Sometimes they are a small part of the fuel and sometimes they are a primary component of the fuel. Methanol is commonly used “straight” - that's why it's called racing alcohol by many. Ethanol can also be used straight, and some racers do, but it's more common to hear about E85, a blend of about 85% ethanol.

Methanol injection (alcohol injection) is usually 49/51% alcohol to water by weight. Since stoic is different for gas and alcohol, as shortly mentioned in the video, the 14.7:1 afr is way off. I think running diesel through it will fix it. to explain, Old-Timers would take gasoline engine that have low compression , blow by or just half slab pour out and run diesel through it for a while and then put it back on gasoline. I'm not sure how many gallons, possibly a gallon or two or even a tank, I cannot recall but it will restore compression and tighten it all up so you can drive it all the way into the ground. That's why you see all those old cars that are worn out, barely sticking out of the ground.

There is a product called "Engine Restore and lubricant" made by a company called "restore" it comes in a silver bottle. It is a oil additive that helps with compression and I have to say it is 2nd to none! Out of all the "miracle" products out there this is one that truly works! I had a scored cylinder on my 383 stroker and you could tell instantly of all the power that was lost being restored!

About 4 years ago, at 180k my 2002 Mazda Tribute started using a quart of oil every +/- 1500 miles. Then, a year or so later, it started smoking real bad when I cranked it after sitting a few hours at work, overnight etc. and I was ready to trade it in. But, I read up on oil additives and decided on Restore... I use the 8 cylinder can even though it's a V6. Anyway, since I've been using it at oil changes, my car barely uses oil any more and quit smoking on start up and now has 240k+ miles on it. You have to shake the can real good before you pour it in because it seems to settle at the bottom of the can. YMMV

I mean.. now a days everything is electronic. But back in the early 1900s, moonshine would be used as an alternative or back up. But you were able to use rubbing alcohol, so most def could use a high grade drinking alcohol

People use to out one bottle of Rubbing Alcohol in a car to help get rid of water In the fuel. Use the highlight alcohol content. Also, yes cars will run on a real moonshine. PGA, Everclear etc. But, you may need to fix the fuel to air ratio on different models on newer model cars. But, it may screw up your evap system and it certain sensors. Have fun, be safe.
