I like the idea of Ryan being possessed by a Demon and that Demon having to fight off other powerful spirits and Demons for control of Ryan's body. So every time Ryan and Shane enter a haunted place Ricky G scares off all the lesser spirits and the limited communication that they get are stray spirits trying to warn them.

Personally I prefer the idea of Shane being the demon and doing all the frightening off of other demons and ghosts to protect his pal....while also screwing with his human friends by insisting that ghosts and demons don't exist despite being a demon. I mean heck, at one point Shane flat out questions if there might be good demons. That could be him trying to get recognition.

I came up with my own, alternate story for Ricky Goldworth, I hope you enjoy... His name? Ricky Goldsworth. Why is he a person of interest? Despite being a brilliant detective, he is known for his short-temper and aggression. So when his ex-wife, Juliette Ruby, winds up dead in her apartment and he skips town, there’s definitely some shady stuff going on here. The last we heard of him was when he wound up at a dingy motel in the Los Angeles area, under the alias Bobby Oliver. Locals had reported his odd behaviors, such as pacing through the motel building, cigar after cigar, and watching people exit and enter their rooms. When we heard of this suspicious man, we knew it was our guy, but when we arrived at the motel, Ricky was nowhere to be seen. The only thing left behind was a clip on necktie, empty cigar boxes, a shattered window, and a small .20 caliber pistol with no ammunition around. We found a small note next to the bathroom mirror, reading: Not this time dear friends. It wasn’t me, though it seems it was. May Ms. Ruby rest in peace. Take good care of the gun, it was my father’s -B.O. or, R.G. After we searched the room, there was nothing left to find of interest, and that was last we heard of the mysterious, Ricky Goldsworth.
