There is an interresting theory that he has gone to that place as a kid,with his family. Until something brutal and traumatizing happened to him and his parents(probably got killed). And now he has PTSD and no longer talks,and has the obsession(OCD) with cleaning up the place,allegedly to restore it's innocence that he associates with his childhood spent there.

I watched this film twice and came to the following conclusion: Cage is an angel as in heavenly being angel, who was sent to Willy's Wonderland to eliminate the demons and free the town. First, Cage never speaks and Angels never spoke unless God commanded them to. Second, he has no trouble at all handling these demons who've killed dozens of people. He tears them up like nothing. Angels are God's warriors. Thirdly, he fulfills his promise to clean up Willy's Wonderland. Lastly, he saves the only innocent in the film. So, at its core it's a religious film. Go figure....
