Today is my 5th day without nicotine from any delivery system. No vape, cigarettes, chew, gum, or patches. Nothing. I 100% couldn't have made it this far without Wims method. Oh and I'm quitting mid divorce while extremely financially strained. I've literally never been this stressed and I'm still doing OK. All the love, all the power! Btw, thank you to everyone for supporting me in this. Getting the reaction this did really helped me keep going.

I used to do these breathing exercises daily, years ago. I’ve been struggling with my life recently and just came back to this for the first time since. I could cry right now. I’m going to turn my life back around I know I can do it. Please pray for me Update 1 (January 2025 11 months later)- it’s been almost a year since i commented this. I can’t even show how much I appreciate all the kind comments. I love randomly getting a notification from one of you replying saying you’re praying for me or something like that. I’m doing drastically better than I was last year. I have my own place, A better job that I’m happy at, and I’ve made a lot better life choices. Thank you all for caring about me ☺️❤️

@Philterbank
@Philterbank 3 жыл бұрын
@@homeofjuve9191 Only one way to find out. Most doctors either laugh off the problem or throw farmaceuticals at it. I've been doing both the technique and the cold showers and it amplifies willpower by a factor I didn't think was possible. Ease into it, do the beginner method and turn the hot water down more and more each shower.
@cokie8706

@@homeofjuve9191 anxiety is my guess! Hyperventilation can be shallow breathing, too, and it can make your chest so tense that it may feel uncomfortable or weird to breathe in. I know that feeling. Try this video for a few days and do your best. Even if there is an underlying cause at play, the anxiety definitely is not helping. Let me know if you need any ideas on relaxing/ grounding methods in your daily life, I know everybody has different ways of reliving stress so I don’t want to give unsolicited advice

As always, after each practice I feel incredible. I will say even more frankly, for full immersion (it is winter now) I open the windows and do the practice completely naked to harden the body even more, during the 10-minute practice I do not feel cold at all, 30 seconds after the practice it becomes incredibly cold. I hope my English is clear. Hello from Ukraine!

Testimonial. I started with meditation to manage anxiety, and that led to breath work and that led me here. I have been doing the Wim Hof breathing method for a month now and it has gone beyond just managing anxiety, it has eradicated it. I highly recommend doing the cold showers daily, even if you can only stand it for a minute or two it's been a game changer. So many things now seem possible.

I struggle with occasional waves of intense anxiety that can prevent me from working and living my life normally. This breathing technique is one of the best tools I've found to combat the anxiety. It always helps to clear my head and bring my awareness back to my body, instead of whatever I'm worrying about at the time. Although it has not eradicated mine completely, it never fails to help when I need to calm down. I'm glad to hear other people have found similar benefits.

All guys have had nights like these: Go to a party, already in a bad mood, trying to socialize, unable to really connect to anyone, get pissed of at yourself and the world, get hammered, try one more time to socialize, go home hating everything. After a night like this, before I would go into my depressed fuck-the-world routine (weed, porn, watching random shit on youtube) I did wim hof breathing. And boy, it really saved me from going to the dark place. Instead, I cried for like 2 minutes, got up again and suddenly felt how benign these issues were compared tot he fact that I’m alive and breathing. Then slept like a baby. I enjoy many different practices to find my balance like yoga and meditation, but what I feel is unique about WHM is that it works ALL THE TIME, irrespective of your current mental state. Love you Wim for teaching me this!

I'm 18 and in the darkest place I have ever been, a darkness that I didn't think was possible before, but is very common in basically all of my family. Before my nervous breakdown, I was very academic, I worked out a lot, I was very disciplined and was trying to develop my skills and educate myself. Then this hit and I believe I now know what suffering feels like. This has been a very humbling experience and one of great teaching, teaching me to be more compassionate towards others, because you truly never know what they're going through. Establishing a solid morning routine of movement, Wim Hof breathing and a walk acts as a glue holding my life together. Every day is difficult, but reading everyone else's experiences gives me hope that such suffering is not forever and happiness is possible again. Thank you Wim and thank you to everyone in the comments, what a community. Anyone reading this, I'm wishing you the best ❤

I'm a fire fighter and I did this at about 6am prior to a cold a shower on a Friday morning for the first time. I got to work by 7am and had a massive building fire at about 7.15am. I'd never worked so efficiently in my life, usually it's quite manic and stressful but I felt none of it. I performed at what I believe my highest capabilities mentally and physically. Thank you Wim Hof your methods really do save lives.

My sister used to use the Wim Hoff method to help calm her when things got too much. She survived getting hit by a truck 13 years ago, then spent the last 10 years fighting a very aggressive breast cancer. She sadly passed away on August 16th. Although she’s no longer with us, I still find comfort in using this breathing method just as she did. It helps me deal with everything that has happened, alongside other meditations ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. She survived being hit by a truck...THEN developed cancer?? 💔 I'm sorry, but that is bull$hit (no doubt you feel the same!). This may sound childish coming from a grown woman, but life really isn't fair. 😕 I bet she was an inspiration to many, having gone through all of that. 10 years is quite a long battle 💪🏻💜 It's awesome that you're practicing self-care as you grieve. And using a method that your sister found helpful probably brings a little bit of peace to you as you go through the grieving process. Side note: I lost my mom to the "c word" around 7 years ago, and was her caregiver for the last year of her life. It was a very long process as I bounced around the different stages of grief for years. Be patient with yourself and just feel whatever you feel without judgement. 😌🙏🏻

I've been practicing this breathing method for about 2 months now. I've been taking cold showers for even longer. Today, for the first time, I held my breath for over 3 and a half minutes. When I finished the exercise, I started crying uncontrollably, but at the same time, I felt a way that I can't put into words; free, happy, awake! Amazing! God bless you Wim, God bless all of you here! You're wonderful!

My boyfriend's kids have started doing this with me, ages 8 and 11, and they love it. I did the beginner video with them first and they did great on their first go. It wasn't long before the younger one asked if we could do this video, which has longer breath holds. And thru out the day, they just let out these lines that Hof says as he's guiding the session, it's hilarious. Out of nowhere one will start "if you need" and the other one joins in "to breathe before I give the cue, that's ok!" Thank you, Wim Hof, for making this so easy and enjoyable and accessible. All the love, all the power.

Go Gecko Go. Some advice from a friend: See if you can quit playing video games. They are a complete waste of your time. My one regret is playing so many video games for so many years. @@Zach_Routhier Very true man. Im 18 and i had depression and anxiety during all this quarantine. Ive let games take over my routine and lost so many time and sanity. Lost oportunities to study, to stay with my loved ones that arent here anymore. Lost my mind to this crazy cycle of dopamine inducing madness. Games, TV, porn... they are all related. Never felt better after quiting all this, and returning to a more natural, healthy life: now I can read, draw, write, talk to friends and family like a normal person. God bless

After huge trauma in my life (dad’s sudden death)I kept working on my company and myself in the gym. I didn’t pick alcohol or drugs like most of the people, I chose mainly work to forget and cope with the stress which was through the roof. Over the years I became a robot without strong emotions and one day my body symptoms (stomach aches and weird body aches) started to manifest the past trauma in to physical symptoms from the subconscious part of the mind. All the medical test were ok and I even went to hospital. It turned out it was my mind without my control letting the trauma go away with the terrible illogical symptoms. Since few months I have been ice plunging and doing breathing exercises twice a day. The progress is amazing. It’s day and night. Hope my story will inspire others 🤞

@nalviscoming1476
@nalviscoming1476 4 жыл бұрын
@@heatherwoodberry5217 the reason for this is because the wim hof breathing is a form of hyperventilation, it will leave you feeling dizzy and tingly because it lowers co2 levels in your blood while lowering oxygen saturation, co2 levels are responsible for letting you know that your oxygen is running low, and hyperventilation tricks you into thinking you have lots of oxygen as you are breathing frequently, so your co2 levels are suppressed. Do not try swimming or breath holds after this, you will pass out without knowing, your panic response won’t kick in and the only thing you will only feel so much as the dizzying feeling.

I first tried this in february 2020, but for some reason did not do it again. I remember feeling great afterwards and being impressed how long I could hold my breath. Then Covid happened and I threw away 555 days of abstinence from alcohol. This breathing could have saved me during the impulsive and chaotic state I was in. However, here I am now more than 2 years later, day 557 no booze, back at it. Doing this breathing exercise day and night for the past month. Jumping into the cold showers without hesitation. Ice baths outside few times a week. Slowly weaned myself off of Adderall and Antidepressants past 2 months. I feel like I'm on a great path now. Thanks Wim ❤

You’re doing amazing!! I have dealt with extreme anxiety and depression in the past and this technique has been one of the best things that had ever happened to me! What I realized is that there were things inside of me and feelings I was not allowing myself to feel. I had blocked emotions and was not feeling free to express myself. Once I started facing these emotions and feeling the pain inside I realized it started to heal. Once I didn’t run from the emotions inside of me that’s when I’ve truly begun to heal! This technique is a great way to release trapped emotions if you allow them to flow out. And it’s such a great thing to have to keep you going strong when you are feeling down and about to reach for a quick hit of dopeamine (in whatever form that is). But yeah my biggest advice to everyone is to let those emotions flow because that’s what will heal at the root of the depression and anxiety many times 🧡

To anyone doubting meditative practices, please stick with it and be consistent on a daily basis. A few weeks in, you’ll starting noticing transformational change and become a 2.0 version of yourself. To those that are emotionally suffering, I promise it gets better with time. Just stick to your process and limit your triggers. Keep the people who make you feel happy, heard, and appreciated. Follow your gut feeling and intuition. It’s nature’s way of guiding you towards energy that’ll be good for you. I wish you all much love, health, and happiness.m a 78 year old man and have done this breathing technique for a little less that three weeks...I do then twice a day and it was amazing how easy it was this morning to hold my exhale for more than the 1 1/2 minutes. 🙂.!!

Wim Hof’s guidance in this is amazing, but can we also take a second to appreciate the backing music? I adore how it builds! The effects of the exercise blend so perfectly with the music for a simply euphoric experience!

Oh yea! The music simply lets the body relax even more. I'd love to know whether it is a custom audio or something we can get and listen to apart from the exercise.

Hi I hope you dont mind me asking. Can you please refer to my comments i posted earlier today, should be near the top. You say this is your anti depressant. If you dont mind me asking, is your depression severe? And does it help with that? Many thanks

Hey, I've had an anxiety disorder of vomiting for 3 years. In the last year, panic attacks were added. Almost every day. I started meditating 2 weeks ago and have been doing this breathing exercise from Wim Hof for a week now. I am also being treated by a psychologist. Since Wim Hof's exercise my mental health has improved significantly. I already feel the difference during the exercise. The tingling sensations all over my body feel great. I do the exercise twice a day and I no longer have any stress, my sense of fear is also much less. thank you Wim! you are a great person !!!
