This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. kzbin.infoUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.

We're running our house off two 40lb cylinders harnessed together. I have four, so when two go empty, I swap out the harness and fill the empty ones. If you're not heating much with it, your kitchen stove will run forever on a 40lb cylinder, so I wouldn't worry about getting a bigger tank...

Put some jugs of water in the freezer, don't over-fill, only 3/4 of the way. Utilizes thermal mass to run your compressor less often once frozen. Long run times are better than frequent run times. It'll make your fridge WAY more efficient.

tbh nearly everyone fills up all of their freezer space pretty quickly, even if it's just with ice-cream, then they just eat what's in the fridge. I've barely managed to squeeze in two gel blocks that I use for work sandwiches

So my wife and I buy appliances and had them delivered to a house with wide doors, no steps, no funny maneuvers and they got damaged. You two goof balls drag them up a mountain, hoist them with jankie ropes and tackle through a hole in the wall and all good. Not even a scratch!!!!! Just don’t get it. You guys rock. Congratulations. It is certainly the simple things in life that are taken for granted.

Not sure how many 100 lb tanks you have, the goal should be 3. One in use, one spare, one to be filled. 1000 lb tanks would be sweet but you should check if you can get an inground 1000 lb tank as they won't vent in the summer & the lines won't freeze in the winter. Short term you should get a 100 lb tank gauge, C0² monitor, 35 lb tank with an adapter that matches your line (emergency backup). The smoke is from the light oil coating the cast iron parts. I hope you have a range vent. Things are looking great!

Just a heads up guys. If you keep drying your boots in front of the fire it will cause them to crack. Especially if they're leather. Love the channel and have been binge watching tonight from Brisbane Australia. Hoping to move back to Texas where I'm from and do something similar because there is NO WAY my wife could deal with winter any further North than San Antonio. She wears a sweatshirt in 95 degree weather and wont swim in anything colder than lava temperature bath water that'll melt the skin off a normal human!! As an earth moving equipment operator I'm really impressed how well you guys have done considering you have never operated!!! Few things have made me cringe but over all well done guys!!

Never store a propane tank next to a BBQ, inside your house, under your bedroom... I know you shut the gas off before going to bed, but pop a hole through the siding and get that tank out of your house! Preferably several feet away. Congrats on the appliances, enjoy the convenience!

Don't need scissor lift just good old forklift forks, basically you can make it as a project, you can take some off of old junk, there are even some very old that can be hand driven with chains. You will just need a stable platform underneath, and then wheels to move it away if not in use. I think Captain Kleeman had hydrolic one taken apart on his channel. P.S. BTW those pullies you got are great !

Be aware that you may have to change the jet size on the stove burners because the stove is so far above the tank (2nd floor stove and tank at ground level). It will still work as is (obviously) but may not get as hot as you’d like for hot oil frying and such. My mom had the same issue.

I know this was over a year ago, but for anyone else a pully is a great way of doing lifts, years ago we use to do super long carpet runs "Customers didn't want any glued together seems" so how to get a run of 300 to 400 lbs of carpet up to a second floor we did this but after the first few times someone gave us a wench "game changer" we would use a pully and the wench with the flick of a switch we were able to get heavy things to a second floor. if you don't have a wench you could use a car or something like a 4 wheeler and pull with that too. You two have done such an amazing job.

TIM from Canada I just started watching your video about you delivering your new fridge I keep telling you people you can use your excavator to put in your appliances you know this does work using your excavator to do your lifting is okay to do you do you know this right it is there use it in the winter time put the plough down shovel your snow use the broom on your excavator to lift your stuff you do realize it can be used for more than just thinking using your excavator for more just taking is okay to do you know use it for everything if you have to do deliveries use it.. I hope when you were making your apartment loft you made a pair of burned doors at the top so you can get your appliances or stuff in and out making an extra set of doors for deliveries will probably be the best interest for you to look into

I used to be a paramedic - please make sure to get a vent for that range and make sure it is running every time you cook with it. This is crucial. You don't want you or your doggos to risk intoxication. Also, get a CO detector for the kitchen and another one for the bedroom. And lastly, no propane cylinders inside a structure!
@aigarslacis4433

Now you need 2 things, fresh air supply to stove and you Jotul burner, and kitchen exhaust, I used Vilpe kitchen extractor that has exhaust fan located on the roof (installed all myself), just that it requires some particular hood for "driving" it. But likely you have something similar in the US ... BTW you don't necessarily need forced induction/exhaust, if you search around you may find some ideas on using natural draft air for gas stove exhaust, on old apartment houses we had those a lot. P.S. that is safety feature required here in Latvia.

I built a sled that I would load up and slide up/down the stairs using a small hand winch.
