Love your show! It reminds, My wife and I of our journey through life. We are self taught Home Remodelers. Made a great living Remodeling Bathrooms and Kitchens. Allowed us to work in-doors year round in Texas. You have KZbin to teach you, nothing like that when we started. A trick an old sheetrocker taught us, to help keep mud dust to a minnum while working inside, Was to use a wet wash rag and bucket of water, to sand. First use your mud blade to shave off the ridges, then wash. We had families living in our remodels so had to clean every night. We also love that area of North Idaho. Our family vacations on our land in Washington. A Hundred miles North of Spokane, has the Same terrain.

What a wonderful couple. I myself am a brown eyed redhead. Since I'm passed seventy it's somethings hard to prove. If you want to eliminate those iced over an cold vehicles simply get a milk house heater and 100 foot 10 or 12 guage extension cord. Put it in your vehicle plug 15 minutes, ice gone car warm. I been doing that in northern Missouri for over thirty years. Works great in ice storms. By the way you guys rock..

Things are really coming together, guys. Great job! Helpful hint...maybe... an old discarded or damaged solid core door and pair of plastic sawhorses make a great work bench. It stores easily when you don't need it, and easy set up and take down. It will easily hold your tile cutter and saws. And inexpensive.

A 10'x10' well insulated shed, with a waterbed heating pad under the tank, with a 'Temperature Cube' that kicks-on at approx 38 degrees and off at 43 will keep it from freezing; unless it gets to minus 20 below zero for a few days. A remote water temp sensor can let you know the temp of the water, if you need to add another heat source. Like an automatic floating Aquarium heater (250 watts). Note: That large of a 'Mass' of water is hard to freeze.

I have found, mix the grout a little dry and wipe the tiles with a wet sponge before your grout, seems to work better than a dry tile
@cennsa140driver2 жыл бұрын
Grouting tip. To clean off the grout take a big sponge wipe a small section, turn the sponge over then clean the sponge. Repeat on another section until finished. Go back to the beginning and do it again. This way you minimize smearing the grout. Usually on the third pass the tiles are totally clean!

Found a KZbin video where a guy used a new empty caulk tube (Amazon) and filled it with grout to fill his shower tile joints. It kept the mess down, and used less grout. I tried it, but washed out a used latex caulk tube and plunger. Found that you needed to make the grout a little thinner. It saved mess, but mostly saved a ton of grout clean up !

never had floor grout. But I had to repair water damage floor and my daughter picked out the 4 ft long snap together composite tile for her bathroom. So we bought 4 boxes. and I had her start bringing them to me in bathroom to lay them 1 piece at a time and they were different colors and types and pieces of 2x4. Somebody had opened end of boxes, used the tile and then stuffed scrap wood back into boxes and returned them to Home depot. 3 of 4 boxes were garbage. Turns out some big contractor had bought a truckload and then returned 1/2 truckload and they were distributed all over Virgina and North Carolina before it was discovered. Keep up the great work looks wonderful

Off topic. The leaf blower is really good for cleaning the mini excavator, especially the undercarriage during spring and summer. Undercarriage (tracks, rollers, sprockets and idlers) really take a beating in uneven, rocky terrain that we have around here, really expensive to repair. Keeping it clean greatly increases the lifespan. Leafblower during dry months, shovel and leafblower in winter. Love watching you guys work together btw. Ambition, patience and common sense will take you far.
@GirdHerd2 жыл бұрын
Courtney, KZbin is your friend. A "how to grout" video would show you how to apply the grout on a diagonal to the joints. You should also sponge off small sections as you go so it doesn't dry on the tile. Anyway, my wife and I always go with colored grouts because white grout starts looking dirty with age. A gray, tan or brown grout (depending on your color scheme) is ideal.
