The reason I choose cheaper graphic card for my windows 10 desktop was: to make my Windows 10 like Windows 7 instead of getting forced windows 11 update

Yeah win10 support is ending, once i remove it and leave only linux partition my laptop will drop the win10 support ☠️☠️

Microsoft is not stopping you from using Windows 10 you just won't get support it's unreliable anyway.

@copiuumxo Maybe for Steam games although it looks like Steam is still supporting Windows 10 because it's more reliable for gaming I am more worried about what Valve thinks about all of this.

It’s very weird knowing that Windows 10 will lose its support in 1 year. I still remember 9 years ago when Windows 10 was the new, I think I kept bugging my dad about it (I was a kid soo) Even tho I loved 8.1, I was still very excited to try out a new OS. My 6 years experience with Windows 10 was not the best.

Don't fear of losing your files!! I've upgraded a Surface Pro 6 to Windows 11 and there wasn't a single file missing. Also, you can return to Windows 10 within 10 days of the upgrade. If you can't upgrade to Win 11, there is a new software called "Mini" Win 11. (Idk if that's the name) I do sometimes miss Win 10 but I really do enjoy Win 11.

They did this with Windows 7 you should have the option to opt out of the upgrade. You won't receive updates which is fine by me I consider them a memory hog anyway.

Who cares about the end of support, it's not like it really means anything nowadays... That of course still doesnt make the popup any less annoying and frustrating, it's just wrong to do this to customers.

I agree, however for people who have stuff like bank accounts, passwords, and other stuff saved onto the computer. Just in some peoples case so that they are completely safe.

@@WindowsOSStuff but even if you have sensitive data, it doesn't matter what OS you are using, you need good virus protection and that's it. if the OS is unsupported, it only means there won't be new features.

Disable Windows Update in services msc, then you have nothing to worry about. That's what I did. I got no pop ups. My Windows 7 systems still run fine in 2024 with Updates turned off, and MS support for those ended in 2015.

Microsoft Windows 11 is not good on preformance. My computer had windows 11 preinstalled and its specs where high enough for win11 but it ate all my ram and i only had 140mb of useable ram even after i removed all the shit HP had installed, not even google opened So i had to use a clean version of windows 11 and now i find bloat installing software running in the backround. Turns out i can still see the windows 7 layer under the very unresponsive UWP menus and layers. Windows 11 is another layer of paint covering windows 7, 8, 10 and with unessasry bloat put in it. just dont ever go on windows 11. Edit: I have never installed a virus

These damn updates are now endlessly annoying and completely overrated. They only artificially create pressure to upgrade and buy new. For example, I'm not going to throw away my working smartphone just because it stopped getting updates from Samsung this year.

Windows and MacOS definitely have some privacy issues that shouldn't be ignored. However, I still use Windows 11. Why? Linux and sometimes MacOS doesn't support a lot of games without tweaking.

@@enigmence Most games are supported on Linux without tinkering actually. I checked and 41 of the 50 of the current most popular games on Steam work through proton near-flawlessly. And from my experience, games from Indie & AA studios work even more often (probably because no anticheat)

@@vbau4 i used to use linux (stopped using it because i was running a dualboot, still use it for my laptop tho) and most games support linux or the wine wrapper. But games with an anticheat (Roblox, Siege) will not run on linux. I definetly recommend linux if you use a hdd tho. Launch times are amazing compared to windows
