Watched this video, played a short game, then another with black pieces and... opponent goes for Italian game! Heart rate goes up, opponent moves Ng5 and GOES FOR FRIED LIVER! Set up Traxler with Bc5, opponent goes Nf7, it's on! Hit Bf2+, Kf2. This is it! Don't mess up! Anxiety, glory, chaos! Then what? Checkmate with black pieces on 10 moves! Thank you!

@@scoffcat7062 I got a guy playing that. Play Qh4+. If he moves the king to f1, Qf2#. Ke2 is also Qf2+, Kd3 and Qd4+, ke2 and d5 (to activate the bishop). then it is mate in like 2 or 3 moves. whites best move after Qh4+ is g3. Take with the Knight, if he takes back you have a free rook with check. play that out right and you will be up material, or even mate him. I didn't play out all scenarios, but unless you blunder big you will be up material. I made 2 mistakes and still ended up with more material and won the game. And I am pretty bad at chess, there is probably a way better way to win in that situation.

Been studying this counter-attack as a 1100 player, because I've seen the fried liver a few times and it's been annoying to deal with while developing how I want to, and after learning it, I finally got someone to fall for it and it felt ooooh so good. The moment he realized his queen was completely trapped and those 2 full minutes in Blitz where I just get to sit back and sip my drink as I watch his mental state crumble silently... I would say this video should have more views and likes, but I don't want this 1100s to catch on so I can get a nice free win every once in a while.

If Bxd5 on move 9 then: 9... Qf4+ 10.Kd3 (forced) Qd4+ 11.Ke2 (forced) Then you can take their bishop on d5 and there's a really deadly trap if they take your rook with their knight. You play Bg4+ and win their qeen in a skewer. If your opponent plays anything else you simply take the knight. So although I couldn't seem to find a mate either you still end up winning pretty big.
@yuurai

If 9. Bxd5 then 10. Qf4+ Kd3 11. Bd5+ Kc3, 12. Qd4+ Kb3 13. Qb4# You get checkmated. Other moves can help prolong white's suffering after playing Kd3 but this is already an unplayable position for white after losing their bishop. Ke3 and Kxd5 both lose the game by Qd4+ and Be6+ respectively.

Was watching your new video and saw a game where your opponent played the fried liver. Which I see like 90% of the time in my games. Your advice was to play the traxler so I came here. This was just the kind of advice I was looking for to elevate my gameplay and finally have a response to fried liver attacks other than trying to do it first or getting out of the way. Another great video.

8:17 the best move here for black is actually Qe7, although Qc5 is still good. Qe7 forces a draw as white must play c3, d3 or h3. The simplest draw is after c3: Bg4 Qa4+ Nd7 Kxf2 Qh4+ Kf1 Bh5 cxd4 Qf4+ Ke1 Qe4+ Kf1 and a repetition after Qf4+. On the lichess database, no one has played 14. Bh5: in all 3 games Qf6+ was played, but after Ke1 Qh4+ g3 Nf3+ Kf2 Qf6 d4 (preparing to sacrifice the bishop on f4 after a discovered check with the knight, which makes the black pawn stop black’s attack - the white king will be safe enough and will be up a rook, so will win)

True, 10...Qe7 is better than 10...Qc5 where Black is struggling to equalize. But this is not the only omission in the survey: 5.d4 is barely touched, and what is the most recent and dangerous trend (5.Bxf7+ Ke7 6.Bc4!) is just a mention.
@Aperson-kq7pt
@Aperson-kq7pt 10 ай бұрын
@@user-ig8qd4tt7b 5.d4 is an inferior version of Bxf7+ and the moves for after Bxf7+ are really simple - black will set up a quick attack on the king-side.
@user-ig8qd4tt7b
@user-ig8qd4tt7b 10 ай бұрын
@@Aperson-kq7pt Ummm, no. 5.d4 is equally good to 5.Bxf7+. Black can choose either a queenless middlegame, or another middlegame with queens-on, where he is a pawn down with insufficient compensation. If 5.Bxf7+ is to be preferred, this is because of 5.Bxf7+ Ke7 6.Bc4! which is relatively unexplored compared to 6.Bd5/Bb3, but in all likelihood the best of the three.
@Aperson-kq7pt
@Aperson-kq7pt 10 ай бұрын
@@user-ig8qd4tt7b The queen-less middle game is an equal position - black has played the traxler, which should be losing by force and has equalised. With the best line of 5.d4, white does gain some advantage, but the centre is open and this favours black over the 5.Bxf7+ line as black is up in development.

@@markkealy4417 Yeah is changes the pressure back on black because if you don't take which your knight they can check you again as a sacrifice and take your rook and just generally confuse and mess up your master plan. Basically, it would turn into a normal chess game again instead of cat and mouse booby traps.
