My (nearly 4yo) German Shepherd likes to play rough with other dogs, especially when they're running. How would you recommend teaching him not too do that?

I’m having the exact same problem with mine. He plays perfectly, as long as he isn’t sprinting and chasing another dog. Once that starts he almost gets tunnel vision and once he catches the other dog he is very rough. Never aggressive, but it does get a quite over the top and he can inadvertently hurt another dog

How do I get my German Shepherd to calm down in the house?

Ok cool cool. So HOW do I stop my dog from playing rough? This is a very misleading title, you were just talking about when it is and when it isn't ok to rough play, which is honestly quite obvious. HOW do you have control and leadership over your dogs, you spent so long talking about the leadership and control you have, I think a video telling us the training steps involved in getting to that point might be a bit more helpful. I guess we all have to earn a buck some way or another.

my 15 week male GSD thinks he can jump on and initiate rough play with me when I'm sitting on the sofa. I know I need to address this problem NOW. I'm having as hard time getting him to take my leadership seriously. What am I doing be wrong?
