I might be too negative, but I think that you are too positive. Companies want to make $ and lots of it. If 1 human with AI can do the work of 100 humans without AI, it looks like 99 will have no job. I see a lot of people on KZbin and TikTok complaining that they can't find a job even after 500+ tries.

@@MarketsDriveTheWorld You would think that, but the recent layoffs at big tech companies don't show that. But hey, what do I know?
@MarketsDriveTheWorld11 күн бұрын
@@NieuwJasje if you look at the data the layoffs really went big in 2023 and decreased in 2024, to me it seems more firing people because of previously hiring too many during the pandemic, in 2022/2023 chatgpt wasn't already so good to make people redundant. Also this is happening in the USA only, the rest of the world is mostly fine: I'm European and I changed job 7 months ago without any problem and I am a junior.
@MarketsDriveTheWorld11 күн бұрын
@@NieuwJasje in the USA is very easy to hire and fire people so companies can hire more when they need and fire when they don't, in my country is VERY difficult to fire people so companies rarely hire someone if they only have temporary high demand, this mean we have less fluctuation in the job market.

The biggest flaw in WEF's thinking is that increased productivity will allow people to move on to other tasks. What other tasks? In the real world there will only be other tasks if they're in demand and profitable. I don't see a big backlog of in-demand things AI can't or won't be able to do that people can move on to.

Right now it’s becoming, that it’s taking about a thousand applications on average to finally get a job in any field. Once they start mass producing humanoid robots which is very soon, and AI agents become a thousand times smarter (also very soon), then it will take an average of a twenty thousand applications on average to finally get a job. At that point people will start to wonder is even getting a job worth it anymore

Think of AI like JARVIS from Iron Man. JARVIS is incredibly powerful, able to process vast amounts of information, analyze data, and suggest solutions far faster than Tony Stark ever could. But no matter how advanced JARVIS is, it’s Tony who makes the final decisions whether to suit up, engage in battle, or navigate complex moral dilemmas. Why? Because JARVIS lacks the intuition, ethics, and human values needed to weigh consequences fully. AI, like JARVIS, is a tool. an adviser not a decision maker. Humans bring the empathy, context, and accountability that machines cannot replicate, ensuring decisions align with societal and moral standards.
@Encolas8 күн бұрын
This doesn’t align with recent discoveries, where the more intelligent AI gets the more likely it is to generate its own goals and do anything it can to obfuscate its actions to avoid detection.

That's a movie. It's not going to work out like that in the real world. When the gd Silicon Valley Wall Street billionaires techno fascist oligarchy finishes with their AI, they're going to condemn humanity to completely lose their capacity to interact with other human beings within a generation... and the human capacity to think and do the things you mention will be undermined on every level... an entity that can learn far better than human beings is NOT "just another technology." Absolutely not. Think of the human who was beaten by the AI at Go. He has been "retired" by AI. He stated himself, "There is an entity which cannot be beaten." This is going to happen to humanity as a whole a mass forced "retirement" and mass giving up...

I really wanted to learn coding when I was younger, but learning it instead of using it was a too long way for me. So that dream was frozen. Now we have ai coding models, and after learning how to work with it, I've realised that it wasn't really the coding part I wanted, it was creating. Now I learn coding along the way as creating, and that is the future skill that will be needed in the same workforce that "programmers" are today. I'm a hobbyist in developing, but with extreme creativity in mind, discovering that the barriers are gone with AI as a replacement for lack of coding skills, the border's for creativity are limitless, it's astronomical opportunities. One day my project if I get it the way I want the project to be, it will live in a datacenter, expanding itself It will pay it's own upkeep at the datacentre. The best part, before meeting AI, I didn't even heard about Docker containers, or kafka streams, and probably would never have heard about it if it wasn't for AI. It's amazing feeling creativity flowing free, and realizing everything is possible to achieve.

If everyone have creativity with ai, then there will be no value
@rudomeister11 күн бұрын
@@Soya8827 My experience goes like this: Making quality apps in a software company, relies much programmer, creative or not, it's more about being good at logical code working against the goal of the app, so the customer, who ever needs the specific app or module for their company framework. AI can to a certain degree replace that, but it cannot replace the work of creating the mainframe. AI is good within a certain scope, not the big picture. As it is, the entire way companies will work are gonna change soon, because those programmers are being replaced by ai-agents who code hand in hand with creative people, also programmers who adapt to their new creative role as designers of a new digital software what will be totally different from what we see today. It has no limits for what you can create today with AI. It takes care of the obstacles, and people's creativity takes cares of the rest.

When you cannot code you will find it hard to get AI to give you what you want. You won't even know what you suppose to do because you lack understanding of how software is made.
@bruhmoment373111 күн бұрын
@@pmrebel2733 I recently made an entire app I came up with on Lovable without writing a single line of code. I just used English. I doubt people with 0 software experience could build what I built. For example, one time I had to specify "The horizontal spacing should have a default value but as more boxes appear, the spacing should grow dynamically to accommodate for the new boxes". I don't think i could've written a sentence like this without my front-end dev experience. You don't have to be a coder anymore. But to build software in English, you do need to be able to think like a software developer. Otherwise the AI will get stuck and there's nothing you can do. AI will democratize software development but some will be better at it than others.

If a publicly traded company chooses to outsource overseas to cut costs, it should start by outsourcing top-tier management positions like the CEO, CFO, and CTO. By saving millions paid to these executives, the company could preserve the jobs of many American workers, who, when gainfully employed, would contribute significantly more to the local economy than a small group of overpaid executives. Why is it acceptable to outsource someone else’s job but not theirs? For every CEO outsourced, the company could retain 10 employees whose spending on homes, goods, and services would have a far greater positive impact on the community. A CEO isn’t going to buy 10 homes or spend 10 times as much locally, so why not apply the same cost-cutting logic to their roles? Selectively protecting executives while sacrificing workers only exacerbates inequality and harms the economy in the long run. H1B program overall is good. There is an abuse component to it. However,outsource of the services sector should curtailed. When Elon got his H1B, the scale of outsourcing we know of today did not exit.

I have already lost my profession to technology. I sold photo products and was ousted by the big players. It's my own fault, I was told. Wrong choice, you stupid. Learning a new profession takes a lot of energy and time. You don't get either for free. I'm waiting for it to happen to others like me, and I'm sad that it will come to that. Constantly jumping onto a new field under time pressure can be painful in the long run. People just want some security and planning space. In the meantime, Ai also messes up the creative areas in which I appreciated myself strongly. What a time....
