I remember way back when you were in the shed alone, this question came up. Your response was that the only person you would trust would be if your wife quit her job and worked with you.

Reselling is great for retirees also. I’m 66 and absolutely love what I do. And, yes it’s easy to make an extra 2000 a month. My space is a 12x12 area full of IKEA Kallax shelving units. I sell anything and everything working about 20 hours a week.

I'm 100% on the same page and agree with every statement you guys have expressed re: involving others .. nobody will work your business the way you do.. keep it up. Love watching the two of you work together.
@judyg988910 ай бұрын
I agree! My husband and I own a brick-and-mortar business, and while it's a lot for us to handle especially as we get older, it is *OUR* business! There are the trust issues, with safety/security, and also just doing things the way we would do them. It would be a lot of work to train someone to know all the details. But also, we just *enjoy* being a part of *all* of it. It would make me sad to walk away with someone else in *my* place...LOL! Plus we both get kind of overwhelmed with lots of stuff going on. It's nice the way it is: we can be together without outsiders to think about or distract or having differing opinions. Neither one of us has any desire to be a boss or supervisor. I think that's why I enjoy watching you two working together! :) And yeah, I always say we can go "deeper", as in be more organized, improve our signs and decor, etc. But we have *no* desire to radically change things by "scaling up"; by working together it's the perfect size for *us* right now. And no, it's *good* to be content with what you are doing...it's not "mediocre", it's inspiring! :)
@findsanddeals10 ай бұрын
Being content is definitely not a bad thing in my mind. In fact I think it's what a lot of people are actually striving for when they keep chasing bigger & bigger goals. If you've found your spot in life where you are content, then I personally can't think of anything better than that.

You're dead on about being a college side hustle. I was hitting thrift stores anyways in college for appliances, furniture, and clothing. I figured I might as well find something valuable to flip while I was there anyways to make myself some beer money. I picked up a NIB John Deer speedometer to add onto a bicycle. Saw a used one sold for $50 so I put what I thought was a wild number of $125 on mine and it sold in literally 15 minutes. From that point I was hooked. Love your videos, keep it up!
@MegaBorusse190010 ай бұрын
How about putting the boxes (comics, book lots, clothing) on the lower shelfs? You usually pull them completely off the shelf anyway or look for the right number in them. This means that the heavy items are at the bottom and the space at the top is left for smaller items.
@joedeals9 ай бұрын
Maybe try making the bottom shelfs your tall shelfs which allow you to see the entire shelf and have some higher shorter shelfs where you can see straight back into them... might be worth a try

When I was around 8 years old, besides selling Grit magazines and greeting cards; my siblings and I were "requested" to perform chores around the farm. For consideration of these chores, we were given 25 cents a month for an allowance plus room and board. lol With my 25 cents I was able to buy either 2 comic books plus tax or one comic book, a soda and a candy bar. Sometimes my dad would ask me to get him a carton of Marlboro cigarettes when he took us to the 7/11 store which was one of our favorite places as kids because of their variety of candy, soda and comic books. He would give me 2.50 and would let me keep the change. Of course, I was more than happy to do that for my dad and to also keep the 45 cents in change which allowed me to purchase 3 more comics and another soda or candy bar. Yee haw! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@mdm944910 ай бұрын
The bottom shelf does not have a lot of height to it. What about movie the boxes of stuff you have on the middle shelves to the bottom along with some of the long tail stuff like the flex seal tubes that are on the third shelf. With the boxes on the bottom or just big toys and stuff down there would make it easier to grab and free up a lot of middle space.

So once again watching you two together is just like hanging with an incredible couple who are a perfect team, and a great example of what makes a relationship special. Putting someone in the mix would be a terrible idea, never futz around with chemistry, it's lightning in a bottle. The exception would be your daughter, then you could sell the rights for a TV series. Here's my question: Who would you want to play your family if your story was adapted to TV?

Having had a business selling food products for over 23 years we have had employees up to 15 at one time...The headaches of dealing with issues, the less that honest effort by many, the lack of concern of safety, and lack of responsibilities...it ruins the "fun" of the work and turns it into a Chore. and hiring family was the worst.

Training Staff: it’s been my experience that when you get a good staffer, once they get trained up, they make the decision to go off on their own and take all the training you have provided with them. Those who decide they like it and become good enough to be successful, start thinking about doing it for themselves.
