Yes! And I didn’t watch right away the third kung fu panda, both kung fu panda 1 and 2 are S tier movies (dreamworks movies) third would be more of a B tier, ut qas good but it didn’t live up to its predecessors, at least that’s my opinion

Sessis, don't listen the comment above. The 3rd part is the best one. The story writers outdid themselves. Did something a very few people are capable of. Making a complete story, the story that makes a full circle. The story that looks like it was planned that way from the start of the trilogy. Though we know for sure it was not. The level is so high, that I am afraid it is not humanly possible to write a better one and the 4th part that is coming soon is not going to be on par with the main trilogy.

One of the most incredible things in this movie is the use of different styles for different storytelling. Paper puppetry for history, animation for dreams, 3d for reality and memories. When Poe's visions go from animation to 3d (seeing his Mom) is when he finally begins remembering

I love how it ties to what Master Oogway said to Shifu in the first movie: ‘One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it’ just like Shen wanted to avoid his destiny so he took it another road but in the end he still met his destiny. Amazing reaction 😊

I learned something REALLY cool about Tigress. Turns out that she's a specific kind of tiger called the South China Tiger--scientific name Panthera tigris amoyensis--and they are the RAREST subspecies of tiger in the world, with only a hundred individuals in captivity. There are no South China Tigers in the wild, not even in their natural home of the moist forests of Hainan. And, fun fact, the skull of the South China Tiger is different from all other surviving tiger species. Because of this, this tiger is considered to be the original from which all other current tiger subspecies evolved! They are also the smallest tiger in mainland Asia, which would explain why Tigress is so small compared to other predator animals in the Kung Fu Panda series. I mean, she's smaller than Tai Lung, who is a snow leopard!

I think my favorite detail that is often overlooked is that the "Warrior of Black and White" that the prophecy foretold wasn't actually Po, but Shen himself. His own madness has led to his own defeat. At the end, after Po's speech you can see Shen cutting the ropes holding the cannon and accepting his fate while closing his eyes as it falls. He realized that he's went too far to ever find redemption and that only in death will he find peace. Truly one of the best written villains in Dreamworks and cinema as a whole. Edit: Also, after seeing the movie many times only now I realized that the fireworks that launch from the shipwreck also appear as Shen's silhouette.

In Secrets of the Five, we learn that Tigress was abandoned at an orphanage as a baby. As the only predator there, she was feared by both the other children and workers as a monster, due to how she couldn't control her strength. Shifu was the one who taught her how to control it, and brought her back to the Jade Palace.

Fun Facts: Apparently China had a problem with the movies when they first came out, because they hated that animators in the west made movies about China better then China AND I read somewhere the Shen sealed his fate by attacking the pandas. Shen not only killed the pandas but all creatures who resembled black and white, so who else is in that category, none other than Tai Lang, hence why he was outside the temple when Shifu found him and because of this it was destined for Po to become the dragon warrior, defeat Shen and protect China. china has a censorship where the main character has to be amazing to show how great china is, and that kinda doesn't let you to do any character development plots at all also they re-animated the characters lips for chinese version (at least for the 1st movie)

The original script had Shen’s parents be ashamed of him being born an albino, so he was basically raised by the Soothsayer. They ended up cutting that out, so his sudden kindness to the Soothsayer comes out of nowhere

Po's dad here gets my heart. What he lives in this movie I guess is a common fear in adoptive parents, the fear that the kid you raised then wants to find his real family and leave you behind. All his reactions feel so genuine, like if the actor felt all that before. It actually breaks me when he finally breaks in the end.

I’d think if one adopts a child one wants the best for them so getting in touch with their roots and birth parents is important. Shouldn’t be something to fear but it’s definitely emotionally vulnerable situation. The actor is amazing fully agree, his emotions feel very real!

The best thing about this movie is how Pandas were an endangered species but after this came out it helped raise awareness and the giant panda has been downgraded from 'Endangered' to 'Vulnerable' on the global list of species at risk of extinction

🐼👍 As far as Dreamworks Animation trilogies go, "Kung Fu Panda" and "How To Train Your Dragon" are definitely the jewels in the studio's crown. The "Shrek" and "Madagascar" franchises are definitely lower tier when compared to them. As I think I've mentioned, many of the studio's one-offs are as good or better than the franchises. "Over The Hedge" (2006), "Flushed Away" (2006), "Monsters Vs Aliens" (2009), "Megamind" (2010), "Turbo" (2013) and "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" (2014) are all well worth watching. With the Christmas season coming up, you might also want to consider reacting to "Rise Of The Guardians" (2012), which is definitely another top-tier Dreamworks film.

An unfortunate truth about the "reveal" of the pandas still alive at the end was that the shots of Po's birth father turning around and seeing the other pandas were in the early trailers for this film...so it was already kinda spoiled for people going in.

There's been things that say that the the prophecy of Shen being defeated by a warrior of black and white, was not Po but Shen himself due to his morality. That's why he let himself die in the end. Earlier in the movie, he had the wolves and weapons, but he betrayed them and Po destroyed the cannons. Now he has nothing. The weapons made him a threat, but he's no match to or stronger than others without them.

True story: KFP was so popular in China it led to a government inquiry as to whether western filmmakers were depicting China more authentically than Chinese filmmakers and whether they needed more help to do so. I've never thought about it before but i wonder now if half of what shen says to po is really him talking about himself. Saying his parents never loved him was an obvious low blow but its also how he sees himself. Really i think there's a lot of nuance in this movie. I mean yeah a warrior of black and white clearly describes a panda but it could also mean a balanced warrior. A warrior of yin and yang. Inner peace.
