It sounds very intrusive, else, it doesn't actually offer anything "new" or useful. Ever since Vista, all we've been using is a skinned Windows XP with slightly modified driver models and minor under the hood changes... and a shtload of security patches that weren't even necessary (90% of risks are hypothetical, some were even proven to not be possible, period, thus bloat). Pre-reset Longhorn was a revolutionary change, the way files are accessed would have been unlike anything we use today, for an OS. WinFS was the backbone IMO, rather than relying on big companies (the cloud) with your data, it was all local and in your complete control. Utilizing local data to interact with websites, rather than websites interacting with your data, somewhere along the lines, we were forced into a situation where external entities call the shots, not you. I don't think Longhorn was scrapped due to buggy and unorganized code, someone bought up Microsoft and terminated the project. They never would have had access to your data without terminating pre-reset longhorn.

For everyone that says "We ArE gOiNg To PaY fOr wInDoWs 12", Windows 12 would be, if not dead on arrival, barely used if it requires a subscription. Google doesn't charge you for Android and ChromeOS, Apple doesn't charge you for iOS and MacOS, Windows would be an ugly outlier if it does. The closest thing to a subscription based Windows is Windows 365, which, at the time of writing, is only available for: Businesses, Enterprise, the Frontline (hospitals) and for Government use, not for your average Joe. It might come to consumers in the future, but Locally installed Windows is not going anywhere in the future. Maybe there will be thin clients that will run Windows 365, but normal PCs will not go extinct in the future.

It's going to be a Windows 11 update instead of an upgrade to 12 because a lot of people have not migrated to 11 from Windows 10 to avoid further fragmentation of the user base. Windows 12 might be still available in the future but it won't be this year for sure. Andromeda OS was going to be Windows 10 mobile for Surface Duo but this was later replaced with Android. Windows 10X didn't get released and the features planned for it instead were integrated into Windows 11. Cortana has been replaced with Copilot. The modular design and Core OS/Core PC might still be in the works but it's not confirmed.

Still on Windows 10 there's no guarantee any rumors are real though because Microsoft has PROMISED us that Windows 10 is the final version of Windows anyone who doesn't have system requirements are safe for now because it doesn't look like they're removing the upgrade requirements anytime soon. Literally none of the "features" are new. Power tools was an 11 thing, cortana is getting the boot, voice control has always existed, face id is face id from apple(windows hello). Andromeda is actually the codename for the OS that was initially made for the Surface Duo... They ceased development of that ages ago to use Android instead sadly. Also CoreOS is now called CorePC, which to me says they have abandoned other form factors.
