Don't feel bad about not finding external options for the Rockies, it's the youth that's we're excited about. This team is sneakily deeper than they've been in a long time, particularly in the rotation and the bullpen. This is their year to push to 75-ish wins (low bar, I know) and set the foundation. The manager is on a one year prove it deal, and they have no incentive to tank, because if they get a lottery spot tomorrow (which they almost certainly will) they can't pick higher than 10 next year.

I get Jack's point, but Soto is generationally great and he is worth it. Every team he's been on, they transform into a World Series contender for as long as he's there. Nats (won the WS), Padres (made the NLCS for the first time in forever), and the yankees (made the WS first time in 15 years). So it's easy to see the difference he makes it's plain as day

TON has a cryptonite of sliders from RHP. If they can teach him to lay off he’d be fine against RHP

I’m a tigers fan i’m not giving up the farm for a 33 year old Yandy with a 1 WAR especially when Josue Briceno can be our future first baseman. Josue Briceno also spend over 100 AB’s in High A and because he did so well in the AFL the tigers can have him spend one month in High A and then he will be in double A. Also giving up Hao Yu Lee is wild too. This is an overpay i’d rather sign Carlos Santana to a 1 year deal or Paul Goldschmidt.

Obviously hard to note what the Rockies will do. Only thing about a Brian De La Cruz is Bud Black has a weird thing of over playing vets like Jake cave played 120 games last season. So I’d almost force him to play the young guys

They tend to show their hand in who they see as the future based on how often they let them play. For example, they gave NoJo, Tovar, Doyle, Beck, and Amador consistent playing time when they got called up, while they never could seem to find a spot for a Goodman or a Bouchard. I think based off the playing time they gave Beck, they'll roll with Jones, Doyle, and Beck to start the year, with Hilliard as the 4th outfielder.

Ok genuine question- what’s so bad about swapping Kyren Paris for Casey Mize??? You guys yourselves have said the Angels need any pitching they can get. Trading Kyren Paris, a 5th infielder at best, for a controllable arm with some upside. Do I trust the Angels to get anything out of him? No, of course not! But calling that a bad trade is confusing to me. Frankly it’s better for the Angels than it would be for Detroit

Willy Adames got his 15 minutes of fame before the whole world dropped his signing like a bad habit. At least people learned how to pronounce his name, I heard Adams and Adam-mess. Try $765 million with $120 million upfront in year one and you can keep all your deferrals thank you. Insanity. Juan Soto will make about the same cash in his first two years that Willy Adames will make during his entire contract.

If tatis hot the open market with his age and his defense he would be a 600 guy and that’s crazy

I'd rather take the risk on developing Briceno than getting an old Yandy for a team that still isn't that good.
