I have tested the new Wilson Ultra Pro. Great racquet - but should come with some lead or tungsten tape! 🎾Written post: tennisnerd.net/gear/racquets/...

Great review! Just FYI,I have the previous Ultra Tour v2 and I'm pretty sure it's also got a glossy finish, not like the matte finish on the Blade v7 - which is annoying because the gloss paint chips whereas the matte one tends to just scratch instead...

The gloss paint on V2 was terrible, it would flake or chip at the slightest impact and also if folk removed lead carelessly. How does the paint hold on up the Pro Jonas? Cheers

Hi Jonas - your shots are looking really good with this racquet! I was wondering how you would compare it (and the PT 2.0 for that matter) to the Dunlop CX 200 Tour you used to play with (including any requisite customizations of course).

Thanks for the video:)! It was amazing! I have a question that I am using blade pro 18 20 and love it. I tried 16 19 as well but I prefer 18 20. However, I am now considering to switch ultra pro 16 19 or 18 20. Which strings pattern do you recommend?

Hi, if you have to choose to play with a racquet in stock form between this ultra pro, Blade 98 18x20 or Clash 98 wich you will take? Of this 3 wich one you think is a better racquet overall?

Great video Jonas!! Thanks a lot man! How does the original Ultra Tour compare vs the PT2.0? Which is plusher and flexier?

@@Tennisnerd Thanks man...I meant the original Ultra Tour, since you mention the Ultra Pro is a tad stiffer due to the new pj most likely....PT2.0 still more flexy and plush? Or somewhere in between the two Ultra 97 versions?

Hej! /John

This is getting weird. I committed to the head pro tour but I’ve now come to realise it’s a bit too demanding. So I’m trying my best to stay with the ultra pro I recently bought. 6 grams at 3 & 9, leather grip. Head mlt at 25kg, lynx tour 23.5kg. Great set up

hi jonas, this is pretty much the kblade tour 93 isnt it? the ultra pro has a 1mm thicker beam, a bigger head at 97, but its got the same string pattern, a similar swing weight, and it seems like it plays the same, as it is a whippy kind of racket uncustomized. I am having trouble finding a second kblade tour 93 for a good price, so this might be a good update/replacement. Do you think that is the case? thanks in advance if you ever get around to answering :)

@OldSkoolLegend

Do you know if the head shape is the same as the Head Pro Tour 2.0? or is it rounder like Prince teardrop? It's hard to truly tell when you dont see it in real life. I love my phantom 97P but I want a slightly thicker beam.... so im looking at this Wilson. But at the same time I dont like the ''tall" oval shape of the Head Pro Tour 2.0.

I have 2x Angell Custom TC 97 (16x19) & really there's little comparison. I commented above that this Wilson Ultra v3 was very underwhelming. I guess it really needs a fair amount of weight and plenty of tinkering to get it decent. Plus the quality of paint was really bad & I've never noticed or seen paint on a brand new racquet look about to start peeling. So, Angell on quality alone just well in front. Cheers
@mikemu9897
@mikemu9897 3 жыл бұрын
So was it customized with 2g on 12 and 4g on 3 and 4g on 9? Or was it 4g total for 3 & 9?
@nostro1001
@nostro1001 4 жыл бұрын
I tested this racquet roughly a month ago now. I was disappointed/underwhelmed and was expecting much more. Also, the quality of the paint was the worst I've ever seen on a so called premium racquet. My demo was brand new and I could already see areas where paint was about to start peeling away. It's true I didn't tinker with it too much. I only added 2.5g weight at both 3&9 as that was a recommended set up from a friend. And I didn't have the opportunity to test a variety of strings and tensions. Nothing really wrong with it just like that; I think I was expecting much more is part of the issue. For anybody considering something like this, a custom Angell 97 to me is far superior, both in quality, but most importantly playability. Cheers 🎾🎾

It looks like a great frame, but I just wouldn't buy anything from Wilson given their atrocious quality control. Conversely, I just received an Angell TC100 63RA which came right on specs (310g / 315mm balance). Why people keep on buying off the peg racquets with specs all over the place, when customised options exactly on specs are available at the same price or a marginal extra cost, is beyond me.
