I think those people who attended deserve a REAL Willy Wonka experience, one that has real thought and care put into it. I’d go as far as hiring the same actors, give them the gig they thought they were signing up for, hire some actual human artists to help design promotional art AND set work. Even if it would end up costing an arm and a leg to get off the ground, I think it would be worth it as something to really emphasize Human Imagination, Human Creativity, and over all, the Spirit of what a magical candy factory SHOULD be.

The funny thing is, it's SOOOO easy to decorate with cheap-ass things and make it look nice and fancy. These people didn't even try. You just get a bunch of cardboard or prexisting stuff and paint it. Have a ball pit and paint them like candy. Get a chocolate fountain set it up with dollar store pretzels, marshmallows, fruit on sale for the parents to have a chill moment. Soda fountain, actual fountain. Tea party area. Make the tunnel but dip/paint a roll of paper in black dye and a glaze then call it licorice and run that shit around things, just have the tunnel go to a "secret area". Hand out home-made lollipops. Melt down some chocolate into molds that are themed and hand them out. Have your actors do a song and dance and interact with the kids as the finale It's so fucking easy. The hard things are getting the website, getting the actors, and getting noticed. It's only an hour.

Remember folks, even if they offer full refunds it's STILL a scam. It's very rare that every single person claims their refund and the owners still get to keep whatever's left. The same thing happened with The Day Before, only 51% of Steam users where refunded and the owners of that game who also didn't pay their employees removed all traces of themselves and disappeared.
@patrickdix77210 ай бұрын
To be fair, it's not Willy Wonka, since that's still under copyright. Apparently, it's Willy McDuffy (SP? and IIRC) in the script. The Oom[a Loompas are actually Wonkydoodles (again SP and IIRC). They very specifically didn'y say Wonka anywhere, just heavily implied it and let people assume it was Wonka. It's pretty much the same idea of mockbusters, like Transmorphers released around the same time as Transformers.

So, the reason they hold the event after all that is for legality reasons. If they *do not hold the event at all* -- this is 100% a scam, which means they are [basically guaranteed to get]* a lawsuit and would be guaranteed to lose said lawsuit. HOWEVER, if they hold the event - this is no longer a 100% scam, which means it becomes more difficult to guarantee that the people filing the lawsuit against them will win. It also means that it is that much harder to get the full amount of money from the company that basically scammed everyone They basically have to choose "guaranteed loss when caught with need to try to hide/escape" vs "dip in profits but chance of getting away mostly intact, with [potential]* decreases in penalties if they don't manage to get away completely," and it's pretty easy to see what people would choose in that scenario. Obviously, people generally shouldn't be going around getting themselves into this sort of situation by scamming others in the first place. Quite frankly, I don't think any reasonable person actually wants to see this guy get away with any of this [and judging by other comments, not likely to get away with it either]*
