The mother of a Windrush child has called on Theresa May to reflect on what she is doing to the country after her 58-year-old son was found dead last month.
The cause of his death is still to be determined.
Dexter had spent more than a year trying to prove his right to live in the UK - a country he hadn't left since he arrived here as a child from Grenada in the 60s.
Because he didn't have the right documentation, he had lost his job and was warned he could be deported.

Only someone without a heart would not feel sympathy towards the loss of a son. RIP.

Live in a country all your life until near retirement age, be educated, work and pay taxes and then be told you're being fired and facing deportation because of intentionally missing paperwork. How would this impact you? You're deemed not entitled to your pension or benefits like unemployment payments, health care, housing benefit etc and thus you're facing eviction. Your life is helpless and hopeless so you decide to end your own life rather than suffer what is surely coming. Only the bigots and xenophobes say this catalogue of avoidable misfortunes is not the fault of the state and refuse to acknowledge that these plainly avoidable circumstances *drove* this man to suicide. Racist Britain exposed again.

My sister used to live next to Dexter Bristol. I remember his lights would always be out and he never came out his flat. Sometimes we would hear him move inside, so we knew someone was in there but he was as quiet as a mouse..darked out windows, electricity off, like he was hiding . At all times during the night strange men would come and knock at his door 1am, 2am, 5am, sometimes they would knock at my sisters asking questions.... this went on for years. We later found out Dexter was a windrush citizen, hounded by immigration, terrified to leave his home, so stayed inside as a recluse, rarely leaving, with no access to healthcare, threatened by the government ... Dexter died of a heart attack two years ago outside the flats.... the government killed him. Rest in peace Dexter... I’m so sorry we didn’t know your story, wish you would of knocked on the door. We’re happy to give evidence on this!! Pray you and family get some justice for this ❤️❤️ xxx

The fact that England went around colaniesing the majority of the Caribbean and other places as Indea and China to name two makes No difference. As these people came from the Caribbean and India in the early 50s, 60s and 70s to England needs to be looked at properly and regarding Teresa May, i need why did she find it nessasery to make it law to revoke countries that were considered British under Britain's imperial control all of a sudden Not British anymore must be unlawful being she didnt give them long enough to get all their legal papers togather stating "if these are not on line with legal standard layed out within a constant time, and do not have the correct paper document of permanent resident to continue to live in the Uk will be sent back to their country of origin and will no longer be a British citizen. Would have been the proper legal way to go about this yet this was not done Is this not legal according to the GM Law

I’m an American , but I could not imagine going through this stress! This is a disgrace, Theresa May should be what we call in America .. Impeached . As the Child of immigrants from Panama, this really hits home. I hope that all of those affected by Windrush are given their proper British Citizenship as well as compensation. How are these people supposed to prove citizenship when all documents were destroyed?

Because Britain colonized the English speaking Islands. We were seen as British. We were taught that UK is our mother country. Most of the islands are independent now. The beaches are owned by the royal family. The King is still represented by a representative called a governor general in these islands. We have had a close relationship with the UK

If they believe that this caused his death they are entitled to their opinion and journalists should report on stories of these individuals and its impact. The family should take the government court and let them decide. Clearly, this video is way too brief to formulate a honest and fair opinion.

I would think the blame game is a lead up to claiming compensation. If I have allowed this man to work pay taxes and national insurance for his pension. This should’ve been explained to him 50 years ago not now towards the end of his working life. It’s a disgrace.
