The real danger that I see in AI is not in removing the "matured" job positions (such as full lawyer) but in removing the entry level work that people did to become lawyers and the like. AI may make lawyers 200% more efficient, but there isn't a 200% demand for lawyers. Or am I wrong on this thinking?
@filmonyoha7134
@filmonyoha7134 12 күн бұрын
I agree with you, the danger is it will not completely dominate a field anytime soon but it will make work much more efficient not requiring entry level jobs leaving others stranded.

Many jobs will be re-designed. Most well-payed roles will be "curating" AI work. Much of the "grunt" work will be gone and you will need to learn to add value to what AI is doing. That means that even "entry level" jobs will change.
@DeusVult2480
@DeusVult2480 5 күн бұрын
@@TheKris333 I agree. We just have to remember that the goal is to automate "value-add" jobs. So any "entry level jobs" that come about (either as new or as changed old jobs) will have to be ones that can't be automated at scale otherwise the financial incentives to remove the human agent from that position will be too great.

Personal commercials instead of resumes and references. What a waste of time. Not everyone looks good on video. It's stupid for an employer to hire based on this too, if that is not the skill they are hiring for. Why would a recruiter for an engineering job or a lab researcher care if the candidate looks good on video or has a personal brand? Ugh.

Even coding jobs are not secured. I believe AI is going to wipe out 60% of the jobs by 2030. I going to keep it 100, if I had a child today, I'll tell them forgot college/university (unless if they plan on becoming a doctor, lawyer, etc) learn a trade (Plumbing, Electrician, Mason, etc)

I think 5 day work week will finally die it's outdated due too technology how it is anyway. $0 hours is even a bit too much. I'd impose a 36 hour 4 day work week in all jobs it could be done if I could

In a "global economy" with countries that are increasing their status, we'll be left in the dust. There will be so many people in other countries that will outwork US citizens for less pay. Better quit buying things you don't need now, reality is going to hit in the next few decades. "Broke" will have a new meaning. Take it from a farmer that makes $5-6/hour net over the last few years. Only able to survive due to my wifes income. Learn to make your own flatbread, and be prepared to lose weight going into ketosis trying to save money. :D

Here’s my opinion though with him saying don’t be afraid of AI taking your job. Yes I’m not my job requires enough hands on skill I’m not worried about it. Also my company banned AI right now anyways because someone was using it for taking notes. But look at what google’s AI snippets are doing to the internet. Websites are struggling because no one is going to the website anymore because google just took the important bits and put them on the search page. I do think somethings will improve like I could write a comic I have in mind I just can’t draw it. But while it will expand the arts to others it takes away from others. But the world marches on regardless.

Nuh, freelance means employers can find a bigger pool of human resources outside the country making market wages lower... supply > demand. Simply like outsourcing. But then there are more tasks that can be completed by AI in 10 years making the job market tougher

OK but if a company has a need for a specialized skill that is critical business, how do they hire freelancers to stay and be loyal enough to be valuable?

@@NarrativePilgrim No they dont, but in some of these positions you cannot just freelance for a few days. You need credentials, training and standards for the company's product to be valuable. How does a company figure some of these challenges out? Its not as simple as "just hire freelancers".

Kinda makes a college degree less and less valuable. There will always be a place for degrees that lead to a license (doctor, lawyer, teacher, nurse, CPA, architect, etc..) But if everything is "upskilled," then the typical liberal arts degree or even course course based degree seems unnecessary.

One critical issue is people will lie about their capabilities based on machine learning. Therefore an employer or a request for value will not be able to determine if what the seller is providing generates the value they claim.
@kerim.peardon5551

The same is true of resumes now; people pad them or outright lie on them. But freelancers will have star ratings and reviews, like Amazon products, and that will take the place of referral letters and calling previous employers (if anyone still does that these days).
