@@paintingsbygm944 hi, I have trouble with my breathing for the past 3 weeks, I feel I can’t take a deep breath and I went to doctor but they said that I’m fine and now I’m so scared and worried. I don’t know if I have anxiety. So can you please give me some advice, will this exercises and cold showers help me?
@Philterbank3 жыл бұрын
@@homeofjuve9191 Only one way to find out. Most doctors either laugh off the problem or throw farmaceuticals at it. I've been doing both the technique and the cold showers and it amplifies willpower by a factor I didn't think was possible. Ease into it, do the beginner method and turn the hot water down more and more each shower.
@cokie87063 жыл бұрын
@@homeofjuve9191 anxiety is my guess! Hyperventilation can be shallow breathing, too, and it can make your chest so tense that it may feel uncomfortable or weird to breathe in. I know that feeling. Try this video for a few days and do your best. Even if there is an underlying cause at play, the anxiety definitely is not helping. Let me know if you need any ideas on relaxing/ grounding methods in your daily life, I know everybody has different ways of reliving stress so I don’t want to give unsolicited advice

All guys have had nights like these: Go to a party, already in a bad mood, trying to socialize, unable to really connect to anyone, get pissed of at yourself and the world, get hammered, try one more time to socialize, go home hating everything. After a night like this, before I would go into my depressed fuck-the-world routine (weed, porn, watching random shit on youtube) I did wim hof breathing. And boy, it really saved me from going to the dark place. Instead, I cried for like 2 minutes, got up again and suddenly felt how benign these issues were compared tot he fact that I’m alive and breathing. Then slept like a baby. I enjoy many different practices to find my balance like yoga and meditation, but what I feel is unique about WHM is that it works ALL THE TIME, irrespective of your current mental state. Love you Wim for teaching me this!

My sister used to use the Wim Hoff method to help calm her when things got too much. She survived getting hit by a truck 13 years ago, then spent the last 10 years fighting a very aggressive breast cancer. She sadly passed away on August 16th. Although she’s no longer with us, I still find comfort in using this breathing method just as she did. It helps me deal with everything that has happened, alongside other meditations ❤️
@Lisa.B.8084 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry for your loss. She survived being hit by a truck...THEN developed cancer?? 💔 I'm sorry, but that is bull$hit (no doubt you feel the same!). This may sound childish coming from a grown woman, but life really isn't fair. 😕 I bet she was an inspiration to many, having gone through all of that. 10 years is quite a long battle 💪🏻💜 It's awesome that you're practicing self-care as you grieve. And using a method that your sister found helpful probably brings a little bit of peace to you as you go through the grieving process. Side note: I lost my mom to the "c word" around 7 years ago, and was her caregiver for the last year of her life. It was a very long process as I bounced around the different stages of grief for years. Be patient with yourself and just feel whatever you feel without judgement. 😌🙏🏻

I'm 18 and in the darkest place I have ever been, a darkness that I didn't think was possible before, but is very common in basically all of my family. Before my nervous breakdown, I was very academic, I worked out a lot, I was very disciplined and was trying to develop my skills and educate myself. Then this hit and I believe I now know what suffering feels like. This has been a very humbling experience and one of great teaching, teaching me to be more compassionate towards others, because you truly never know what they're going through. Establishing a solid morning routine of movement, Wim Hof breathing and a walk acts as a glue holding my life together. Every day is difficult, but reading everyone else's experiences gives me hope that such suffering is not forever and happiness is possible again. Thank you Wim and thank you to everyone in the comments, what a community. Anyone reading this, I'm wishing you the best ❤

For those who are still on the fence, this breathing method literally changed my life. I have always have anxiety and depending on how things are going in my life it increases to a point where it becomes so uncomfortable: sweaty hands and feet, BPM over 130 on rest, can't even leave my house, chest pain, etc. I take medication for anxiety and depression and fortunately the depression is super controlled but my anxiety was not, until a month ago when I started feeling super bad with lots of anxiety, I started doing the breathing exercise and literally from day ONE I felt amazing, and in 3 days my anxiety was almost gone. It also helps me a lot to manage the social anxiety and nervousness I usually have and also my BPM is under 90 now. I don't use any paid service for the meditation. Just this video.

I struggle with occasional waves of intense anxiety that can prevent me from working and living my life normally. This breathing technique is one of the best tools I've found to combat the anxiety. It always helps to clear my head and bring my awareness back to my body, instead of whatever I'm worrying about at the time. Although it has not eradicated mine completely, it never fails to help when I need to calm down. I'm glad to hear other people have found similar benefits.

My boyfriend's kids have started doing this with me, ages 8 and 11, and they love it. I did the beginner video with them first and they did great on their first go. It wasn't long before the younger one asked if we could do this video, which has longer breath holds. And thru out the day, they just let out these lines that Hof says as he's guiding the session, it's hilarious. Out of nowhere one will start "if you need" and the other one joins in "to breathe before I give the cue, that's ok!" Thank you, Wim Hof, for making this so easy and enjoyable and accessible. All the love, all the power.

I have struggled with major depressive disorder, adhd, and autism all of my life. These conditions usually have me bed ridden and suicidal on a regular basis. Today, I was suffering with a particularly strong bout of depression, overstimulation, and hopelessness when I decided I would try to do this breathing method and take a cold shower. Before I did it, I was feeling tired, hateful toward myself, and overwhelmed with life in general. After this exercise was over, tears started falling out of my eyes and I began to feel real emotions for the first time in a while. It’s almost as if those tears were stuck behind a dam of sorrow and fear, begging to be let out. Once I did this exercise, the dam broke and it felt wonderful. Thank you so much for creating this video and this technique ❤

I did Wim Hof method + cold showers every day from 2019-2022 and during that time I hadn't suffered even a common cold. Then I stopped Wim Hof thinking that it could be better to spend that time exercising. I would still take daily cold showers. Since I stopped Wim Hof method seasonal cold/flu returned. In 2023 I had three infections and only recovered from another this week. I came to realisation that Wim Hof method worked well for me and I'm going to make it my daily routine.

I just did hid breathing method for the 1rst time today. I won't lie it freaked me out..I got all tingly and thought I would pass out. I was starting to have a panic attack but kept on and finished. Curious to see what his recommendations will do for me.
@nalviscoming14763 жыл бұрын
@@heatherwoodberry5217 the reason for this is because the wim hof breathing is a form of hyperventilation, it will leave you feeling dizzy and tingly because it lowers co2 levels in your blood while lowering oxygen saturation, co2 levels are responsible for letting you know that your oxygen is running low, and hyperventilation tricks you into thinking you have lots of oxygen as you are breathing frequently, so your co2 levels are suppressed. Do not try swimming or breath holds after this, you will pass out without knowing, your panic response won’t kick in and the only thing you will only feel so much as the dizzying feeling.

I first tried this in february 2020, but for some reason did not do it again. I remember feeling great afterwards and being impressed how long I could hold my breath. Then Covid happened and I threw away 555 days of abstinence from alcohol. This breathing could have saved me during the impulsive and chaotic state I was in. However, here I am now more than 2 years later, day 557 no booze, back at it. Doing this breathing exercise day and night for the past month. Jumping into the cold showers without hesitation. Ice baths outside few times a week. Slowly weaned myself off of Adderall and Antidepressants past 2 months. I feel like I'm on a great path now. Thanks Wim ❤

You’re doing amazing!! I have dealt with extreme anxiety and depression in the past and this technique has been one of the best things that had ever happened to me! What I realized is that there were things inside of me and feelings I was not allowing myself to feel. I had blocked emotions and was not feeling free to express myself. Once I started facing these emotions and feeling the pain inside I realized it started to heal. Once I didn’t run from the emotions inside of me that’s when I’ve truly begun to heal! This technique is a great way to release trapped emotions if you allow them to flow out. And it’s such a great thing to have to keep you going strong when you are feeling down and about to reach for a quick hit of dopeamine (in whatever form that is). But yeah my biggest advice to everyone is to let those emotions flow because that’s what will heal at the root of the depression and anxiety many times 🧡

Got a 2:40 breath hold, that’s was pretty great, I feel incredible, working towards 3 For those of you just starting, DO NOT FORCE IT. Your lungs need to build up, as does your mental state in handling the light stress. Do not be afraid to breath before the time. Just like working out, you cannot go into the gym for the first time expecting to walk out like a bodybuilder. It takes time and practice. Add it to your daily regiment, my favorite is right before bed as I personally fall asleep easier that way. All the love, all the power my friends!

it might be psychological. if you constantly think about taking a breath you won't be able to hold it for long. try completely clearing your mind

If you want to hold it longer, try to breath in deeper so that you feel no more space in lungs. And when breathing out try to push at the end to squeeze all air out like you’re coughing. Doing so I hold now for 2:30 and fell like can do 3min soon.
