I did alittle googling on the 320th infantry, formed August 5th 1917 they fought in the Meuse-Argonne offensive, which is still one of the bloodiest campaigns america ever took part in, they fought between September 26th 1918 to armistice day November 11th 1918. Kidney failure isn’t as bad as it sounds. I have stage 3 kidney failure due to dying due to a massive internal bleed. I have 20% function left in both kidneys and I’m not on any kidney medications and eat and drink anything I want including alcohol. I just have a blood test from my kidney expert every 6 months to make sure I’m not getting worse. The only real impact is if I get sick and dehydrated I end up in hospital when a normal person would just take the day off work.

That was my first modem. It had a special feature where you could use it with a TRS-80 Model I without having to have the expensive "Expansion Interface" which you needed for an RS-232 port. (It wasn't EIA-232 yet and was still a recommended standard, btw.) The problem with using the cassette port for the modem was that while it worked in full-duplex, if you typed while data were (slooowly) being displayed, it would scramble the text for the next couple of lines. It was character building, both figuratively and literally.
