He is a highly skilled man and a hard nut to boot. How many folk have “worked from home” today. , gazing out of a window , drinking coffee , answering some emails. This guy has to rock up with the right parts and overcome all the mechanical obstacles and deliver a finished, working job to get paid and guarantee his work. If I wore a hat it would be raised to this man in respect

Please don’t feel bad about your long reply. I quite enjoyed reading it. You’re doing all the right things with the right discipline for endurance. Endurance is what makes us into ‘super human’ qualities. Sadly most people don’t recognise that. As for myself, I just turned 75. I am no athlete but I always stayed fit and active with the same type of discipline. Btw, I just finished my strength training workout!!! (I hope you enjoy my longer response). Take care, my friend.

It doesn’t raise high enough for front wheel drive. A shame really as it a great kit. But waayy too low. With RWD I can at least work in the transmission tunnel.

Yes a lift would definitely help you. Some years ago my friend used to do this type of work in a workshop and although I often suggested it to him, he only bought one when his son came to work with him because he wasn’t prepared to do routine jobs kneeling.

Quick tip: instead of duct tape, to stop the steering wheel turning, i pass the seatbelt through it and buckle it in.

That happens a lot. But during the booking process we inform customers to get it replaced by local mobile mechanics before we come in for the repair. If they can’t find anyone then I’ll jump in and replace it

I use it only for RWD.. all wheels needs to be up in the air.

Kevin, what’s your take on those quick jacks? They any good? Or kind of unnecessary, feel like they need a couple more inches ground clearance to be worth there keep?

I can only use them for BMW’s as all wheels needs to be up. That’s the reason I don’t use them hardly. It just lacks in height. I wouldn’t be able to roll over my shoulder without hitting the car. It’s just too low.

Maybe in around 1997 i was horrified that had to remove subframe on the latet vauxhall cavaliers at the time😂😂😂 and now its just normal...The battery tools have come along a lot in the last 25 years,first for me was a 12volt snap on impact and never batery ratchets...i just use the ryobi ones now as cheap amd easily available in Spain and France..treat them as consumables😅

Indeed indeedy. My very first introduction to battery powered tools for this line of work was a Ryobi impact gun and a grinder. Lasted about 6 months. But it opened my eyes to the Milwaukee. Never looked back since ..!!

Also maybe a little tip about holding the steering wheel on the Ford, I just simply take the seat belt and run it through the bottom of the steering wheel then latch it in the buckle.

Valeo clutch are really good. Sometimes better than LUK.. a lot of manufacturers are switching to Valeo from production line….

I have also had good experiences with Aysin clutches. Valeo is also a good manufacturer.

It comes with different height blocks. For lower cars i use that flat blocks.
