I watch over & over learning from you. I was just looking for tips on a simple cabinet touchup for a Gorgar machine I just purchased when I found your videos. Now I'm in the middle of a complete teardown & rebuild. Thanks Chris for the inspiration!

Awesome start. I look forward to seeing the playfield paint work. I know these are a ton of work but you make it look easy. Once again thanks for the efforts to take us along for the ride. I swear I learn something on each video.

Great stuff Chris! Love your attention to detail. I too have a customer who wants to bring one if these into my place for restoration. EMs are a TON of work to get clean and right. Kudos!

Wow. Another EM!!! This is going to be interesting. Please do concentrate on the internals and how you refurbish it. I am really interested. Thanks for making the videos.

Chris - It has been awhile (I took a KZbin fast to get some sh*t done). As always, I am humbled by the master of pinball restoration -- I'm not worthy! Keep rocking!

I use the same replacement cords Chris . They are much better quality than what the originals came with . Plus the added length is always nice to have. I think every machine I’ve ever owned or restored has been missing the ground pin , not sure why ? But it’s usually one of the first things I do is replace the cord ! Nice work as always , you inspire me to do better !

Where did you get the better backglass?

Hi, thx a lot for the video. But I have some questions: which kind of cleaning spray are you using for cleaning the EM parts from the playfield backside, the "motherboard" from the cabin and the backbox EM parts? I've never seen before, that someone is using this kind of clleaning stuff and water to clean all these things. I'll get a Star-Flite from Williams in the next time and it is in a very poor condition. Maybe I need a new backglas. Where could I get it? Greetings from Germany.

Hi. These are not really meant to be how to videos although you can definitely learn from them and I do occasionally put helpful information in there That stated. I am using an orange based non corrosive degreaser on the first pass and dawn spray soap on the second. It’s important to use a non corrosion cleaner so you know that once dry you have not invited corrosion into your mechs or wiring. I am hesitant to reveal my sources for certain parts not because I want to but because I don’t want to create issues for those that make quality products for quality minded people. Thats all I can comfortably say on that subject but I wish it were not an issue.

Your not ranking on CPR . Thats just ridiculous man. I had an issue with a back glass from them as well. Unfortunately nobody else made them and the original was completely gone , no chance of saving it . I believe Bally started messing with the paint around then and although the colors were awesome they found out that the paint didn’t move with the glass and it literally came off in huge pieces . That’s how it was when I found it . Anyhow I appreciate you calling it out for what it is !

CPR sucks. Flat out.

I really can’t believe that the glasses are this fragile. I had a few start bubbling just sitting in the box and they said it was humidity. Little did they know I am a climate control obsessed nut case. I have a humidity sensor in every room and so of course it wasn’t that. If they don’t bubble then they scratch far too easily. Fuzzy dark, weird color choices, missing colors or details just bad glasses only better than blown out or nothing sometimes. I have a couple thousand dollars or more in flawed glasses they were going to replace but never did so I have no real reason not to crush them but I really do hope they figure it out nonetheless because we could use good products.

My Viking glass remake was horrible in many ways. Kevin just ridiculed me and others with a huge post basically saying we all crazy.

Was this a newer direct print run on thr BG? I dont remember it looking that way color wise when i set it up many years ago.i dont remember my copies scratching off either like that.
@highendpins2 ай бұрын
Possibly. It was already in place when the game arrived so I am not sure when it was run. It is extremely fragile though in terms of the art adhesion.

What products are you using when you are cleaning off the wiring/components/etc.? Looks like 2 different cleaners you’re spraying/scrubbing it down with?

Hi, Chris! 1) Is the backglass you sourced a repro or a nice original? 2) Face the facts, you’re old, man! And I’m even older than you! We should embrace our ‘wisdom’ and ‘experience’ rather than our grey hairs and body aches! 😂 Keep up the great work!

Yes that’s a homemade replacement.(not by me ). Ten days from now I am going to be 52. Happens fast! I have been doing this since I was 30 and it gets easier every year but the challenges greater. It’s a strange dynamic.

@highendpins that's because the replacement parts get worse IMO
