Its been a project to say the least one thing after another breaking or having issues. Guess that's how it works sometime with boats. This is where it started ▶kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6bcYWOXmLODg8k The Green Machine is running the truck as been broke for a year Matt is super excited

Low refrigerant equals low pressure which lowers the refrigerant temp below freezing and at the same time low refrigerant equals low capacity and thats why only the first couple of rows freeze and the last few rows dont get much "cold capacity" at all. When you have the right amount of refrigerant the pressure is high enough to prevent freezing and the capacity is high enough to make all the rows cold

In my opinion hard-starts solve a side-effect but not a problem and then the client question your compentecy when the real problem manifests again. You can meg-ohm the windings to check for compressor or blower motor winding break down and if they meg-ohm good and the running and starting voltage and amps are good then you likely have a mechanically tight/binding compressor or blower motor.

At first I was inclined to blame the manufacturer, but then I thought of the Hinckley/ Morris rudder issue and am now bewildered. Both these two American builders are known for quality and you pay for it! BTW, how many hours do engines have on them?

12:05 Get a power probe and a power probe relay testing module. Plug the relays in and test them on the spot. Power probe itself pays for itself after two uses lol (That’s if you don’t already have one which you may)

Try the cheap Skill driver or the versatile Milwaukee driver/drill with multiple heads for tight spaces. My best to you both.

I was curious, what is your experience with thermostats, plugs and water pumps at 300hours? On every outboard I have owned, (all Mercury's) when I changed out the water pumps and plug, I can never see any wear on the impellors and no difference in how the boats run when I change the plugs. I do run in deep clean saltwater (San Diego area) or fresh water, Colorado river. One time I actually put the old impeller back in by accident.

What is the history on that boat? What brand year and hours. It appears to be a “garage queen” .. “dock queen?”. I know boats are maintenance intensive but this one appears to be like the two MGs I foolishly bought in my younger years. Drive ‘em, fix ‘em, fix ‘em again …then re-fix ‘em. She appears to be of recent vintage, and I would really be irked regarding the constant issues. It is a fortuitous thing the owner has a relationship with your good service company.

Just my opinion but I have worked on all kinds of generator systems up to the big plant systems and it was a much better life as a tech responsible for PMs and repairs or installation and setup before software came into the business. I understand the capabilities and advantages but when you have to gear up with all the extra test equipment and attending factory schools every year or two it just gets to not as fun as it used to be.
