Will She Let Me Install a Lift Kit on Her Jeep Wrangler?

My wife has had her HellaYella 2 door Jeep Wrangler JL for over a year now and she loves daily driving it and exploring new destinations out on the trails. While the JKUR is very capable in stock form, I’ve always wanted to add just a little lift and slightly larger tires to it to give it just a bit more capability, but still maintain good daily driving manners. In this video, I try a little experiment to see if she’s willing to allow me to install 35” tires and a 2.5” lift kit… we’ll see! #jeepjl #jeepwrangler #jeep

I measured carefully before and after I added my 35" tires and MetalCloak 2.5" lift. At the driver door, my Jeep was 4.5" higher after the lift and tires. Different lift kits can give different amounts of lift despite them both being "2.5" lift" kits.

This video was from 2 years ago, but I still re-visit frequently as I improve my own 2021 JLU. I just added the Mopar 2" lift today, and at 5'4, I am going to have to practice getting in and out of it somewhat gracefully. Regena has been such an inspiration for me!!!

I’m just throwing this out there. If you like it, take it. If not, send it right on back... But it would be cool if you did a trail trip, similar to what overland history does with his New Years crawl. Taking a bunch of people with different rigs on a easy trail to camp and hang out.

LOL. Excellent. Reminds me of my wife getting into my 2 door JK passenger side with the same set up (2.5" and 35s). She has a system...Foot, handles, pull, butt, and slide. When she doesn't say it, i remind her. She is 5'4". But you know, I am actually 5'8" myself and I got used to getting into the jeep quickly (no purse though haha). Your wife will do the same and love her jeep even more after it's all done. Great Video!!!

We feel her pain! My wife & I are vertically challenged & have a lifted 2020 JLUR with 37's. We use grab handles that mount above the door openings on the roof frame + the Rock Slide Engineering electric step sliders with their extra armor. This solved the issue. Hope our RSE steps are as durable as Pulling Taffy Productions says!

When, and that's an unknown at present, we get to the stage of purchasing a Jeep it'll most likely be lifted. Not only will it look better, but it'll preform better. Just purchased a third MINI Cooper, a Cabriolet for the wife, something about a happy life. Which means I can modify the oldest MINI for use on my photography trips off the paved roadways here in Southern Arizona. Yes there's a 2" lift kit available for MINIs.
