I’ve been watching several of your GTO videos and I can honestly say this does NOT qualify as a budget build. This car is going to be awesome when it’s done, and appears that money was no object, no corners were cut. 💯%

Thank you JD.. I'm not trying to cut any corners on this build. I'm doing this for myself. That's why it's taking me a long time to get this car complete. I am doing the transmission tunnel now. I should be done in the next week or two. All the best. Thanks for watching!!

Super Video you really help me alot. I purchased Hotchkis and Wilwood their instructions could have both been alot clearer. Waiting on my steering brackets to come from Summit. Thanks again

Hi. Thank for the kind words I'm glad I was able to help you. I reuse my old steering arms, I just cleaned them up and painted them black. All the best, thanks again.

Looking Great!! I got my front end rebuilt, working on rebuilding the rear now.
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
Thanks Wayne. What kind of front end did you put in? I was debating between ridetech and Hotchkis for my car. Obviously I chose ridetech. All the best

@@classicrewind2715 I'm just doing a basic stock restoration. I did use a 1 in lowering spring in front and disc brake conversion from in line tube. Other than that all stock
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
Very nice. I should do a one inch lowering kit on my Chevelle. I think all Chevelle sit high in the front end. My SS Chevelle is all original except for the motor transmission and air shocks. All the best

@@classicrewind2715 I love your Chevelle, It looks great. Mine is Fathom Blue with white convertible top and white seats. I'm rebuilding my rear now, I found bad spider gears. Wasn't planning on that, but that's expected when working on old cars
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
True, you never know what you're going to find in these old cars. When I bought the GTO. I thought it was in good shape until I realized the previous owner cut the main support of the firewall to the frame. Then I decided I'm just going to redo the whole car. Good luck on the rear you're rebuilding. All the best

Do you remember what size master cylinder you put in this system. I have the exact same wilwood setup and tried a 1-1/8" master cylinder from wilwood and I cannot lock the wheels up. I am running the original gm 11" booster.
@classicrewind271510 ай бұрын
Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I am using a Hydro Boost system. I got rid of the stock booster.. I am running a rack and pinion as well if you check out some of my other videos. You may need a new proportioning valve. All the best

Thanks for the informative video. Do you have a list of part numbers for this kit & possibly a price for it? I'm looking for this kit for my 66 el camino. Love the black rotors & the hubs but do not know the part #'s. Thanks for any & all info that you can provide.
@classicrewind2715 Жыл бұрын
I purchased my rotors and calipers from Wilwood I don't recall the part number but it is in one of my videos . Six piston in the front four piston in the rear. Hope this helps, thanks for watching. all the best

Thank you for the kind words. I am building this car for myself. So I'm going to try to put some Quality Parts in it. Maybe when I'm done I could try to take it to Sema

I would love to see some videos about the 69 Chevelle you have in the background. Did you do much work to that car as well? Thanks for sharing the process.
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. I will try to do more videos of the Chevelle. I did the interior work in the Chevelle but I did not do any body work or metal work. All the best my friend

What rack and pinion would you be running in this? Looks great!
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
I'm going to run a unisteer rack and pinion. I've heard there's problems though in a GTO versus a Chevelle. I guess I will have to try it out and figure out what the difference is. All the best

Good morning Jeremy. KZbin is not letting me see any more comments on our thread. I hope you're getting my comment on the gasket and sealer.? I can't see any more comments from you. So will try on this thread. I used both sealer and Gasket. I used Indian Head sealer

What’s the length size you install the caliper bracket? The bottom bolt that goes into spindle
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
Hi, Are you referring to the bolts that go into the steering arm?
@kylemays94633 жыл бұрын
No the caliper bracket that installs into the spindle, the bottom bolt

I will have to check. I will let you know later on.

Ok thanks
@classicrewind27153 жыл бұрын
According to the Wilwood Instruction sheet There's two bolts The one bolt is 5/8 ×18 × 1.62 long flat head . That's the upper one that is a hex head .The bottom one Is 1/2× 20 × 3 inch long hex head bolt , that gets secured with a 12 point Nut at the end. I hope this explains it . Let me know all the best

No dust plates?
@classicrewind27152 жыл бұрын
Hi, No dust plates... I would not put them on a car that is being built from ground up.. You have a beautiful brake system from Wilwood or Baer. To put a dust shield on something like that would be sacrilege. LoL. All the best

@@classicrewind2715 Mine will be a driver so I need to keep the rocks and debris out. I've gotten debris between she and disc and it's a horrible racket. Was just looking at your vid to see if you had ideas for it. Thanks!
