurelia was definetley an actually ok card to exist, fuwaross just isn’t. The third mulcharmy probably being banish zone + graveyard may also warrant a hit although I doubt it’ll get banned. Neither of those would/are even comparable to fuwaross though. I’ve pretty much settled with the consolation of the following Wanna fuwaross me? get handlooped for 4 (6 if you count the extra cards they drew)

Not that price isnt an issue in ygo but i dont think the staples are the problem but the price of the deck core and the massive powercreep is more important. Because expensive handtraps never really killed the game. Before the reprint of ash in the soulburner SD every HT was a shit load of money. Ash, ogre, imperm, droll. These Handtraps were really expensive. Ash was at its highest with around 100€, imperm was the same price with i think 90€ and droll was i think 30€(?)

For me it’s the combination :) look at it that way: it’s a new format and you wanna play Yubel fiendsmith. The deck core is super expensive, you already pay around 400€ for it, then you need good old staples for around another 100€ and then you additionally need the new staple for around 350€. I know from a meta gamer perspective „it is what it is“ but SP or Ash back when it released are really good examples. Many players didn’t have these on release… such high prices are gatekeepers. I know such high prices are being payed by many players, but that’s still no good thing. The game should be affordable.

Mulcharmy work under shifter if you read the cards you’ll notice the word “GY” isn’t present at all. Additionally you can activate 2 copies of the same one not restricted to a different name

This is some silly logic. 3 copies in a 40 card deck is a 37.5% chance of opening a copy so if they do open it and drop it on you in response to a ss, with you not opening ash or called by, you have no choice but to think about either continuing your combo anyway or ending your turn and then they start their turn with 6+ cards like normal with the plus of killing yours. On top of that you can’t maxx them back since you now control a card or more. So you just simply die like that.

That’s not actually true, there are plenty of people at my locals who quit Yugioh for the next year because of fuwaross. And who wouldn’t actually with such a bs card? I mean the card itself isn’t even a problem. But having a mandatory 3 of in every deck, being a secret rare is just BS. Of course not everyone will quit. I mean Ash blossom in Maximum Crisis has also been a secret rare (and over 100€ per copy) and the game still exists. But just because the game still exist, doesn’t mean, people won’t quit…
