Did my first Restaurant window clean today. You make it look easy. 4 Hours later and I have to go back tomorrow to finish off all the internal windows. I can see there is a lot of technique that will come with practice. I will try to get my hands on the Sorbo Brand. Cheers.

Dirty, dusty, spotty, clean, the 4 stages of clean. On insides use these stages, if the window is not one of the first three move on to one that is. That said wet scrub and squeegee all outside windows.

David Swanson so did you make a video yet showing us all how it’s done? actions mean a lot more then words. These are many techniques, maybe you don’t agree with all of them and that’s ok, but to not provide the way you do it and then tell others they are wrong is pretty stupid if you ask me....

When I'm doing route work by myself I always use two poles and just set the mop on the window I'm about to clean, because the squeegee and mop always stick to the handle what type of pole is that where you can just take them on and off so easily?.....

great techniques! I'm new, practicing at my house with gg3 and errore channels with their stock rubber. I'm wondering if you or another commenter might help me out with lack of slip manifesting in an occasional chatter on glass. I soak scrubber, then hand ring it over bucket, flip scrubber and hand ring once more. then I scrub glass, and there is just a slight film of cleaning solution on glass, so little that it just clings to glass and really doesn't start dripping down until I begin squeegeeing. watching your video with the amount of solution you use to scrub down, I'm wondering if I'm not using enough , and perhaps that accounts for occasional chatter? should I not double hand wring the scrubber? thank you!
@bizzarrogeorge
@bizzarrogeorge 8 жыл бұрын
ugghh, never mind! just watched another video and realized it was my squeegee technique! I've been doing it wrong. I was thinking that I wanted to press enough against glass to bend the rubber a bit, my thinking was that more rubber against glass would move more water. then when I got near the edge I would shift my hand upward out of the way of edge, release pressure that was flattening rubber, rotate onto the actual rubber top in an attempt to prepare for closing out, and then watch in horror as the rubber chatterred the last couple inches. the Unger traditional techniques training video I just watched opened my eyes to my poor technique. also, my finger placement appears to be wrong as well. wax on wax off is heavy in my future.

+bizzarrogeorge a light touch is what you want, get sorbo brand squeegee or use brass ettore! Your angle is very important as well! It takes time to learn, check out my channel, Luke the window cleaner, and Polzn Bladz. Ungers video is great as well!' Good luck

Hi SteveO I fan the windows with the pole too like you show in this video but you have to use a lot of shoulder action, I have never used the wagtail, have you? And do you think it's better to fan the window with a wagtail? Thanks for the videos

Just always take a rag and wipe the top when your done, trust me the customer ain't gonna get a ladder out and check the top of the window, when doing this technique wash multiple windows at once and you'll finish jobs quick with little effort.

Guys how are you closing these windows out with one swipe? What brand squeegee is that....I use an Ettore brass 20 to 22 inch with a Ledger handle. I normally cut the windows and clean by hand, I am also 6'1.
@SteveOthewindowcleaner
@SteveOthewindowcleaner 8 жыл бұрын
This is a sorbo 18" and 24". With a sorbo or wide body channel it's easy to close out with these techniques, brass or stainless steel ettore channels are not easy to do this with no matter how good you are. I'm 6 2' so you can definitely do this as well with the right tools.

Hello Steve,is Jim here from New Zealand, one very quick questions, when you do the pull down work, how come there is no streak or marks left in the middle or the side? is it because of the sorbo channel? I haven't try a sorbo channel yet, but I am looking for to get one for some of my high windows, hope I can clean windows without ladder one day, it is very painful for me sometimes even need to climb on the roof or on the very highest ladder to clean the 2nd storey house, please help me out I feel you are very very good at tall windows cleaning skill! Thanks mate wish hear back from you soon!
@SteveOthewindowcleaner
@SteveOthewindowcleaner 8 жыл бұрын
Sorbo is definitely the best for straight pulls! I also use them on my ledgers for tall 2nd and 3rd floor glass, Also a water fed pole can be a huge help with tall Windows especially if you have back issues.
