I think what makes you stand out is your ability to think logically. This is the only religion I've studied so far that coexist with the rational mind, and the believing heart may Allah guide you. yeah because when you think of it, the islamic golden age resulted from individuals who did their best to raise islam and the word of truth, people who live their lives according to the universal law of God. Those individuals are our beloved prophet Mohamed peace be upon him and his companions peace be upon them and all the muslim belivers...and if every single muslim followed their religion in their best way possible, we can surely rise again if God wills, in order for a group to succeed there needs to be a team work. but thats our problem, people among us are one of the main reasons why islam is in this state. lazy people, hypocrites, people who claim to be muslim yet they do the exact opposite of what islam teaches..."Indeed, Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves" (Surah Ar-Ra'd verse 11)

The fall of the Islamic empire came when religiosity started to conflict with the advancement of technology. This tends to happen in religious societies, they begin to wonder how much technology do we really need? The Christians were much worse in this respect, burning books and libraries lol but Muslims stopped advancing militarily which left them open to defeat by those with superior weapons. It was not sin and "going astray" religiously. If anything they got more religious than ever.
@strifelord5239 Жыл бұрын
@19:23 This is precisely what helped me realize that as I was learning Islam, it was making me into a better Christian. The coherence of the Qur'an was guiding me intellectually to understand Christianity and in particular theology and our relationship as humans, as servants, as creation with God. Then I began to realize that the whole breadth of Muslim philosophy and a large part of Western Christian thought were all derived in some significant degree from the Qur'an. So to dismiss the Prophet Muhammad as a prophet created a dilemma, because I was putting upon him something that he did not put upon himself, namely that the Qur'an was the product of his manufacture and his thoughts and ideas. If, as a desert dwelling Arab without any formal education or exposure to Greek philosophy, all the sciences, or any form of logic or thought tradition aside from whatever myths and legends the pagan Arabs had, he somehow wrote a book that lent coherence and laid down a holistic framework that helped humans answer all of life's most pertinent existential questions, then he has surpassed all the great thinkers in all of human history and is the greatest genius that ever lived. But again, he did not attribute to himself any distinction aside from being chosen by God to deliver His final message to mankind. This I came to realize made much more sense, despite (or maybe because of) his remarkableness as a human being. One can attribute to the Prophet Muhammad all of the most exemplary attributes of Man, but he remains a mortal, and the Qur'an is not the product of a mere mortal.

I realised, many Muslims that able to memorised the Quran by heart have light source inside their heart from Allah that makes them easily learning and memorising lots of things. My little brother, after he able to memories the whole Quran, he took 13 subjects at school (including biology, physics, chemistry, etc) and able to score straight As almost effortlessly, Subhanallah.. My husband, before he memorised 5k hadith, he started with memorising Quran, then the hadith came to him easier after that.. True that some are gifted super brain, but the brain becomes more functioning when the heart is full of light from Allah's words. Memorizing Quran not just by throat but by heart.. (by heart - memorising letter by letter, understanding why each letter were used by Allah (grammar and vocabs) to describe the tones, emotions, strictness, leniency, etc., at the same time understand the meaning of the verse itself by knowing the full story of when each verse came down, what situation (was going on) that made Allah sent down each verse.), and why.

Honestly, I never liked the concept of a "Golden Age" because in using the term, we usually concede two things: - that it's an exception to the standards of our faith. - that it's a height we will never reach again. This kind of thinking doesn't yield anything but a state of pessimism and toxic nostalgia. Let's keep in mind, there was a lot of decadence in that time. If we were alive then, we probably wouldn't think to ourselves "lucky me, I'm living in the middle of the golden age of Islam!" we'd be trying to get through the week just like now. Nothing's wrong with giving credit to the great scholars and scientists of that period because they do not get their recognition, especially in western curriculums. But I just want Muslims to be careful as to be proud of the faith, not proud of a historical period; and to focus on the present rather than yearn for the past. It helps to remember that despite being closer to judgement day, we are still living in the middle of history, not at the end of it, and Allah gave us free will.

Those who say Sufism is innovation are, to my opinion and experience, reiterating what others told them. Sufism is beautiful. To me it’s the heart of my religion. It allows me to meditate, cry and deeply connect with Allah. Allah knows the best but Sufism is pure love and devotion. The stories of Sufi saints is absolute inspiration. The love those saints had for Allah and his messengers is worth emulating. I wouldn’t know how to love Allah to the extend I have had if I were not introduced to their stories at a young age. Some rituals of some sufis might rub people off in the wrong way, but how could you know the stories of these saints and their love for Allah and His religion and try to invalidate them. We know how Islam is portrayed to the world by the media, many non-Sufis do the same thing to Sufism. I even heard one guy who has a dawah channel say Sufism is a sect like Shia…the sheer ignorance. Sufism is not a sect, they are ahlus sunnah wal jamaah.

This so called “golden age” is a misnomer. The golden age of Islam is when the Prophet peace be upon him and the first century or two spread Islam everywhere The so called golden age actually had some good and some bad aspects, but that is when issues started to emerge that led to some secularization. That’s why from a secular perspective they consider the 8th to 14th century the “golden age” because that’s when art, science, and philosophy became rampant. But if you think of it from a religious perspective the golden age is when people are most subservient to Allah and that was definitely in the first century or two of Islam

The three groups mentioned: mutazalites, maturidya, and Ashari’s are all innovated and came later. All have been thoroughly rebuked for their very problematic theological beliefs which they all derived from Greek philosophy And that is why ibn Taymiya criticized them. But you’re wrong Bobby, ibn Taymiya didn’t get rid of any of them. He warned against them but he didn’t wield any political influence like those groups did. That’s why ibn Taymiya was imprisoned and ended up dying in prison

Excellent choice, Bobby. I have been following this channel since they had only a few videos. They even have one covering the Sunni/Shia split (from a neutral point of view).

Salam bother Bobby, thank you for these videos. I am learning more about my religion through you and I thank Allah for guiding me to your channel. I love how you are a man of common sense and I believe you are being guided to the truth day by day. Sufism and tassawuf is not innovation don't listen to these people who say its wrong. I will link some videos and channels you could check out and possibly do a reaction!

One of the main rules in Islam is: Do not transform or re-invent Islam, for all we will ever need when it comes to legislations has been given to us by Allah himself. Any modifications are walking astray from the right path. Sufism, in its very core, is based on deforming Islam, coming up with new notions that have nothing to do with the religion, and building straight up a new sect/cult which has nothing to do with Islam. There is indeed a margin for what is called 'ijtihad' which is innovation/adaptation to different situations. But the main pillars must remain untouchable no matter what.

Also what blew my mind is that Copernicus attributed his heliocentric model (earth revolves around the sun) to the Arab astronomers which did so because of trying to understand the Qurans verses about this very idea

The preference of some prophets over some is a matter specific to Allah Almighty only, and he alone owns this matter, and no human being can differentiate between these prophets without knowledge or according to whim, and let the comparison be : " And these Messengers (who have been designated to guide people), We have exalted some of them above the others." [Al-Baqarah, 253]

20:10 not only I believe, I knew all of this and much, much more than what is mentioned in this video and in any video, but that's because I am Muslim and also Arab, so, I know that you're truly surprised, but believe me, we are still far from the actual effect of Islam on modern development, and you got the key words , because you're intelligent " Read and Reflect"

The West is the biggest sponsor of Satan himself and the largest source of paganism through the Catholic Church. Of course they have no clue.

I believe we can have a new Golden Age as well. We must put our trust in Allah first and foremost and the knowledge He has bestowed on us in the Quran. Then through discipline and righteousness we unite and progress together.

4:50 some say it's prophesized by now known as landmark build by Umar ibn Abdul Aziz authority to reserve historical sites. The significance of Masjid Ejabah (also known as Masjid Mu’awiyah) is that it is the location where the Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated to Allah (ﷻ) for three things. Allah (ﷻ) answered two of his requests, but not the third. The Arabic word ‘ejabah’ in English closely means ‘responding’. Aamir bin Sa’ad (رضي الله عنه) reported on the authority of his father that: One day Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) came from Aaliya and passed by the mosque of Banu Mu’awiyah. He went in and observed two rak’ahs there and we also observed prayer along with him and he made a long supplication to his Lord. He then turned to us and said:“I asked my Lord three things and He has granted me two but has withheld one. I asked my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed by famine and He granted me this. And I asked my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed by drowning (by deluge) and He granted me this. And I asked my Lord that there should be no bloodshed among the people of my Ummah, but He did not grant it.” [Muslim] There's always alive witness in disasters, there's always survivor in famine or pandemic, more over in the war aftermath left survivor despite brutality occurred. On other hadith The Prophet (ﷺ) said: This people of mine is one to which mercy is shown. It will have no punishment in the next world, but its punishment in this world will be trials, earthquakes and being killed.

Malik ibn Anas reported: Wahb ibn Kaysan, may Allah have mercy on him, would sit with us and he would not stand to leave until he said to us, “Nothing will reform the latter of this nation except what reformed the beginning of it.”
