4:27 those numbers for Win+Z let you press that number on the keyboard to activate the given group. It asks you once to select a group of tiles, then to select the final tile from the group to drop the window into. This makes it so that you don't have to use the mouse to snap a window at all. 5:38 the top-most icon in the hamburger menu (to the left of the app icon) collapses and expands the menu.
@DEZK90
@DEZK90 2 жыл бұрын
I just tried the Hamburger Icon on top and its super buggy for me. collapsing works fine, but when extending it takes like one to two seconds (I guess there should be an animation but that is bugged and so it jumps from fully collapsed to extended with a delay)

@@aoiyu_ I'm on 25217.1010 and it's still doing that delay when toggling the menu. I think it's the fact that WinUI / XAML Island can't properly animate Win32 content, so it has to snap it from one place to the other in a weird way.

I also appreciate the resources you have put in the description. Personally am quite skeptical if I should upgrade to Win11 - I have received the notification from MS saying that my device is compatible with it. I think I might upgrade and play around with it for a couple of days; I'll update y'all later. UPDATE: I just installed Win11, and let me tell you: it is worth installing it. It runs smooth, it is very practical and it's less "bulky" than Win 10. I totally recommend it.

Any Windows upgrade brings back old bloatware and new one. I dream of an upgrade process where you are prompted with a checkbox list of software you might want (or not) to install. And maybe add a description. This way users wouldn't feel fooled, upgrades would require less time and bandwidth, and overall the slight empowerment would mean that users would care more for their Windows OS

I have a Dell XPS 13 that came with 11, which is nice to use as a little tester of the OS while my desktop stays at 10. I've actually been holding off of upgrading the desktop specifically for Start folders - I use them quite extensively to hop very quickly into important apps. Now that they've added them in, I'm considering upgrading, but I feel like I still don't quite trust it enough. It's easier to see it as a laptop OS than a full fledged desktop OS. This update does bring it slightly closer though.

Solution: use Linux for daily power use instead. :) I've been using Windows all my life, but after making the switch a few months ago, Linux has been a much better power user experience with all the tools it gives and better performance it offers for recursive file searches and whatnot. So much can be done in the terminal alone. You can do GPU passthrough virtualization (or just a dual boot) when you need to play games since that's like the only thing not fully supported.

Fourth thing to do was find a nice theme, like Experience, on the WindowBlinds 11 site, and lastly, was to find a good high res wallpaper of the Blis image. Next on my list of to-dos, will be to get back the 3D folders we had from XP, up to 10. There are other not so obvious updates which really stabilise the whole system. However, what is not welcome is a message I have received from Microsoft, days after the update, asking me to approve a range of actions, one of which I strongly object to. To explain - I am almost 81 years old and I have a fully registered copy of Microsoft Office less than 2 years old which is more than adequate for my needs. I do NOT need to install Office 365 and all the accompanied monthly charges for Cloud space etc., which I clearly do not want. Therefore I can't positively accept all of the improvements as the Office 365 subscription seems to be an integral part of the package !!!

If I had to guess it probably wasn't that simple, they pretty much rebuilt the taskbar from scratch and that probably goes for all the functionality surrounding it. ExplorerPatcher still working here to being back the Win7/8/10 style taskbar and start menu for free. The pinned start menu folders might be handy on touchscreen devices but I'd never give them a second look on a desktop.

6:47 - ClipChamp would be fine if things like DaVinci Resolve didn't exist. Maybe it's ok if you have next to zero video editing experience, but even then, it'd be better to spend a day figuring out DaVinci rather than paying for the full ClipChamp version.

Tried it, but reverted back to the earlier version, as the ribbon hack no longer works in File Explorer, and you’re stuck with the newly designed, minimalist menu. I suspect this is in preparation for the tabbed Explorer, but I’d like the option to choose between the two. I much prefer the ribbon.. the new design is awful.

The one thing keeping me from getting windows 11 is that there aren't any animations for switching virtual desktops. Is it really that hard to add a simple sliding animation like they have in windows 10?

Rule of thumb when it comes to a new Windows release. It's just like a fresh barrel of wine, it will take about 2-4 before you want to actually drink it. If you drink it before then it will probably be extremely mediocre and taste kind of crappy.

How about: - START MENU. I can’t click on the icon of the program, player, folders, etc. and see the last opened files and I can't pin any of them. It was the only reason for me for using Start menu, was better in WIN 10, now I can't do that in WIN 11, I can do the same with last opened files in taskbar, if I pin the program. - THE VOLUME. When pressing the volume icon, I can use a wheel of a mouse to adjust the volume, or rather I can, but only in the horizontal area of the volume line, but if I move cursor anywhere else one pixel - I can't change a volume. In Windows 10, I can have the cursor anywhere for changing the volume with a mouse wheel. There is a plus, in Windows 11, if you put your cursor on the volume icon (without pressing), you can change the volume, but again, if it is in the tiny frame of this volume icon, and the minus is - it shows me too many letters, The name of the sound device and only at the end or in the middle - the volume percentage. 22H2 much better than previous Sorry for my English.

Well they used to do a major update twice a year, the first was done in the first half of the year (April) and the release had the 1H designation to indicate the first half of the year. The second update (October) had the 2H designation indicating it was the second half of the year update. Since they’re only doing a major update once a year now, there is no longer a need for the 1H and 2H designation.
