➤Wilson Pro Staff Six.One 100 v14 Racquet: www.tennis-warehouse.com/descp...
➤Introducing the Pro Staff Six.One 100 v14! With this racquet Wilson adds another chapter to the Six.One legend. Like the previous generation, this racquet will appeal to intermediate and advanced players who crave controllable power and great feel. In addition to an open 16x19 string pattern, this racquet not only comes around fast but it also has enough mass to redirect higher levels of pace. For 2023 Wilson brings back that classic Pro Staff feel with Paradigm Bending, a layup technology that optimizes the flex between hoop and shaft. This racquet also has FORTYFIVE technology, which strategically aligns the graphite fibers at a 45 degree angle to increase lateral bending through impact. With some nice updates to the feel, the Pro Staff Six.One continues to be a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want a versatile player's racquet with controllable power and great feel.

This racquet replaced my Head Extreme Tour as my main. 100 Racquet head on a Pro Staff offers a lot of forgiveness while still having that Pro Staff plow through. I played with with the 6.1 95 Classic as a teen in the 90s and this reminds me of it. I wish I was able to play with the heavier versions of the Pro Staff line but I find the Six One 100 a nice blend of the modern light racquets and the pro staff feel.

Didn’t like the 100. Launch angle was too high and too much spin, felt like I was moon balling every shot. Maybe if I was a clay court player more regularly but for acrylic courts and Astro turf I’m happy with my 97 🤙🏻

Thanks. That shoe is the B.Icon 2. It is a good fit for me as it is a contoured medium fit and I have narrow feet. Nice and low to the ground ride while still offering ample cushioning and I find them very supportive. Cheers, Chris, TW

Review the 6.1 95. That racquet was such a beauty and would love to know how the new “pro stock” plays.

Is this more of a entry point for intermediate players interested in the prostaff or is the prostaff x better? I really like the plush of the new prostaffs but only tried the x. Was wanting to see what else was different between the two other than the quick launch of this one relative to the X as noted by Michelle. Thanks

I think it really comes down to feel. The Six One line from wilson has always had a bit firmer crisper feel to it, due to the oval shaped beam, compared to the more plush feel, or flexible feel with the box beam of the Pro Staff (although the RF97 is pretty stiff). I think the 16x19 pattern on this one makes for easy spin and launch angle, and maybe that slightly thicker beam makes for a livelier response compared to the X. So once again feel is a big part, I am fond of the Six One feel going back to the old 95 18x20 6.1, but a lot players prefer the feel of the current Pro Staff 97 v14 and X. Troy, TW

Really great review! Wonder if it’s for a new beginner, which you would recommend more, six one or X?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
We typically wouldn't recommend either of the two racquets for a new beginner. If I had to pick one I might go with this Six One 100 as it 305 grams unstrung compared to 315 grams with the X. That said, we would likely recommend something like a Wilson Ultra or Clash 100, 100L, or 108 for more of a true beginner, or plenty of other options from other brands. Troy, TW

@@tenniswarehouseThanks for ur suggestion! Tbh I’m really into the look of staff pro v14, and that’s why I wanna have one as my first. Could you tell me why you don’t recommend v14 for a new beginner?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
Pro Staff racquets in general are typically suited for strong intermediate level to advanced level players, being that they are designed for precision and control. Typically for beginning level players we recommend something a little more user-friendly or forgiving, hence the other racquets I mentioned. That is not say that a beginner can't use the Pro Staff racquets, it will just be more demanding at times. There is also the 97L, which is a bit lighter, that said the glossy paint on the Six One 100 looks pretty nice. Troy, TW

We like strings such as Tecnifibre NRG2, Wilson NXT Power. Also, for a better value we like the Head Velocity MLT, or Tecnifibre Multifeel. Troy, TW

I would say pretty comparable overall. Even though stiffness rating are slightly different, for some reason I felt this v14 version felt a bit more plush, or smooth feeling on contact, and maybe a bit crisper feel on the v13; maybe due to the flex up in the hoop, which isn't necessarily detected by the RDC machine. Is there any other racket that’s similar to the Pro Staff 100? How does it compare to the blade 98 ?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse 8 ай бұрын
It's is somewhat unique based on the feel and stiffness. The best way I can explain it, is if you have tried a Six.One 95 in the past either 16x18 or 18x20, this 100 has some of that solid and firm feel, without being to stiff or harsh feeling, but the 100 head gives it easier use and forgiveness. That said, not the pin point precision that you might find from the Six.One 95 18x20. There is the Pro Staff X, also a 100 but more headlight feeling and also a bit more plush feel on contact. I guess maybe you can make a comparison to something like the Yonex Percept 100D, although this Six One 100 swings with more heft or plow through. Troy, TW

@@tenniswarehouse Thanks Troy. I play with the Pro Staff 100 v13 and your description is exactly how I feel about it. However, as you said it is kind of hefty. So I am looking to see if there's any racket that performs like the Pro Staff 100 but just a bit more agile and a bit less heft. Again, as you said, it is somewhat unique and I haven't yet find one that's similar.

How would this compare to the vcore Pro 100? Also, is there an update coming for the prince beast 98?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
The VCORE Pro 100 feels a bit softer, so slightly more comfort. It also maneuvers a bit easier, and has a slightly bigger sweet-spot. This Six One 100 feels a bit more precise, swings with a bit more plow through, and a slightly firmer/crisper pop to it on contact. As far as the Beast 98, we have not heard or know of a replacement or update. There are some newer versions of the Beast 100, sold at Tennis Warehouse Europe, but not a 98 version unfortunately. How does it compare to the Wzone 100?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
I think you meant EZONE 100? If so, this one has more control and feel, and also a bit more plow through. Even though the testers mentioned a flighty response sometimes on flatter strokes, the EZONE 100 offers easier power overall, and a bit more maneuverable feel. Spin potential is pretty good with both, and maybe just a bit more comfort overall with the EZONE 100. Troy, TW

What s the difference between this one and the X i m confused
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
Specs are pretty close overall, so yes it is a bit confusing. But I would say the biggest difference is slightly due to the thickness of the frame (a bit thicker with the Six One 100), and mostly the feel difference that comes from the oval shaped beam of the Six One 100, and the box or square shaped beam of the Pro Staff X. I found a slightly firmer feel, and a bit more pop on the ball with that oval shape and slightly thicker beam of the Six One 100. With the Pro Staff X it feels slightly more plush, and a bit more smooth on contact, but also a bit less energy return, or that pop that I referred to. Troy, TW

@@tenniswarehouse i played with the six one for 2 matches, demo racket. I love how solid it fell, when you swing right before contact you can feel the weight transfer toward to head of the racket. The racket fell heavier than its weight. Only thing is after playing my forearm fell overworked, I don t know if that s a frame that can put my arm at risk or if it was the strings used (i dont know what string they put). Have you guys tried the blade 100 16x19, if yes how does it compare ?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
@@matrevel9938, We are currently testing the Blade 100 v8 at the moment, so stay tuned for the review video in a few weeks. I would say so far, definitely an arm friendly response, plush, and overall pretty maneuverable feel. From the small amount of time I hit with it, it doesn't feel quite as solid as the Six One 100 in stock form, but more comfortable and easier to whip around. Troy, TW

@@tenniswarehouse thanks Troy ! i played 2 matches with the six one to demo, just picked up the X and playing later today with it, then I ll demo the blade 100 too and see how I go. I tried the gravity pro too which was very good too, but I m a bit addicted to the solidity feel upon contact of the pro staff six one for example.

@@tenniswarehouse Just had a hit with the pro staff X and I share your thoughts, I feel that the six one has a bit more pop / firm. I also feel that on the six one, the head is heavier, especially as you are about to strike the ball on forehand when the racket gets close from your hip, suddently the weight transfer to the head is quite noticeable which i have not experienced with the pro staff X today. Considering wilson QC, I wonder if that s across all six ones or just the one I tried... But they are very similar, I really like them. Like a better version of the gravity pro too.
