What about the websites that make money out of selling your personal information? They are doing it without your consent. Everything including your address, DOB, phone address, etc. This should be illegal !!!!!!!!

To be fair they usually get your consent when you sign up to the website/service. Admittedly its usually buried in the terms and conditions somewhere that you have to click. Knowing this I try to keep the amount of things i sign up for to a minimum and compartmentalise my accounts/services. It's an easier life if you link all your online stuff and give them all your details. And people are all about the "easy life" now I have not and dont plan to use most of the services that people sign up for. I have minimum apps installed on my phone. No Tiktok, Netflix, Disney, uber, deliveroo, bike rental etc. I'm not even using the youtube app. I have it installed only to get notifications but I watch and interact only through laptop or my phones web browser. I reject cookies whenever it gives me the option too.

@ Yes, but why one should have to go such extreme lengths to protect their privacy? My point is that this shouldn’t even be legal.

@@user-yn9mx7xu1r Because of the age we live in now. Information, data and privacy are extremely valuable. And it's very easy to violate and hoard peoples data if it makes their life "easier". Too many people dont know or even care about how their data is taken/used as it makes their life easier and streamlined. And as long as the masses are fine with it then its gonna keep happening. My refusal to install all these apps does make things a little more difficult for me, but I'm fine with having to miss out on certain services or go extra steps to do things as I feel more in control of my persona. I know there are increasingly more ways in which we will be forced to use online services or risk feeling/being ostracized from regular society. I feel like I need to confirm that I am not AI either after all the AI I've seen posing as humans (some being pretty convincing).

This isn't about protecting children, this is about protecting the narrative and putting guardrails on social media.

Never understood why parents would let their kids use any social media at all. Doesn't matter what sites they use tiktok, Facebook, Instagram and even KZbin can be harmful. You don't know what is on these sites. The other thing is kids have smart phones and the parents say my child needs it to be safe etc. Personal phones were never a thing when I was a kid and I wasn't ever in any danger. A child is less safe with a smart phone than they are without one. Kids don't need these devices. Stop making excuses.

@Fabbydabby1 I wasn't tracked.. My daughter wasn't tracked. We both turned out normal. Trust is important.

Govenment and officials should never had used untegulated social media, as a means of official communications to the public.

What is this GMB or GBNews with the deleting of comments? Pro-Tory Party or Pro-Reform Plc is fine but other than that deleted?
@MarkBurrows-o1p5 күн бұрын
That's very true indeed why put your views down then have them deleted afterwards 🙊🙉🙈
