It is no surprise, then, that creative thinking is frequently ranked as the number one leadership competency. Top organizations around the world today recognize the value of failure as the key to ultimate success.
In this seminar, you will learn concrete steps to get more comfortable taking risks and promote a working environment where failure is not only accepted but encouraged. Normally taught as a day-long workshop, in the seminar you will be introduced to seven activities under the acronym FAILURE to help you accept, endure, prevent, recover from and facilitate intelligent failure. Hand-outs for activities will be provided for participants to complete.
Presenter Biography
Jane Machin, MFA, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Willamette University. She earned her doctorate in Marketing at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Fine Arts in Design Thinking at Radford University. Prior to becoming an academic Jane worked in international brand management with Unilever PLC. Jane is an energetic educator with experience teaching design thinking, advertising, creativity and innovation at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
