This was my dad's favorite song. I got my first guitar just to learn it for him when I was 13. He passed away what feels like yesterday (July 20th, 2017) but I still play and practice this song till today for him.

I gave my son a copy of this song when he turned 13. Life went on, he graduated, went to college, joined the military. He got married at 30. It came time for the mother/son dance and this is the song that started. He said he listened to this song all his growing up years because it meant a lot to him. I never knew he listened to it other than the day I gave it to him.

Recently, the one who was my companion for over 3 years left me for a life of foolish adventures. I still feel a lot of pain; I am so emotionally hurt that sometimes it becomes something physical. I asked God for an answer, and I stumbled upon this song completely by chance. I didn't make a mistake; she did. My wounds are deep, but I will recover. If you're going through something like this, do as in the song-love, and you will understand. Be kind and follow your heart; everything you need is in your spirit.

This was my son Josh's favorite song. he was murdered on February 6, 2013 in his own house after waking up from a nap and coming down a flight of steps. He never realized he would never walk up those steps again. The murderer shot him seven times and only got third degree 15 to 30. The two eyewitnesses were never made to show up for court. Then seven months later Josh's twin sister Jacqueline died on September 11, 2013. I was devastated I have had a trauma counselor and the good Lord to help me deal with this deep tragedy, for they were my only two children. God is so good! My children are in heaven. They knew Jesus Christ. Thank God! Several gospel songs by Johnny Cash have helped me through this tragedy , as well! Thank God by Lauren Daigle, also has been an inspiration to me. The song itself " Simple Man" holds a special place in my heart for my son Joshua. Jackie liked the song by Andy Grammar Keep your head up, it is, also, an inspiration to me when I think of my daughter! I have, by the grace of God, been able to forgive this awful murderer who ruined my life but God made me a stronger person through the trial or I would of never made it. THANKS BE TO JESUIS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVOUR FOREVER AND EVER!!!!!!! 👨👷♀🦋🦋

My sister DeLynn Reed lost her first born son a couple of years ago. She hasn't been the same since. I wasn't able to make it to his memorial service, I arrived a long while later at my sister's house on her "Rez" to visit her and see her little girls. Naturally, I do my best to do what I can for her when I'm there, like tending to her home etc. So, before I start to tidy up her living room, I have to put some music on, and for some reason I felt like blasting this song while I did my thing. I played it loud and before I knew it, my sister came out from her room and just kinda stared at me while the song was playing. I thought she was gonna tell me to turn it down, but she didn't. I think at that moment, she probably received some sort of confirmation about her son's spirit around her. Why? Well, this very song I was playing, was the song played at her son's funeral. For the record, we hadn't even touched the surface or even mentioned anything about his death yet. Ironic? Maybe. However, I believe spirits are real and they make their way back to those who are still hurting or mourning them when they were on Earth. They come and show you they're there through music and signs and all sorts of ways that people are able to recognize and feel em again. It was a beautiful moment and now a good memory for me to write about now. Rest In Peace, Dustin. You are never forgotten and always missed. Love you DeLynn Reed, walk softly. Your sister, Jackie
