When was this interview? Friedkin just passed away. RIP. What a rebellious, ground breaking storyteller and filmmaker.

Mr. Friedkin's stories and anecdotes are as entertaining as his movies. I've watched so many that when he passed, I felt as if I'd lost a friend. The world did indeed lose a true genius. May he fly with the angels.❤

That “get a grip on yourself” line was great, and went totally unnoticed! Genius

My favorite director for a reason. Never gave a chance to others to defame him . Slapped everyone who passed unneccesary comment on his works

Loved films all my years but never paid much attention to directors. This guy grabs your interest immediately and keeps it. Really tells it as he sees it. RESPECT!

He really was one of the greatest filmmakers (up there with some of my favorites - Martin Scorsese, Michael Mann, Quinten Tarantino, Oliver Stone etc.) Some of his films are my all-time favorites; Exorcist, French Connection and To Live & Die in L.A. His work will live on but his presence will ALWAYS be missed❤🥺🙏

In my opinion, the scene when Lankester Merrin is standing in front of the brownstone, is thee GREATEST visual scene in cinematic history!

Friedkin often said he had yet to live up to the early promise of his career. How awesome that he had the one-two punch of Bug and Killer Joe to bookend his filmography.

I heard a different story about Pierre Bonnard. Bonnard went into a museum with his son, who distracted the guard long enough for Bonnard to add yellow paint, which he secreted in his coat pocket, to one of his paintings. Bonnard felt that some of his paintings didn't have enough yellow in them.

What an interesting director William Friedkin was. He such a great story teller I could listen him talk for ever so witty as well. The Exorcist have to be the most shocking horror film ever made- even today it's still shocking. I saw Killer Joe that's a disturbing movie to watch, the scene with the chicken drumstick and Matthew Macgonney really disturbing. He was really creepy in that role. His best performance todate.

Sorcerer, The French Connection both the toughest grittiest films made by William Friedkin expert to put suspense in realism. He had keen recommendation for Peter Boyle to do Popeye which Gene Hackman got the part. Francisco Rabal who appeared in Sorcerer to do Fernando Rey's part as Charnier, RIP Mr Friedkin

Yes - coherent, intelligent and engaging. The antithesis of Trump. I’m not a film buff, but I’m drawn to Mr Friedkin’s interviews. Magnificent.
